I'm a high school student in Japan, but I often watch your channel to learn English, and it is a lot of fun in learning things in Japan I even don't know at all.
I watched the periscope stream, both girls did a great job, very relaxing music. Really happy to find out there is 2 more videos coming!, this one was great.
Omg that hotel room is beyond words! The pink room is really pink, I love it! What a perfect town! Your meal look so good! The room you stayed in was really nice! Ty so much for sharing your trip! These kinda vids are my fav! Love ya!❤️
Oh my goodness, I would love to stay in that pink hotel room! It's so beautiful! People always share those pictures of pink, Hello Kitty themed bedrooms and talk about how insane and over the top they are and meanwhile I'm like "...I want my future house to look exactly like this!"
I'm sorry, I can't tell if the girls are wearing yukata or kimono but whichever it is - both of them are so beautiful! I really love the prints! The polka dots one is so different to what I've seen before! The food looks delicious, too; was it difficult to have a vegan meal prepared for you at the hotel you were at or were they understanding? I worry a lot about eating at non vegan places in Japan. I saw that konyaku stuff in an asian supermarket over here in Scotland not long ago! It said vegetarian squid on it and I almost got some to try until I realised I would have no idea how to cook it or what even to eat it with!
Those girls rock out so hard. I think I remember seeing a video of them on here. I love Japan's veggies especially their green onions. they are massive.
This was so great! I loved how you put in the kana's for some of the things you were explaining. The video looked like such fun, I hope you enjoy it there to the fullest! Fantastic video Sharla!
Unsure if you have been there or not, but there is a beautiful train ride going from Odawara to Hakone from memory. It's an older train, in great condition that stops at certain spots on the mountain so you can take photos etc. A day trip is nice but the Ryokan's there are amazing.
One time I took a bunch of acid and for some reason this picture on the wall turned into Sharla's face and we had a conversation. I wish I was making this up.
Love watching you travel around and showing us different parts of Japan! Something I noticed that you did in this video (and I think it's such a great idea!) is highlighting some of the Japanese terms/vocabulary that was used/relevant to the content. It would be such a great way for us foreign viewers to learn some vocabulary in Japanese without seeming forced or hopefully too much work on your part. It also really adds to the understanding of the video I think, since you make it clear what you're referring to. Just a couple words that you think are important to the video (or maybe you refer to pretty often) would be great! :) Love your main channel and vlog content!
Are you going to Kochi? I lived there for three years and love it. It's too bad you just missed the Yosakoi festival. I recommend checking out Hirome Ichiba and the Makino Botanical Gardens. Also, you can't miss out on the fresh katsuo no tataki (seared skip jack tuna or bonito as some people call it) which you can get at Hirome. Enjoy your trip!
I really loved Matsuyama! Definitely one of my favourite places in Japan to travel. Hopefully I can go back to Shikoku to see more of it. Looking forward to the next parts! :)
Maybe this is still coming in one of the other parts, but you seriously need to take the train from Kobe over the Seto Island sea all the way down to Kochi. It's beautiful, cutting through valleys and cliffs and little towns perched on the side of canyons.
You should try to go to the Gaiya Matsuri in Uwajima (Ehime) It's a summer festival and it is FANTASTIC!! (Ehime "oranges" are known as "clementines "or "cuties" in America)
This place looks so amazing! I need to do and experience all of the things. By the way, Sherry would be drastically wrong about that being the only onsen in all of Japan, that allows tattoos. What they may be, is the only onsen in Japan, that allows you to leave your tattoos exposed. There are actually a great deal of onsen in Japan that allow tattoos, so long as you have something to cover them with, and many actually provide sleeves and pieces used specifically for covering tattoos.
Ohh the Ehime mascot is so cute :) I started a travel club at my college and I just hope I can find some people who would love to visit Japan as much as I would ^^
I love the editing and caption inserts with the vocabulary in! Ehime is on my list of places to see. I'm also vegan, so it's good to see hotels are willing to accommodate. Hope you make it to Kyushu and Hokkaido soon :-)
Kind of funny. On the one hand I envy you for actually living in Japan for so many years. On the other hand, during my travels to Japan, I had the opportunity to travel to all four of the main Islands and also Okinawa-honto. That's probably the difference between vacation and actually living in a country :-) For your next travel, you really should visit Hokkaido!
My grandparents are from e hime Ken, It's nice to see where they lived in Japan, I am told by relatives in Japan I have to visit the family grave there
I love Shikoku. One of my first trips after moving to Japan was to Shikoku actually. I've been there many, many times, simply because I always lived rather close to Shikoku. I still want to do the cycling tour from Hiroshima to Ehime one day. ^^
Hey Sharla! I'm trying to learn Japanese like natives would learn it at school; are there any good kindergarten or very basic text books used in Japanese schools that I could use to learn Japanese? xoxo
i totally understand that honshu-centric existence. i really need to visit the other islands. i spent one weekend in okinowa, but shikoku, kyushu, and hokkaido are all on my list, still.
I really like your way of introducing new vocabulary in japanese :D I've been to Japan twice but never asked for the japanese word of cicades xDxD Love your channels
In the hotel (yokon? I didn't quite catch the name..) do you have to pay extra for the tea and the toothbrush and stuff? I haven't stayed in hotels often but there were always water bottles and snacks which no one ever eats 'cause if you do they'll charge you extra. Is it the same or is this all included in the price you pay anyway?
I'm a high school student in Japan, but
I often watch your channel to learn English, and it is a lot of fun in learning things in Japan I even don't know at all.
Aww that's so nice! I hope you learned something from watching my videos :)
Orange souvenirs, can't wait to buy them... For my friends.
I was scrolling down comments and she said that as soon as I was reading your comment 😆
+Deluxe 4 haha
I love floral themed art. The first room was so lovely.
I just realized every painting I have in my apartment has flowers. The obsession continues...
The musicians are absolutely stunning. And their kimonos are simply spectacular.
I love when you put translations for Japanese words on your videos. It's so helpful!
Loved the "blue" room with Sakura? drawing and the Shamisen music performance.
Have to look that up on UA-cam & Google.
Sharla, I love that you're adding the bit of vocab in your videos! It's done very tastefully and organically. 😊
Love the Shamisen music! Those girls are amazing! Totally gorgeous over there! Thanks for sharing!
STOP TRYING TO CONVERT ME SHARLA lol
Great times. So many things in there I forgot about
....the ice... (>_
Hahaha so many good memories. I'm looking forward to editing part two :D
It looks like you are having a wonderful time! Thank you for sharing your experience and I look forward to the next part!
I've visited Tokushima for the famous dance carnival last year. It's just a few hours away from Osaka and loved the every moments we spent there.
lovely video as always thank you for letting me experience Japan through your eyes xx
I love it when you put the words and meanings in your videos because that way I learn vocabulary while watching a great video! Thank you Sharla 💜
OMG the performer's yukatas are gorgeous! 😍😍
Love ya!❤️
The little tidbit translations you put in are really helpful! Thanks so much, I hope you keep adding them!
Thanks for filming & sharing 😊 So much fun

