Tragic, but he lost sight of his child for long enough time to wander away into danger; the park is no substitute to supervision on a 5-year old, especially an autistic 5-year old. The sensory accommodations are for the children, not to replace parental supervision. Forget the gate, it could have been a bee, rat poison, a snake, a junkie's needle, a rabid racoon, etc. A child that needs constant supervision can't be left alone to roam. Sad, but it's not the park's fault. It's not the dad's fault either (as long as it wasn't neglect). It's just a tragic accident.
