You know, seeing Karkat in a more natural setting (See: not dealing with the humans or sburb/sgrub) is pretty relaxing. Like Nepeta, this is a side of Karkat I would have appreciated seeing a bit more of in Homestuck proper.

karkat makes me so emo FUCK spoilers like before all else karkat just CARES for people. he wanted to save mc from the sun, he refused to let sollux grt dragged into his own shit, and theres just this underlying feeling of frustration and resignation for alternia's shitty system. he freaks out in gamzee's closet BECAUSE he's a lowblood and gamzee's in the second highest caste. like he talked abt gamzee so affectionately before but as soon as he gets there, he is overcome with crippling fear. if he wasn't a mutant, there is an implication that karkat wouldn't be so reserved with his friends and would be an outwardly affectionate person. karkat just wants to make connections with people and outwardly care for his friend but his own self preservation gets in the way of that and you can see him struggle with that the entire route. ALSO WHATS UP WITH THAT IMPLICATION THAT SOLLUX IS PITCH FOR KARKAT

Maybe Karkat just panicked because he didn't know what Gamzee would assume and do to him and MSPAR since they randomly teleported into his hive without him knowing. He probably thought Gamzee, a highblood, wouldn't take too kindly to Karkat, a lowblood, and MSPAR, who Karkat at that time still probably thought was a blueblood or a jadeblood or was a different species all together which no matter what would still be lower than Gamzee, being in house without his permission, especially since in Alternia you could get instantly killed for that.
