I was laughing like I was crazy when Matt was eating the snail. The look on his face was priceless. I just enjoy you guys so much. Keep up the Great Videos. May God Bless.
In 1984, I lived in and got married in New Orleans. Our wedding dinner was at The Court of Two Sisters. The waiters would watch your table and scrape any little crumb away and immediately bring you anything you needed. The food and service back then was tremendous. We each had lobster au gratin … for 2 people it came to $100.00 … loved to see you both enjoying the beautiful food and ambience!
That's incredible! It's great to hear the history of this place and the memories people have made. We absolutely loved our experience at The Court of Two Sisters, we hope to return someday! Thank you so much for watching and sharing such a beautiful memory with us. We hope your 2025 is off to a great start!
I’m from Birmingham, Alabama. New Orleans is one of my top 2 favorite places on earth. Second behind my beloved Gulf Coast. Makes my heart smile to know you guys love it too. This evil doing has taken a few from my home state. My heart is broken from this act of evil and senseless. Thank you for being you. I’ve followed you guys for a long time. Be safe and God Bless.
You guys look great...I was laughing the whole time with the turtle soup and escargot...I had escargot one time and I still gag thinking about it..the texture was awful...Happy New Year!!!
First of all, I love you guys. How neat that you were able to spnd Christmas in New Orleans and have dinner at that restaurant. My grandmother was German and she made authentic turtle soup often. I didn't like it as a child, but grew to like it. I remember she added vinegar to the turtle meat (making it taste a bit sour). I just tried to remeber it was like chili. If I went down a ribbit hle and thought about the turtle, his shell, and bathing, I would never eat it again. Matt is so funny. I do not like oysters or snails, they taste like rubber bands- too rubbery. I also don't like mushrooms either. Duck is very oily, greasy, and fatty. You guys are troopers for getting innto the culture and experience of the city and the restaurant. I love you both dearly and enjoy each and every one of you videos. Thank you for being you!!!
Thanks for the kind words! We love trying new things and having new experiences. The turtle and escargot tasted fine....it's just the thought if the animals that turned me off them, lol! We appreciate you so much and hope you're 2025 is off to a great start!
Girl you did better than me! The first and LAST time I had Escargot, was at a 5 Star Restaurant in Hawaii. It went in my mouth and then into my fancy white napkin 🤢 It tasted like a wet musky molded basement. I was told it was an Acquired taste. I guess just don’t have the acquired taste 🤣 Now the fried oysters 😋 especially with blue cheese! Glad you guys enjoyed your trip. Thanks for sharing!
I hear ya! Some things are just not for everyone and that's okay! Trying new things is an important part of life...but that doesn't mean we have to like them all, lol! Thanks for watching!
You're certainly more adventurous then me, LOL Prayers for those killed and hurt. My prayers are that if someone is troubled, please seek out Jesus, any church will help. Let's just love each other. Happy NEW Year! God Bless
That blue is definitely your color!!! And good for you guys. I like to try things but not when it comes to meat. I already am not a huge meat eater.. Matt asking you all the questions & you are trying it for the first time too… Matt taking so much is cracking me up!! I read this is very popular there. And the sherry is suppose to give it that sherry taste… However I can eat the turtle before I eat snails!! Good for you guys for being good sports!!
You made us chuckle worrying about eating turtle when the next course was snails and oysters. Non of them for us thanks. Good for trying!!!! Beautiful place.
At the end of the video was the naked topped statue of the 2 women to represent the 2 sisters? Would have loved to have seen dishes from the main menu. The turtle soup looked stringy and the snails looked like they would have the texture of thick, dense fat. A lot of money spent on the only edible items, bread and the desserts. Happy you two enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!
Not sure about the statue, but maybe? We enjoyed ourselves here and would definitely go back. Perhaps then we could try some items from the main menu. Thanks for watching and commenting!
turtle soup, a stewlike soup made with turtle meat, common in Asia and in Creole cuisine in the United States. The soup gets its consistency from a roux, a thickening agent made by cooking flour and fat together. Turtle soup also typically contains turtle stock, hard-boiled eggs, and various spices and vegetables.
Isn’t it terrible that we can’t just enjoy everyone being who they are. What is up with people being offended over what others like, or don’t like? We pay for our food if I want to healthy, unhealthy, that’s my business!! If I want or don’t want to try something that’s me!! Same with everyone else. I’m not a Chick-fil-A fan but glad everyone else likes it’s.. I couldn’t imagine getting offended over what others eat or don’t eat!! We all have something weird we all like or don’t like.. I’m with you all the thought of some things turn my stomach!! A few years back we ate at one of the best restaurants and my husband, oldest daughter and her husband had shark steak. They said it was absolutely one of the best things they had ever eaten. Me? I couldn’t try it!! But I had a great steak that I cut with my fork… sadly covid closed down that restaurant… it was called Fat kahunas!!
I absolutely loved the romantic atmosphere, it was very mystical elegant yet laid-back. I agree with the choices of your meal, not for me with the exception of the "dessert show" & enjoying it. Your Christmas treat was very nice. And trying new things in such a different atmosphere was the best way to learn what you like. Thank you for sharing your special dinner with all of us. So beautiful & you both looked so nice! Merry Christmas friends! 🎄✨️
Thank you so much for your very kind words! We has such a wonderful time here, and we're so glad you enjoyed the video. We hope that you had a great Christmas and that your 2025 is off to a great start!

Matt talking about turtles being dirty. Just think snails leave a slimy trail.
Thank you so much! We are very casual people, as you know, but it's fun to get dressed up occasionally. This place was so magical, we had such a wonderful time! The snails were slimy...just very, very, very, chewy. Literally like a garlic gummy bear. They weren't bad....I just can't get over the mental aspect of the snails and turtles. Thanks for watching!
snails are amazing..its the texture,... people enjoy food for flavor and texture...taste are subjective .... everyone has their taste preference and that is completely ok.. no one should get upset for their own opinions.. people are snowflakes and pansys nowadays..who cares..enjoy yourself yall!!
We love trying new things! Tastes are certainly subjective. Everyone will have their own experience and opinions. Thanks so much for watching hope your year is off to a great start.
I love snapping turtle. My Dad would get one and my Mom would make snapping turtle Parmesan. It was delicious. Tasted similar to chicken. Glad you tried it. Don’t know if you don’t try. Thank you both.😊
