    The gold pressure plates count entities, so the odd temporary signal strength increase is due to the temporarily additional entity of a single item. Once it joins the stack it decreases. If it joins the stack before it's on the pressure plate it won't increase the signal strength. Hope that helps clear up why it works that way.

    My first major redstone contraption I built in Minecraft bedrock edition on switch was a piston feed tape that transitioned pixel art pictures in a circular motion from left to right. That project took much, much, much trial and error and it basically all boiled down to trying to figure out how to power 4 sets of pistons in a moving system at the precise right time to make the image move. Quite a challenging build, 10/10 not a beginner project. Total time spent researching redstone methods to try this project: 4 years starting with minecraft java edition in 2015. Been a long time coming.

    I used to build redstone stuff in Java about 10 years ago. I love bedrock even if it's not perfect, but between being rusty and the redstone being different, I feel like I don't know anything when it comes to building anymore. I appreciate your video, it was very well explained. The unreliable powering/ticks at the end are really kind of annoying, but I also think some builds could benefit from having "random" input, like how Java has quasi-connectivity and people use the bug as a feature.

    I know absolutely nothing about how to use redstone, and this video explained what i redstone can and cannot do. It was quite helpful. One small comment is that the gold pressure plate might be useful when you need to know exactly how many mobs, or villagers, are on one block, but how to get the signal from the source to a place you could see it might be a problem.

  • @vapin9188

    The gold pressure plates signal strength is determined by how many different stacks or mobs are on it. It gives you that extended signal for a moment because the drops will merge into the same stack. Ex. you could have up to 64 planks for a signal of one but when you have 65 planks that will be a signal of two.

    Amazing explanation Jay! I am new to minecraft and redstone of course. I kind of understand the “gist” of it but not fully comprehend it well enough to create any contraception of my own. Java and bedrock working a little different make things more confusing. I am trying to find a tutorial on how to make a machine to build an aerial road (with cobblestone or any other block being 3 blocks wide) to connect places of interest in my world (base, portals, villages etc) for easier “comute” (I don’t have elytra yet). If you have any tutorial or know someone who does please let me know! I will have a “sneak peak” on your playlist! Thanks again for the amazing video!

    Can you reach how to link nether portals? (I know it’s not redstone related but I want to know and other videos aren’t that helpful) or make a video on how command blocks work?

    • @devionthomas4798
      @devionthomas4798 3 роки тому +1

      i'm not an expert on it, but all you need to do make a map and open it on the area in the overworld you want to travel ,marking it and then put it in your inventory. take your y cordinates and travel back to your base and make a nether portal there, once you do enter the nether portal and travel to the area you want to on the map from the nether and once you get there make sure your on the same y level as any open land is on or you will spawn in a cave system or high in the sky. make one more nether portal in that area and once you enter it, it should spawn a nether portal exactly where you want it to in the overworld give or take 5~10 block radius. i do this on bedrock and it's pretty easy, but not the best at exact locations, which is why you want the y cordinates. hope this helped you

    • @Sanidhy
      @Sanidhy 3 роки тому

      -Josh8 so... I have to divide the x,y and z coordinate with 8 in the overworked to find out what they would be in the nether?

    • @devionthomas4798
      @devionthomas4798 3 роки тому

      @@Sanidhy the only coordinate you really need is the Y/height coordinate if you do like me and start a new map where you plan on linking the portal from the nether, because wherever you make a portal from in the nether,as long as its 9 blocks away from another portal, it will be as the same x and z of the location of the map you are currently on.

    Because we have a signal variant on the gold pressure plate I might be able to make a logical switch to count things more precisely for stores. i.e 3 times an item is 3 lines of redstone which can power a rail with minecart and hopper which then will dispense the item you purchased as to complete the if statement

    • @tqrules01
      @tqrules01 3 роки тому

      I could place this after the comparator for the diamonds. i.e if it knows you are putting in diamonds then place set diamonds on gold pressure plate to count each item until it reaches the limit. The could prevent false positives which exist in existing shop designs.

    • @tqrules01
      @tqrules01 3 роки тому

      existing shop designs only verify item type and placing in to many diamonds at once can throw them off
