@@tomdalfonzo9959 '08 sucked, but the attendance could have recovered had the series not decided to start piling on the gimmicks in an attempt to draw in fans. As the above video proves, the racing wasn't bad at all.
@@MateusGowen wonder what switching to the GP circuit will do for attendance. The roval races are some of the most interesting IMO, fun to see these drivers out of their element with a whole different set of challenges.
Nothing shows Danica’s lack of talent more than the fact that her, the focus of the team at this point, finished 2 laps down while newman, the usuallu forgotten member of the team, dominated
The bigger slap in the face to Newman was Tony Stewart, his owner and supposed best friend, not renewing his contract saying it was a “business” decision, as he was cutting Stewart-Haas to a 2 team operation of himself and Danica, only to hire Kevin Harvick and field a 3rd team for Harvick the following year while Newman was out of a ride. Luckily Newman landed at RCR where he was able to win another race and even finish second (unfortunately to Harvick and Stewart Haas) in the 2014 chase. Since his last two sub par seasons driving for Roush, minus his last second crash where he should’ve won the Daytona 500, I can’t help but hate Stewart and Harvick even more as Harvick has been quite successful, and Harvick wasn’t much better of a driver than Newman during their careers, proving the old belief that it’s the equipment more than the driver sometimes. Newman deserved a better end to his career. Meanwhile Stewart and Harvick got to ride to championships and glory while Newman was stuck with crap cars, and Danica retired never winning anything and had a career that spanned 1/4 what Newman’s was. Life just isn’t fair sometimes.
Lack of talent in a stock car, to be fair. She wasn't half bad in a single seater, and wasn't the first IndyCar driver to fall flat in stock cars (ahem....Franchitti).
Thanks for uploading this race
Would anyone agree that Ryan Newman and Matt Borland was one of NASCAR's most dynamic driver/crew chief partnerships?
I was at this race
Ryan Newman's 17th Career win.
This was his second biggest career win after the 2008 Daytona 500.
@@tomdalfonzo9959 and his 2002 the winston win.
At the time I thought this was a bad crowd ... now NASCAR and IMS would kill for a crowd like that lol
Greyson Danger it all went wrong when Jeff Gordon and smoke retired
@@Kyleconley59, it really all went wrong in 2008.
