very late to the video but it's important to note that duesenberg makes all of their hardware, which is why it all has the same theme (the trem is their own design as well)
Beautiful guitar, beautiful review. I picked one up a couple years ago. I was standing in a guitar shop and I looked up and I saw the light hitting that blue sparkle while it was hanging up on the wall and I was mesmerized.
The longer I have this guitar The more I've learned to appreciate the beautiful detail. Thank you.

Great vid - keep 'em coming. Got this same model late last year (in black sparkle) and I'm blown away. Incredible tone(s) and playability, not to mention drop-dead gorgeous. I own two Gibsons and a PRS and this one went immediately to the top of the heap. Well, OK, maybe tied for top spot with my beloved SG. Duesenbergs are expensive but, unlike certain other brands (***cough***G____n***cough), one could not complain that they're overpriced. If I'm ever in the position to afford another, I'll buy one. (Being the rock lunkhead I am, I find the Bonneville particularly intriguing.)

The case is beautifully made as well. If I'm not mistaken there are six hinges. Beautiful attention to detail even on the case.
The duesenberg trem system is their own design and made by Duesenberg and not a Bigsby!
Ok, The Tuners ARE NOT locking. they just look like it. The disc on the back does not move. Please don't "Move" it or you will break it. The Tremola is not a licensed Bigsby , It's Duesenberg's own. Most of the hardware is Nickle and will age and tarnish as such.
Killer guitars and the Tremola is a big upgrade from most bigsby's
Thanks for the update! The tremolo has to be a bigsby variation unless they don't have a patent on it anymore. Seems like the exact same design, no? Nice to know about tuners! Thanks for saving me some headaches

@@RamonaMusicCenter much more stable, Smoth, etc. everywhere that trem is known to be superior to the gretsch

Are you still liking it? I have a trade offer for a white cream Starplayer TV, on my Gibson LP 50s standard AAA. They're about the same retail cost. I have several higher end LPs, so I won't miss it. Just looking for some opinions as the guy is a couple hours away.
Great guitar! As a poor man One could buy a DeArmond M75T. Load it with TV Jones T Armonds, and for under $1k you're there.
I picked this guitar up 3 months ago brand new. I'm very new to buying guitars and learning about them. I was a little worried that maybe I should have got something nicer (like a custom shop) because I was afraid maybe this guitar was mass produced and not as unique as one that you could get for maybe 1,000 or 2000 more. But after seeing this review, I am glad I got it and appreciate all the fine detail that this review points out.

I just started to get into Customs. I know it sounds crazy but I've only been playing for 6 months and I've got 10 guitars. I tried to go with decent quality. The first five guitars I bought were the best you could get "without" going into Custom. When I first started, I thought two grand was a lot to spend on a guitar. Then I saw the Custom room and my eyes popped out. But I think it's important not to just own a bunch of cool guitars but actually learn to "play" them. I practice an hour and a half every night. I've got all five Pentatonic shapes down (forwards and backwards). I also learned all seven Diatonic shapes (forwards and backwards). I'm just going for accuracy for now, not speed. I don't know a single chord yet. My goal is to learn to "expand," "contract," and "blend" the scales to eventually do some creative soloing. I just wish I would have seen the custom ones first.
Someone told me, never buy a guitar to try to make money because nine times out of 10 you won't. Buy what you like. I would like to trade those first five guitars in, but because it's past the 45 days of purchase, they're telling me that they're considered "used" guitars and will only give me the used price (even though they're in perfectly mint condition). My guitars are in better shape than the ones they sell as new hanging on the wall that they let people scratch up with rings, watches and belt buckles. Live and learn.
Well, they are massproduced in Korea but they are well made so don't let that stop you from getting one (you might let the insane overpricing stop you though...)

I have a 2012 Starplayer TV Classic that replaced my PRS. As good as the PRS was, I can't put my Duesey down!

My Sessionman Duesenberg is the finest guitar I have ever owned, sorry Gibson (Les Paul, Firebird, 335, SG) and Fender (Stratocaster, Telecaster) there’s no comparison IMHO.

Duesenberg does not have anything made under license, not even the tremolo and tuners. Everything is made in-house.
Even the pickups and even the strings, all their own design and handmade. This is one of the things that distinguishes them from mass-produced products...
I love their quality! I remember seeing a bunch of discussion a couple years back because people were confused about where certain things were made. Even the Wiki page has some conflicting info about the tuners. Love their innovation though!

hahaha your not wrong. Thought the Orange Rocker tube amp would have done it but no. Switched in all videos since.
Some people are so rude in their comments about you not knowing everything exactly about the guitar but ignore them as anyone with a brain can see you’re doing this as an informal first look at the guitar and all the so called experts commenting can do their own thorough research 😆

So that's not a Bigsby man. Its a proprietary Duesenberg les Trem. Also those aren't locking tuners.
Do a little research and understand the instrument you're reviewing.
Did much more research since but this was a first look review when we got it in the shop. This is the Duesenburg Deluxe tremola and works in the same fashion as a bigsby which is why I referenced it but actually isn't the les trem. The les trem is meant for a traditional stop tailpiece. I loved the deluxe tremolo because you can move the arm in a full 360 degrees which is a frustrating limitation of the Bigsby. I was confused by the tuners because of the knurled edge on the back but worked really well when I got to test them out with a restring. Cheers!
