I wanted to say thank you for this video. I've been planning our Yellowstone trip and having difficulty figuring out what do on which days, it's overwhelming. And then came along this new video! The map with the drawings helps so much. Well done! We have two nights at Mammoth and two nights at Old Faithful Lodge cabins in Sept (hopefully) and with the road construction it's even harder to figure out a plan.
This means a lot to me. I am SO JEALOUS you are staying at the Lodge!! I have more I can put in there, so maybe I’ll make some more videos. PLEASE reach out if you have questions.
I just came from Grand Teton & Yellowstone trip. I made it by following all your videos and tips. By the time I reached my destination I dont need to see a map or need a gps.Your tips and map guides were on the dot, I was amazed by how accurate it is. Thanks a lot
@@WereintheRockies I'm now an avid fan, I watched other vlogs and you tube channels yours is the best, informative. accurate, no drama or gimmicks fun but down to earth. God Bless your family!
I agree, I kind of winged it at Yellowstone, and I mistook the upper falls for the lower falls. We were trying to cram everything into one day, but it was impossible. Still had a great time though. Did you enjoy your trip?
You both are amazing. We will be there end of May for 8 days. I have watched a lot of videos on Yellowstone to help plan this for our group and I must say by far you both are on top with all the information you give and you break it down so great. Thank you
Thanks Matt for drawing everything on the map in different colors. Great visual I’m also visiting your website to purchase your audio programs plus itineraries.
As someone from the east coast I had jet lag which was perfect because we slept as soon as it got dark, in the summer, and we woke up at dawn and started out in our campervan and missed all the crowds with kids.
We are doing a National Park vacation this year, (end of August, first of September) from Florida. Going to start at South Dakota and work our way around and down to Yosemite. Is it less busy at this time? I'm so exited and your videos have been so helpful in trying to figure what to see and do. Thank You.
Can’t wait to see the falls....I am a falls lover...just seen some falls in Hocking Hills in Ohio and the Great Falls in Virginia/Maryland absolutely beautiful...which is actually my profile pic now...thanks for the video....
Don't make the mistake like us and go to the upper falls thinking it was the lower falls. I mean upper falls is a great looking waterfall, but I hear the lower falls is better.
We're in the Rockies have you been to grand Teton? That would be a great video as well. I love the mapping of the areas you visit. That gives the viewers a better understanding of where you are when you show the videos. I’ll watch anything you post.
Very cool video, got a lot of info out of it. Question: How is the phone reception at Yellowstone? Wondering if I'm going to be able to use my phone for google maps, or should i bring my GPS with me?
Apparently I'm your 6th subscriber! For a first-time Yellowstone visitor, this is one of the most helpful videos I've seen. The voice-over, the illustration on the map, and the video clips of the locations mentioned work together so well in combination! I think I'll mark up a map as you did to remind myself (when I don't have cell signal or time to review your video. For this summer, it looks like Fishing Bridge will be under construction, and the eastern part of the upper loop is closed, so I'll modify a bit. We'll be spending 3 nights in West Yellowstone and one night in Gardiner, so I think the end of our stay will be the time we'll visit Lamar Valley. Thanks for making such a helpful video!
Thank you so much! I made it exactly for people like you. :) Your first time!!!! I’m so excited for you. I once talked to a guy who was a world traveler and he told me he had been to the best national parks all over the world. He said Yellowstone was his favorite. I hope you enjoy.
@@WereintheRockies I see that someone else has already requested a video guide for GTNP, and I would love that as well! In Yellowstone, I would also like to know if there are hikes that shouldn't be missed (and how to get to them), how long it takes to get from one site to another (even though I know it varies with traffic), places to grab a quick bite in the park, use the restroom, gift shops, fuel - the basic things we'll want as we wander through the park. I apologize if I've listed items already mentioned in your video, but I've watched other videos and have forgotten which ones gave which information. We plan to spend 3 nights in West Yellowstone, so any info about where to eat, what to see would also be great. We're saving our 4th night for Gardiner, seeing part of the upper loop then, and traveling through the east part of the upper loop and Lamar Valley on our way out of Wyoming. I hope that plan works to our advantage! Timing everything is the hardest part for me, because I don't know how much to try to see in one day.
A few years back we were driving back from Hayden Valley to our campsite at Fishing Bridge when we were stopped by a Buffalo jam. When we got to the front of the jam there was a ranger there using a speaker in his car to sent Buffalo grunts trying to clear the road.
im thinking of going this year. i was thinking being of june before its to far in summer and not too hot. i most likely be staying in idaho falls since its cheaper but a 2 hour ride just to get there. since this is a big park i want to see as much as i can without wasting time. i be doing 6-7 days.
