Cool stage. All I’ll say about Paul and the vocals is that I’m glad I saw KISS on the Psycho Circus and original Farewell tours. No one was wondering if it was live or memorex back then. No one is wondering now either, they know the answer whether they want to acknowledge it or not.
Brilliant performance as usual - these are men in their late 60's don't forget and I found this uplifting, entertaining and cool to watch. I shall miss them terribly.

Because we were curious if they were actually shooting themselfs in the leg by actually lip-synching. I was hoping the Kiss cruise gigs was because Paul's voice was shot those nights, not to dissapoint fans on the cruise, but they are actually going through with this. This is just sad.... Kiss "died" after the 'Sonic Boom' tour for me.
For everyone saying Paul is lip synching - he's not. This is not a professionally made video - I've made multi-cam videos exactly like this in the past. The editor has manually stitched together multiple videos from different hand held devices but used a single audio track (which ever one sounded best.) To do this, you have to manually line up the videos sometimes. So the video and audio came from different sources and are not perfectly lined up. Plus Paul stops singing at one point (around 1:24 I think?) and his voice is gone. You only hear Gene. Plus the audio is a little different than past performances. You know what - he just sounds better than people expected.
Well I can say one thing about Paul as a life long KISS fan who will be going to this tour to see my favorite band say goodbye.....You can tell that Paul hasn't lip synched his entire career up until this moment because man can you count the times where he screws up and exposes himself. Kinda sad to see that happen but at this point, it is what it is. Paul is old, his voice is gone and he's 'retiring' like all the detractors have been telling him to do the second his voice cracked on the reunion tour.

The issue here is that the show audio wasn't balanced right until about four songs in and Rogers Arena's acoustics are very sensitive to the audio mix (locals know this), if anything isn't just right there's lots of echo and reverb and with the volume that kiss plays at added to those conditions its very hard to get a good quality recording off of a cellphone irregardless of if it's a $150 LG like mine or an $1100 IPhone like the guy I was sitting net too on the train going home. I was there sitting one row from the front of the lower bowl directly facing the stage and I can say for certain that he sang every note of the show, his voice broke a couple of times but he was otherwise in top form for the opening night of the tour.

Cant wait to go see KISS when this tour rolls round to Glasgow Scotland in the summer. I really don't care about lip syncing or arguments about who is in the band or not, it's going to be brilliant to have KISS there in front of me and my family belting out there hits. And the stage show looks awesome, fireworks, flames, explosions and lots of cool things on the video screens. It will be sad to think this is the last time I will get to see them live but I will enjoy it while it lasts.. And if your really concerned about lip syncing then take a look at ZZ Top, or Ozzy Osbourne or any other of the heritage bands that are now knocking on a bit, there all doing what they can to "enhance" there performance it's nothing new. I for one don't see it as a big thing and I will enjoy every minute of this gig. A time is fast rolling round when these bands will be gone for good, best to make the most of it while you can...
Paul Stanley pretending to sing over a pre-recorded track on a live show is like placing a CGI love gun for a male star in adult film industry who can't do it anymore. Too much for this girl, sorry !
It is actually not a prerecorded vocal track. There is a singer backstage who is doing the part while Stanley mimes it. This way it sounds authentically live. He even does ad libs like "come on" and "i can't hear you" at coordinated times. Thr vocalist is a guy named Noel McCalla...he was the frontman for Manfred Mann for a while. You read it here first.
Seen em last night in Raleigh NC, OLD SKOOL KISS CONCERT. Only one song I did not know. 100,000 years, Love Gun, Black diamond, all old skool. pretty good show. Paul was a little bit off in the beginning of Detroit Rock City, quickly got around that. The crowd was loud and rowdy, good to see and feel that.
The number of comments here from people who think they're audio experts comes as no surprise. Happens all the time; everyone's an expert. Comment 11 states that Paul is off the mic at 1:06 yet you can still hear him. Basic physics: sound travels slower than light, and anyone who has seen an arena show from far back knows that you see the action before the sound, so look closer at 1:06. That shot was taken at quite a distance. In addition, at 1:23 Paul missed the line. 'You gotta lose your mind at Detroit Rock City', listen closely, you can only hear Gene's voice. If Paul was lip syncing, that line would not be missing in the audio. Finally, the bands normal tuning is called '1 step down', designed to assist vocalists to reach those high notes. This song traditionally is in the key of C#. One step down turns it into C, but in this video the song is in the key of B, indicating that Kiss are now tuned 2 steps down, to further assist the vocals. Why go to the trouble if they're lip syncing anyway? I'm not stating that the entire tour is gonna be mime free, but in this clip, I see no evidence of lip sync.
KISS are pioneers of what we now enjoy through so many styles of rock and metal. Their influences can be seen in all bands. Stop the high school bullshit and enjoy “ The performance “ . Saw Trans Siberian Orchestra a few months back. The stage looks alot like what they had going on . The big round things above them. Hope it's as good as TSO. Cause that was really cool. This is entertaining af and the main point of a gig is to be entertaining! Of course it's ideal that there wouldn't be any backing tracks etc but if the entertainment value of a gig starts to suffer from the singer's inabitility to sing then hell yes you should use backing tracks! And with Paul (for the past few years) this is exactly the case. Can't wait to see them live again ✌
Was there. He was absolutely not lip synching. Paul couldn't hit all the highs but sounded great. There was however a bit of a delay on the video screens to real time.
Been a fan since 1978. There is no doubt that Paul is using backing tracks. I saw the same exact set on the most recent Kiss Kruise. I was 7 rows back in the middle. He missed a few cues during that. You could tell the vocals were canned. I am not a hater at all. Facts are Facts. If you want to pay 100$ plus for tickets, that's your prerogative. They should at least be honest with the fans. In addition would it be so terrible to include one or two rare songs? Nothing crazy. Hide Your Heart is not a rare one. Anyway, Kiss is the band that introduced me to rock music and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for them. But at this point it has become a joke.
If only they had quit after their farewell tour. I wouldn't go to one of these shows if I were paid to do it. I just hope Ace visits Norway again soon.

