Hi James. Thanks for these Colonel Littleton product reviews. The extra tanning process and build detail in your comments, and in the high definition video capture, is critical to many of us. Well done.

I have one of these, going on 6 years nothing but compliments, easy access ...perfection....love this bag, probably my favorite bag.

Would love to see updated reviews of these, just to see how they hold up with extended use.

A man of his word! Beautiful bag, but the color is considerably darker than I imagined! Not that it takes anything from it aesthetically, it was just a bit of a shock. My choice between this and the heirloom bag has just become that much harder. Great job!

I have one, think I purchased it two years ago. A definite conversation piece, not sure it was worth the cost but ... I have a weakness for unique looking leather briefcases/bags. I just wish the back piece was the length of the front, so it would sit flush when placed on a table, though if it's full enough it seems to 'even' out. One thing I do notice, is yours has that extra pull dot closure, not sure if it's something they added, and yours is newer. Or, something they removed, and mine is newer.

I just ordered mine. The Col has this bag in the "Last Chance" section of the website. Picked it up for $600!

It is a fantastic bag made from beautiful American veg. tanned steer hide. I hope you love it as much as I do!

I like that the Colonel did not see the need to add three rivets to the lower gusset.

With the rear rivets on for the far right and far left of the copper bar, could those rivets have been placed below the level of the bar instead of above the bar, or were there other considerations that had to be addressed? I don't like how the leather fob unnecessarily stresses against the rivet at 6:00. Or maybe there is not that much stress due to the three middle supports for the rod.

Those rivets are there to keep the copper rod in place. They prevent the rod from working it's way out one end or the other. There are copper caps on the end of the rod and they butt up against those leather end pieces held in place with the rivets. The three heavy duty supports in the center are what carry the weight of the bag.
