Bmw e34 525i | first start after 10 years | M50b25 | BARN FIND

Found this BMW e34 525i on fb marketplace for a steal. Got her home and started first time after 10 years. Engine was froze and cylinders was full of water when I got her. it stood outside without sparkplugs. Took a lot of diesel fuel and oil mixture to brake free the engine. After assembling everything and replacing fuel pump it finally started and I heard that sweet m50b25 sound

Where is the compressor relay on this model 525i. The AC buttons do not light up and so no cold air. Have tried everything else. Thanks for your help. Puzzled me in BC.

Have you tried looking in the fuse box under the rear seat? A lot of the controls route back there. Otherwise, I believe the climate control module is under the center console (can be accessed by removing carpet panel in passenger foot well). Maybe that could be faulty

Thanks for these ideas. I have checked the compressor and clutch. Both work. Added Freon. Still those three buttons for AC and rear de- fogger don’t light. All fuses and relays in engine bay OK. Could it be pressure switch in AC system? Where are they located and can they be removed without releasing the refrigerant into the atmosphere. This Canuck appreciates your input.

@@frankfinney4304 there is a ac module next to the microfilter which can commonly go bad, I replaced it on my e34 and all three buttons worked again its called a IHKR for the ones with manual climate control and IHKA for ones with auto climate control
