V - On Arpeggio Waves (Prepared Drums Studies)
This improvisation features no preparation of the drumset but was generated by the idea of an arpeggiator in the synth world. So I guess it can be seen as the oddball of this series, even though coming from the same aesthetic origins. The soft mallets on the clear heads create a deep bass continuuous rumble that pushes the flux forward, along different groupings and dynamics, in a one gesture mantra.
Heaphones are mandatory, on this one.
It's the fifth of a series of 6 video sessions on some of my personal drums extended techniques and sounds. They'll be released in June as a digital album at pedromeloalves....
