    It's a shame this is illegal in so many places. It almost seems like governments are opposed to the idea of anything people can do that's cheap and environmentally friendly.

      in Poland, if you chop down a tree (on your land) that is more than 7,5 centimeters wide you have cash consequences. but thats cool that changed in February this year ;)

    Unbelievable. I found this guy's UA-cam channel more than 6 years ago, and I watched every update video he made, showing his build progress. Fast-forward to today, and he's famous for it. So happy for him. :)

    Just an observation, and clearly too late to be of any use to the guy now, but generating his electricity by using the permanently running waterwheel would have been less taxing and pretty constant as compared to the bicycle

      He probably wanted the exercise. Being out in the woods doing nothing could leave you bored. If I was him. I would of just kept creating. Especially if no one really goes out there to bother him. He seems capable enough to make himself an actual cabin.

      Game Bred Duramax They probably noticed he was at a good location. Thus they wanted to build over that property.
      If he created a popular yourtube channel. I highly doubt they would. Basically doing something like *Primitive Technology*. Yet showing his day to day life as a hermit.

      the water wheel isnt very good...its to small might light an led not much more

    • @TheComputec
      @TheComputec 8 років тому

      1ukjunglednbraver Gearing could sort that out and anyway it would be a 24/7 supply. Hook up a charge controller and a battery bank and he could easily generate and store enough for a couple of lights and a USB Charge station

    Daniel has had his court date , and has been given his eviction notice. That's it. After a certain amount of days , Daniel is no longer aloud to live on this tiny piece of land in the middle of nowhere. They will demolish the house and
    Leave Daniel to start even further at the bottom than he was. If you want further details or know a way to possibly help, please get in touch through here. Thanks for all your support. facebook.com/Help-Daniel-Pike-keep-his-Woodland-house-1523843434579173/?fref=ts

    If he were really industrious, he would build three more huts and charge rent. Put the huts under management to get better tenants. My dad says, "Always have at least three properties." My mom says that "...your daddy is talking about girls in reserve." Whatever that means.

      You need to own the land. You need permission. You can't have a unsafe house like this,
      In the UK landlords are required to have Fire alarms and carbon monoxide alarms
      Also who would pay too live in these houses?

    This dwelling might well be on a tiny piece of land but it is certainly not 'in the middle of nowhere'. Just to get a sense of proportion on the story, there is no such place as Watford Forest. There are no forests in Watford. Watford is on the borders of Greater London inside the M25 with a population of 95,000. The woodland in and around Watford consists of small pockets of woodland managed by the Woodland Trust. This is Merry Hill, a 76 hectare wooded habitat, managed and maintained by the Trust, a charity that protect woodland and the associated wildlife. His hut is only a 15 minute walk to the nearest road. It's not the outback. How can anyone believe that moving (without permission) into such a small piece of woodland earmarked for the conservation of trees and wildlife and building a house is a good idea and can be permitted?
    Not that the quality of the build is relevant, but this is not the cute mud and thatch structure that the opening shots suggest. At 0.57, that looks to be concrete blocks covered in mud with a plastic sheet roof. With a purple gazebo.
    I sympathise with the homeless people of Britain, but squatting off grid is not the answer and it creates problems of it's own. Britain's green belt and woodland are being squeezed more and more. Maintaining natural environments free from human occupation is more important than ever. Allowing this guy to stay sends out all the wrong messages.

    • @El-Leion
      @El-Leion 5 років тому

      if there is not much green left, we must protect it.. the mud hut was all clay, stone and straw, no concrete involved lol.. its all environmentally friendly apart from the removeable tarp on the roof that was temporary anyway. If people want to save the land, then live in the land with it, rather than destroy the land, build over it, and have it gone in a spectacle of shops and houses. people usually think of pikeys in their caravans leaving a mess.. but why do they associate that with what im doing? should i also be associated with the acts of the industries, pumping chemicals into the oceans, and polluting the land?? what type of thinking really does these kind of things? perhaps its better this mental illness is treated rather than squander everyone for the acts of these mentally ill people.