This is a multi shot compilation synched to one audio source. I have been a KISS fan since 1978 and the best tour was the Farewell tour in 2001 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Australia. I got to see my childhood hero Ace Frehley live that night. Psycho Circus is the best KISS album ever. Sonic Boom and Monster were crap. I am not going to see them on this tour when they come to Australia. No Ace, no KISS!

This video is a compilation of different videos. Unless you are there in person, you can not tell by a video that is put together after the fact what is real and what is not. I for one know a singing voice can different than a speaking voice - Mel Tillis and Jim Nabors to mention a few. I will be there in Louisville, KY shouting for my favorite band of all time. First seen them live in 1977 and many times after that. Sad this is the end.

Finally, the bands normal tuning is called '1 step down', designed to assist vocalists to reach those high notes. This song traditionally is in the key of C#. One step down turns it into C, but in this video the song is in the key of B, indicating that Kiss are now tuned 2 steps down, to further assist the vocals. Why go to the trouble if they're lip syncing anyway?
I'm not stating that the entire tour is gonna be mime free, but in this clip, I see no evidence of lip sync.
KISS are pioneers of what we now enjoy through so many styles of rock and metal. Their influences can be seen in all bands. Stop the high school bullshit and enjoy “ The performance “ . I'm thinking Twenty One Pilots have a better visual stage show and they don't charge a bomb to be seen. They are also a band if people leave they don't replace them with fakers. Paul has really blown it not including Ace in this final tour. Possibly karma for all the crap he said in his book against Ace. As we all know Ace can sing all his songs without backing track. Something Paul can't achieve.

Saw Trans Siberian Orchestra a few months back. The stage looks alot like what they had going on . The big round things above them. Hope it's as good as TSO. Cause that was really cool. This is entertaining af and the main point of a gig is to be entertaining! Of course it's ideal that there wouldn't be any backing tracks etc but if the entertainment value of a gig starts to suffer from the singer's inabitility to sing then hell yes you should use backing tracks! And with Paul (for the past few years) this is exactly the case. Can't wait to see them live again ✌
Was there. He was absolutely not lip synching. Paul couldn't hit all the highs but sounded great. There was however a bit of a delay on the video screens to real time.

Been a fan since 1978. There is no doubt that Paul is using backing tracks. I saw the same exact set on the most recent Kiss Kruise. I was 7 rows back in the middle. He missed a few cues during that. You could tell the vocals were canned. I am not a hater at all. Facts are Facts. If you want to pay 100$ plus for tickets, that's your prerogative. They should at least be honest with the fans. In addition would it be so terrible to include one or two rare songs? Nothing crazy. Hide Your Heart is not a rare one. Anyway, Kiss is the band that introduced me to rock music and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for them. But at this point it has become a joke.

I have been a KISS fan since 1978 and the best tour was the Farewell tour in 2001 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Australia. I got to see my childhood hero Ace Frehley live that night. Psycho Circus is the best KISS album ever. Sonic Boom and Monster were crap. I am not going to see them on this tour when they come to Australia. No Ace, no KISS!

This video is a compilation of different videos. Unless you are there in person, you can not tell by a video that is put together after the fact what is real and what is not. I for one know a singing voice can different than a speaking voice - Mel Tillis and Jim Nabors to mention a few. I will be there in Louisville, KY shouting for my favorite band of all time. First seen them live in 1977 and many times after that. Sad this is the end.