😄 so kawii! (hope I spelt that right) can't wait for more, I ❤ your videos you have such a soothing persona.
I loved the close ups and break down of the food. All the little details are so fascinating and intimate. Great video :)
Those girls rock out so hard. I think I remember seeing a video of them on here.
I love Japan's veggies especially their green onions. they are massive.
Good job on Day one! I'm sure it takes some mental and physical exertion!
Wow 10 years already. Senpai!!!
"Even the cats are orange :D " XD SHARLA. haha.
I live for your videos! They give me so much hope for the future ❤
I love your enthusiasm and excitement over everything. (I really notice this with food, like the vegan cuts video, lol). It makes it so fun to watch!

Love your channel!!! 💕💕 I love watching your videos!
This looks like so much fun ! Norm was really funny too :) I can't wait to see the rest :D
I really enjoyed this! when Sharla travels it becomes a visual treat/experience for us as well XD thank you Sharla
One time I took a bunch of acid and for some reason this picture on the wall turned into Sharla's face and we had a conversation. I wish I was making this up.
well was it at least an interesting conversation?
sounds pretty lit
would be more impressive if you were transported in your trip to the edo period and wandered around instead of this.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did... and I'm only watching it LOL I soooo want to experience that one day. Many blessings!
Flower power room was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yassss Barenaked ladies lol 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Awesome trip. Can't believe you've never been to Shikoku in 10 years in Japan. I love ryokan too and stay in one in Tokyo when I vacation in Japan.
Wow, those hotel rooms are so gorgeous!
This was a fun video to watch Sharla! I like how you implement a few Japanese words so we can learn some too. ^^
Going to Shikoku to do the pilgrimage next year. Going to have to check out the hotels when there.
I always wanted to go there and now even more ♥ Thanks for sharing!
Your food looked so amazing!

My favorite part of the video, "Is that for your feet? OH LOOK AT THE BUTTERFLY!!!"
YAY ONSEN THAT ALLOWS TATTOOS! Hopefully heading to japan next year so its good to know a place i can enjoy the onsens!
I'm not sure if you have answered this before but what got you interested in Japan and how did you get started with everything ?
I love the editing and caption inserts with the vocabulary in! Ehime is on my list of places to see. I'm also vegan, so it's good to see hotels are willing to accommodate. Hope you make it to Kyushu and Hokkaido soon :-)
I'd love to visit that place someday!
00:37 sharla could so totally rock the short hairstyle!

I went to quite a lot of Onsen and Sento in Hokkaido and I have tattoos :) there were some that I was turned away but otherwise I went to so many!!
Loved watching this! Thanks for sharing, Sharla :)
Your friends beard is freaking amazing! I am just starting out on mine (4 months).

Nice vid!! ^^ loved Kiki's music
I loved this video (I love all ur vids 💖
Love the music!
初めのBGM、すごくいい感じですね!
Please come to kochi!!
Omg it's so beautiful, I wanna go there too 😍
thank you Sharla for sharing this experience with us! 😊

Hope you're having a great experience! :D
Dougo Onsen was shown in anime, "Spirited Away".
邦題:千と千尋の神隠し
Before you leave, plant a potato in a random to mess with the locals.
What do you mean?!
hory shet. Viet Lee is everywhere.
+Eric ohh yeah, that's the potato man!. He changed his icon pic, didn't recognized him!
i totally understand that honshu-centric existence. i really need to visit the other islands. i spent one weekend in okinowa, but shikoku, kyushu, and hokkaido are all on my list, still.

私も松山に住んでますよ。8月中旬は出かけてたから、入れ替わりだったかな?

Nope they are always included in the price :D Stuff in the fridge you will often have to pay for, but it will be labeled.
Just when you pointed out the butterfly in the video, a real moth flew against my window haha!
Totally thought of the Orange anime at 3:37 :D
