I would look into ARM as a downpipe option. Their "Catted" downpipe is high flowing, and very daily-able while still giving you the satisfactory sounds we enjoy from these VAG motors.
Hey brother, I have the same exact GTI, now I had my car for about 3 years going on 4. I moved to Georgia about a year ago from Texas. Unfortunately due to not understanding the timing issue, I owed my self an engine. I work so hard bring this car to life and after $8,000 it’s finally finished. This is worth a shot, but I could use someone like you that is knowledgeable about these “German” cars. I hope to meet you one day. And I still have my Texas plates😅
