With the new B7 covers, I've hitched my wagon to them and totally changed my game. Glad to see you recognize the potential and join B7. Love watching your videos as I can relate to your style, simple and efficient. Much luck on tour but off to a good start with having great balls to throw now.
I'm the exact opposite. After almost 30yrs of throwing Brunswick equipment, I'm moving on to other brands. HK22 ruined their equipment for me. Don't like the reaction, don't like the durability of HK22, and haven't found it to be very receptive to surface adjustments. I've tried two HK22 balls, and both are now collecting dust and I'm back to throwing my old, pre HK22 stuff. When that wears out I'm going to either Motiv or SPI.
Congrats on the move. Sounds like a good decision. I'm going to bowl a couple of PBA50 this year too. Figured what the heck, might as well give it a go. Turning 66 this year, and looking to go have a few good games, and maybe finish second to last. I'm a Hammer and a Motiv guy. I mix and match them for different patterns. I rolled a few Storm balls, but Motiv was my first love, then I started to add in the BW30, both Effects, Low Flare and tomorrow the Mania joins in. Motiv is Raptor Fury, Evoke, Subzero, Black Venom, Venom Shcock and the Yellowjack Tank. Looking forward to some new ball reviews from you. Good luck out there. Ten Back.
great move, been bowling Brunswick off and on for 40 yrs. Yes l have tried others but always go back to brunswick, I have always found storm way to jumpy for me, to quick,. brunswick gives you many other options seems like all Storm equip reacts the same way My bag consists of the Ocean Vibe, Black Widow Mania, Bruswick Ethos Hybrid and an old t zone for spares
Gotta respect the honesty here. As a 57y.o. 4th season bowler, my 3-ball arsenal is 2/3rd Storm...Phaze 2 and Phaze 5...3rd ball is BW Hybrid 2.0. My arsenal mimics your company affiliation.
Thanks for the video Pete, I think we throw it similar and I have always loved Brunswick balls, they just suit my game and seem to hit harder and match up to my game. I still love my Storm Code Black and IQ Ruby Red but I love my OG Radical Katana, I finally beat my high sanctioned league score of 278 and shot a 279 last Friday. Messenger in the 7th frame didn't cooperate. The Vaporize will be perfect for my house shot. HK22 is the best coverstock on the market.
Back in the day I remember almost getting on staff with storm back in 07. I only have thrown one storm ball and it was ok but it wasn't a bench mark ball. Rep at the time sent me 3 balls to try and I drilled them up and the rolled really bad. Did surface changes and plug and redrill and they just didn't match up with what i wanted or needed for me to feel confident in bowling regionals. Told the ball rep and he was 100 percent supportive of me and said I don't want to put you on staff if it will not be better for you and the brand. Still to this day i make storm balls look bad when they are not bad balls. They work great for a lot of bowlers just not me. I am also a Brunswick man myself
@PeteDohanJr I remember I crossed with you my 3 or 4th regional at royal z lanes in Surfside in myrtle Beach. You missed striking like 6 times in the 8 game set. That was the year i think you and Jason sterner were going hard for the points to get exempt.
I made the same switch recently and for much of the same reason in terms of ball motion. We keep seeing more and more friction with lane panels getting older. For me, it's even seeing more motion overall with balls like the Ricochet and Scorpion Strike. If you haven't drilled a Scorpion Strike, it's essentially like a Marvel Pearl & IQTP combination for me with HK22 obviously so still quicker down lane.
@ So, just for the money for the chance to win more money? I mean bowling doesn't even pay anything anyway like it did in the 60's. You can't earn a living at it anymore unless you are one of the top 5 pros on the regular tour and even then the actual bowling money is not that much compared to other sports. I am sure most of these Pros make more money on youtube than actually bowling which is pretty damn sad.
Great video Pete and looking forward to the upcoming ball reviews from the brands of Brunswick! Good luck this year!
Thank you.

I have the original Ethos and haven’t tried the Hybrid yet. The Black Widow Mania I’m planning on drilling next.
Great video Coach Pete

Sweet nice bowling. The Code Black was one of my favorites when I first signed with Storm. Thanks for watching.

@ I was battling John May for the points that year. Loved bowling at Surfside. The bar area was huge.
@PeteDohanJr now I remember. Surfside was great. Wish I was still bowling. Now I am lucky to get out to the lanes once a month
Great video! As you know, I Really relate to you
Yes you do.

I have drilled a Scorpion Strike and like it. Thanks for the comment and watching my content.
Good luck
Thank you.
My daughter always likes roto grip while I like the motive ball each their own I guess
All the companies make good products its about what ball shape matches your game.
Brunswick is a great company that is why I changed 5 years ago
Awesome. Thanks for watching.
So are you making more or less money?
Most staff contracts are not paid positions. Only PBA National Tour players receive salaries.
@ what really? That’s crazy. Good luck this yr hope
the change works for you.
@@Jdbreal299 thank you.
Storm balls tend to crack in half.
All bowling balls will crack. Gravity sucks.
Lol. Switch ball companies to tell you how much better it is. Wild people buy into this crap. Just say Storm didn't renew you. Lol.
Not true.
Why even have a brand? Just try everything and build an arsenal of what works. Mix and match.
Payment and/or gear reimbursement. Bowling is unfortunately expensive
SWAG Bowling it is!!
To get help from tour reps while bowling on the PBA 50 National Tour.

Im not a fan of ebi
Sorry to hear that. What brand do you like?
I call BS!! Your number 1 reason is more $$$$$
Yep. Finish higher in the standing in every tournament I bowl and win more prize money.
