Would love to make these myself but a bit confused about adjusting the measurements, I don't think I'm smaller than you but the calculations for my waist/hip come out wayyy smaller. Not sure if I'm doing this right? Waist or hip divided by 2 then add 12?
Waist divided by 2 then add 12, and hip divided by 4 then add 7.

Interesting to go to the bathroom with, is it a skirt situation where you lift everything up? Or do you untie it and gather everything upfront or what?
This is a really important question! I would definitely like to add this garment to my cruise clothes collection. However, it can be difficult enough with choppy water to gracefully use the restroom with a regular skirt/pants.
@@barbarapreis6596 These tie-on pants allow you to untie the back and keep the front on while you're doing your business...but you'd have to pull the back piece under your legs and hold it in front, to keep it from touching nasty public toilet floors.

You have access to excellent quality fabric in your country. The combination of drape, natural fibres, and body (good weight in hand) are hard to find in North America.
They are available. It just depends on your location and how much you are willing to pay. Plus, professionals, as she clearly is (she's sewing on a commercial machine), on any continent always know how to source fabric better than the rest of us. But honestly, I don't really see a difference between her fabric and things I've seen at Joann Fabrics, though it does depend on which store you go to. Though maybe I shouldn't assume you have that by you.

THUY, how do know were to place the darts? I don't sew very often, sometimes I get the sewing bug and sew a couple of things, however, they don't look very good after I am done. Lol

Would have been cool to know in the beginning I needed another yard and a half of fabric for the waistband.
Except you shouldn't for the most part. You might need a little extra depending on the length of the belt vs the length of the pants, but you wouldn't need a full extra yard and a half. There should be sufficient length from the leftover piece that would have come off from the width of fabric vs width of the main pants piece. For instance, even a really large waist, say 55", following her formula, after cutting the main pants piece from the 37.5" wide fabric, there would be a leftover piece that was 5.5" inches wide by whatever length was needed for the height.
Plus, in the U.S., at least, this kind of fabric is often found wider than 37.5" At a big box fabric store, you're more likely to find it in widths from 50" to 60" inches. So the leftover piece would be even wider! 😁
Best regard. Taking into account that the videos are seen "all over the world", I think it is a sign of respect to at least show the measurements in centimeters, which is the other most used measurement.
Or you respect the Work and effort she designated in this Video and Just do the math... (I am from Europe and very thankful for any free Tutorials...)
