Taikyoku Nidan Shotokan Kata

Taikyoku Nidan - This is the second of six Taikyoku kata called Taikyoku Nidan. It is the same as Taikyoku Shodan but with high punches. Taikyoku translates to First Cause in English.
In Master Gichin Funakoshi’s book, ‘Karate-Do Kyohan’, he writes; “In karate, there is no advantage in the first attack. It is for these reasons that I have given them the name Taikyoku.”
