This type of seam is called a flat felled seam and I use it a lot these days. Gives a nice flat and tidy effect on the inside of your garments without the need to zigzag the edges.

the fabric is light weight silk blend with blues/greens/purples...the second one has the same sort of color pallet but softer...it looks like something I would have ice dyed or if I did silk painting..
