@@BentJacket Thanks! I started the army at the beginning of 8th Edition and built the narrative from there - taking notes of which sorcerers joined and how they performed in battle. If you want to see more Thousand Sons, there's a five-part narrative campaign on Winters' paid channel that features every Thousand Sons and Tzeentch Daemon model I own: The Silver Cage.
1:05:20 Rules as written yes, deadly demise is a model affecting all units within range, there's no "except for his own unit". I've seen Necrons asking this about Silent King, I ctrl+F'd the FAQ and there's nothing about him or deadly demise interactions. So for now, apparently, both RAW and RAI seem to point to "create units out of deadly demise models at your own risk." EDIT: 1:21:23 Turning Stratagems to 0CP doesn't erase the penalty, meaning the stratagem still costs 1CP at that point.
Great battlereport! Couple of moments though: 1. Twist of Fate removed armour save, but not 6++ from zoanthropes 2. Zoanthropes' "lascannons" are lethal and auto wound on 6s to hit 3. Unit of 2 carnifexes never gains +1 to hit for 1 model being wounded, as it is multi-model unit and should be below half strength (less than 1/2 models alive, which is zero for 2 model unit) to gain bonus 4. Swarmlord's swords are twin-linked and can re-roll wound rolls
Nah, that was definitely when they started to have things that ignored invulnerable saves. Remove saves is something TS need as GW nerfed all their AP - inferno boltguns were effectively AP-4 in 7th ed, and dropped to AP-2, then AP-1 and remained the same price just about, thoug now they dropped to 19ppm from the ~24 they were.
1:36:20 when he was attacking the infantry with warpsmite, 4+ anti infantry and also devastating wounds... he said the 6 was devastating, when in fact both should have been devastating as the 4+ anti infantry triggers an automatic crit too as he rolled a 4 and a 6
For the Thousand Sons, Cabal rituals are done at the start of the phase so you need to pre-empt using them. The winged daemon prince wouldn't of been able to have the ritual done on them. Arhiman give his unit +1 to wound. Terminator sorcerer give the unit lethal hit as standard. He also has anti monster 4+
1:14:16 You can just feel the anger simmering. 1K Sons have soooo much BS for relatively little cost. "All my guns have Sustained, Devastating and Lethal Hits, also I ignore incoming damage also I turn off your saves". Thank god at least the last one was changed. EDIT: Winters should've won because those Terminators failed Battleshock. He already rolled his Battleshock test so he wasn't eligible for Insane Bravery.
@@WoffBoot The most fun part of that ability that the beast doesn’t have to do a move, it simply happens at the end of the move phase. Even if it hasn’t charged anything yet, but in that close range.
It's really funny from several Battlereps across YT that I watched of people playing Tyranids, the players always seem so unlucky rolling. I could swear this is the 3rd rep that I've seen where from 3 Zoanthropes only 1 hits and then either fails to wound or gets saved :) Just a very fun coincidence
Sad that it was recognised the Daemon Prince had been using the wrong toughness and said to kill it and then in the next breath, pulled out all stops to keep it alive... but otherwise, fun report! :3
I thought the same, also couldn't use the cabal thingy because it wasn't the start of the round. Especially when the Prince then wiped a unit of warriors, killed 2 zoanthropes, scored points for get behind enemy lines and then charged the big bug XD. In such a close game that totally swung the victory.
Very nice battle report, I enjoy a lot actually. Be careful, you wasn't actually able to save your winged demon prince with Ahriman, as far as "Echoes of the Warp" has to be chosen at the beginning of a phase !
great game as always guys, 1 thing to note, you need to be wholly within a ruin now to shoot out of it, can't just move up and touch them to see through.
Oh no oh no. Using the one shot profile of the Zoanthrope's against rubric marines. Even though the other profile is d3 damage with blast. Yikes.... 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Also the swarmlord's melee weapons are twin linked..
As simplified as the Thousand Sons are he still made several noteworthy mistakes 😅 like that terminator sorcerer is a lieutenant that gives his units lethal hits in both shooting and melee so that bonus lethal hits for psychic weapons was redundant on the terminators, and cabal abilities have to be used at the start of a phase so the prince with wings died to the warriors because Ahriman couldn’t have used his cabal ability then
The biggest challenge with playing Thousand Sons is keeping track of all the abilities, Psychic attack profiles, and using Cabal Sorceries at the start of phases.
@@Hajit2 I don’t know if the verdict from GW is out on that, but I’m pretty sure the swarmlord’s ability wouldn’t affect the free strategem. The order of operations there seems to be that the swarmlord increases the cost when the strategem is used in one phase, then in a later phase (after the +1 cost is applied) the ritual drops the cost to 0
@@HereticDave40k the commentary doesn’t say anything about the order of operations for cp modifiers specifically, and the commentary on modifiers in general state “you must apply division modifiers before multiplication modifiers, before applying addition and then subtraction” meaning the cp increase would be applied before the reduction to 0. A unit of 2 Carnifex has a Starting Strenght of 2, so only if one dies it is under its Starting Strenght...and so could it be ever under less than half of its Starting Strenght? Is a unit of two monsters quite useless in Crusher Stampede? Better to field only single monsters?
