AWESOME!! Wow! Where to begin? So many cool techniques! I will say this: I really like the texture on the castle, among many other things. Thank you for sharing, my brother. - Rick, USMC
I’ve said numerous times how I like all your creations. But your L.o.t.R.’s diorama’s are my absolute favorites. They are museum quality. You Are A Master Craftsman worthy of Aulë’s training.
Thank you mate! Tried a different approach with the footage here to see if UA-cam would bite... didn't quite work, but still a worth while endeavour :D
My god, the amount of work you put into the tower only to cover half of it and cut up the rest. A lesser artist would have half-assed it, but you went all out. Respect
Sometimes it’s just nice to watch a chilled out video of someone making stuff. Great job, I really liked the approach to making the tower and land form, it really helped it naturally blend.
Yesss! I can't get enough of this diorama Michael! XD You know i always enjoy your presentation, the voiceover and the little funny skits of your videos a ton. However having the bare process of this spectacular build in focus here is an absolute treat!!
This was an incredible video! The spiral stair case made by hand was super impressive. I really enjoyed the original video, and liked all the discussion as you building the piece. This video seemed straight forward fun to watch.
I like both the theatrical videos like the previous version and straight crafting footage you create, I think this would be even better with just some small voice explanations for certain more complex aspects but otherwise its super chill watching so good job.
beautiful! you managed to do what many fan artists like me want, you reproduced this magnificent scene with excellence, please continue with your work, Weeta has to see you friend!! suggestion, the Argonath ❤️# Brazilians love The lord of rings.
I do enjoy this style of video - but I also loved the original. Particularly describing your thought process, and how you made those complicated angled cuts around the top of the tower.
Thanks for the feedback! Trying out different approaches ... need to find the right balance between the 2 styles. I just released a new video where its kind of half way between the 2. If you watch it please let me know what you think ;)
Hey, so I haven't been able to get it for a while either... They used to sell it at the under floor heating store online, but for some reason they only sell up to 10 mm thick now. I ended up getting my friend in Germany to send me some in a big box which is keeping me going!
@Nat1videos thanks for the reply mate. It's annoying that the building trade in UK use PIR foam as main insulation for houses, xps is much better for us modellers 😊
@@Treeslayer82 You can get it here..., search for Underfloor insulation Styrodur. This is the light green stuff, but it is XPS foam and it is just as good. They sell it in 100 mm thick sheets... Only problem is they don't sell it by the sheet, just big packs of like 6 sheets ... which most people can't store
Mostly because I enjoyed making the shape and I wanted to see it finished... but also because I didn't know exactly which side would be covered up as I wanted put it in side the foam for the mountain and carve it out. Lots of reasons really.... :)
If you read the books, or even watch the movie ... Gandalfs sword glows bright white when he fights and kills the Balrog. Gandalfs sword glowed bright white long before Star Wars was invented ;) lol
I’ll be honest, I preferred the original more. I find the talking more engaging, without my attention is wandering hence why I’m commenting instead of watching 😜
Fantastic build Michael. All those angle and shapes make my head spin.
Thanks Neil! haha yeah... it hurt my brain a little lol

Thanks so much Rick! Probably my favourite project... I enjoyed trying something new with the footage also. Hope you are well :D

Wow, thank you!
Still love this video. The music over the back was so fitting! Looking forward to this future project! Love your work bro.
Awesome! Thank you!
Truly impressive work Michael. I'm stunned by the level of detail in this. Broke my heart to see you putting the tower in ruins!
It broke my heart too lol
you have come a long way from when you started your channel, most incredible
Thanks so much! Been a bit of a journey... I used to get a lot more views so maybe I'm not improving hahaha
Absolutely stunning work mate. The architectural details you create with foam is damn impressive 👏👏

Thanks so much! That was fun to do... tried to make it look like the tower had been carved out of the stone of the mountain, rather than built ...
You do such detailed work! I really enjoyed all the different techniques you show. Just stunning ❤
Thank you so much!
So fantastic. You make complex cuts look so easy. The level of detail is just fantastic. Always love seeing a new video from you.
Thanks so much ! Figuring out the angles can be a little tricky, but Google is a great resource for that if you get stuck with the maths haha
That was incredible. The tower texture is such a nice idea. I'd have found it so hard to cut into and make look all destroyed haha
Cheers man! haha yeah, was tempted to just make a separate tower and not break it... but that would have taken too long lol

Thanks Martin! Fun to have an experiment and try a different approach with the footage. I find voice overs the hardest part to be honest lol
Breathtaking work of art! Thanks for sharing this inspirational build.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much :D

That was a exceptionally enjoyable experience. Thank you!
Thanks mate! Fun to try something different out :)
Absolutely amazing build
Cheers Lance ;)
I love this recut! Amazing build, amazing video!
Glad you like it! Thank you so much !

Thanks! I think some videos lend themself to both style... its fun to have an experiment :D

Thanks! 😁
GET THIS MAN MORE FREAKIN SUBSCRIBERS!!!! This stuff is SO awesome!! Keep it up!!
haha that would be nice! Feel free to share with anyone who might like it ;D
A balrog made of clear resin would be handy. The flames and smoke look great.
That would be pretty cool !
Amazing!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
If you sold blueprints or instructions, I'm pretty sure I would buy every single one.
haha thanks! Alas I'm not a great planner I just do.... but I am happy to answer any questions you may have at any time :)
Savage!
Cheers :D
So awesome! Would love to know where to source the thicker 50mm xps foam from in the uk. I Can only really get 10/20mm

Holy freaking wow. Wow....wow...wow.
Thank you :D
Holy moly
Thanks :D
might be my personal favorite for sure, love this build and the Balrog looks so SICK! ♥
Thank you! I had so much fun with the Balrog. Very proud how this came out :D
What is the thought process behind painstakingly modeling details which will then be covered up or carved away, and never seen in the final work?
Mostly because I enjoyed making the shape and I wanted to see it finished... but also because I didn't know exactly which side would be covered up as I wanted put it in side the foam for the mountain and carve it out. Lots of reasons really.... :)
@@Nat1videos fair enough! :) Such a gorgeous piece. So glad I got to enjoy it twice!
Holy moly this is epic, I need to find my jaw, it’s somewhere on the floor 😅
haha thank you :D
This is a nice video, though I do miss having your wonderful voiceover.
Thanks! Yeah, some videos will have voice overs and others maybe not... just trying out some different things on the channel :)
Wow!!!!!!
Thanks :D
holy shit
hahaha
❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍

Why the lightsaber???

04:30 you need a bigger brush mate... 04:42 even bigerrer!11!1!!111
haha nice spot!
@@Nat1videos Don't tell me you hadn't had a moment like that during painting... "I should get a bigger brush.... why am I using this tiny one?!" XD
