M1 Garand used 8 round enblock clips. 1903 Springfield used 5 round stripper clips. Pick a period, lol.
WWI, it would be the Springfield, which is a copy of the Mauser K98 (k).
The US paid Mauser a royalty for every stripper clip made, all though WWI. Irony, eh? Likely because it was 100% interchangeable with the Mauser offering of same.
