There are some of these concepts that I certainly approve of. Not so much White-Suit Vader or similar designs, but I like the thought of characters in the opposite role of what they were in the movies.

@@Dragon359 white suit Vader actually comes from the Star Wars infinity comic books (a what if retelling of the original trilogy) where he comes back redeemed and yoda fuckin drives the Death Star into courascant killing everybody just to end the emperor once and for all. It’s so stupid and amazing. But just so you know the three comics aren’t a single narrative it’s just a what if for each respective movie. I still recommend checking em out just for the lols

Did not think these ideas were stupid at all. I think most of the, except swol Vader, could have fit rather well into an alternate timeline. Also white armour Vader was the armour he was first envisioned to wear in the films before it was changed.
it's also the armour he wears in the what if comic where luke saves anakin and they try to keep him from being taken to trial

Right? This guy was trying to give an original backstory to why light or dark switched sides while mocking the entire thing. But even his quick comments on a lot of them could be a good starting point.
And honestly with Star Wars and Marvel being owned by Disney, I’m sure we’ll see the Multiverse play into this alternative timeline eventually.

Palpatine didn’t kill Eeth Koth. Vader did. The Zabrak Jedi that Palpatine killed in that scene was Agen Kolar.

I agree. Especially when we saw dark version of Rey and Ben Solo in action.
But I would prefer it to be clash of some dimensions: OG heroes and villains meet their versions who switched sides + the third dimension is where Vader becomes the emperor, Grievous isn't a cyborg and Leia is a Jedi instead of Luke etc. I think a game like Battlefront should have this concept as a base for it.

I would love a game that's all about playing an original, completely non-canon character, and just completely messing up the timeline. Jedi, Sith, bounty hunter, Nightsister, whatever the case. Hell, maybe you could change class throughout the game. Choose whether or not to be Force-sensitive yourself, choose a date to start from, maybe choose your starting age (probably couldn't go lower than eight), your homeworld, and then it just puts you somewhere based on what you started with, and then you just go from there. Get discovered by the Order, turn to the Dark Side, team up with Jango... Maybe you could even play as a clone, and you have to find out about the loyalty chip in order to fight against its power.
That is to say, you wouldn't be able to change anything your character doesn't know about. If you're a rich Tatooinian during TPM for example, you'd have to actually know about Jinn & Kenobi's disputes with Watto in order to fund the hyperdrive replacement. Maybe you're going about your business and you happen to overhear them going "Credits will do fine." and "No, they won't!" You could be screwed out of various opportunities by just never finding out in-character why you should go do something. For example, if you're still a Padawan during RotS, you probably wouldn't be able to just wander up to a Council member and hear about their arrest of Palpatine, so you would never find out that they needed help. Unless, I suppose, you have a high enough Force-related parameter to feel yourself needed at the Chancellor's Office. This would be the same way you would need to see Order 66 coming, unless you were at the Temple and you have the perfect stat build to beat Vader (even if you don't kill him - maybe he can still flee) or if you have the wherewithal to not even be noticed by him and just fight your way through the 501st to escape yourself (or just hide until Yoda & Obi-Wan arrive). Maybe during the fall of the Empire, you can meet Djarin and help raise The Child.
I'd totally be up for an Anthology-style game where it's just a pack of levels based around different what-if scenarios.
Not sure how the concept of light/dark side swap is “dumb”, but it’s kind of a cool idea in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️ and a real shame we never got Battlefront 3 and 4 honestly. Oh and RIP to that Darth Maul game we never got 🥺 and 1313

I think the Redeemed Vader at 5:23 is the most realistic one, this is probably what he would have looked like if he survived in The Return of the Jedi
Idk why it pops up in my head so often, but Anakin in the chamber with the younglings...What about it, you ask? Instead of killing them, he remembers that he's going to be a dad soon and he begins thinking "will I have to kill my own child?" or something along the lines of they see him as an older brother/father figure and it just tears him up. Stays his blade and begins to help defend the temple and evac some of the Jedi before escaping to fight Palpatine later for his sins

I'd kill for some Star Wars books or comics that look at some "What if?" Scenarios such as: Luke joining Vader in Episode 5,Anakin winning the duel with on Mustafar,Qui-Gon surviving Episode 1 and so much more.
I'd love it as just a little bit of Non-Canon fun that looks at potential alternative timelines

Star wars infinites covers the original trilogy with huge changes. Like said in the previous comment yoda uses the force on the death star and destroys it, luke misses is shots and the death star does not explode, and Leia becomes a Jedi.
I remember in Star Ware revenge of the sith game the last fight with anakin and Obi wan, they did an alternate ending if anakin would’ve won the duel. He then immediately kills sidious and takes over the galaxy. I remember being shocked after playing that. Also the DLCs for both force unleashed games were awesome (more so the first game, second one was meh). Especially corrupting luke on Hoth

Well, a bunch of these ideas, reworked and properly polished out, would be genius. Dark Obi Wan would be an UNIT, an older, dark or even grey jedi Mace Windu played by Mr. Jackson would be a force of nature and don’t get me started on Emperor Vader, who would trade villanous edgy evil shenanigans for cruel, machine-like precision, and maybe actually care for his empire.
For a franchise so rich and spanning centuries of conflict, SW really suffers from a lack of depth sometimes

1:56 That is not hard of a question. Maul killing his former lover for example brought him close. Its not like the characters only need to be one thing. There are many what if scenarios of vader staying in the light and not many complain about that for some reason.
I would never turn to the Dark Side. It goes against literally everything my character stands for. Seeing that concept art genuinely makes me sick in an existential sort of way.

Actually, redeemed Vader is an actual character with an official appearance in the Star Wars franchise, that of which being the return of the meme Jedi comics in which Vader survives the lightning attacks from Palpatine and returns to the light side and dons this brightly-colored uniform while recovering on the millennium falcon.

In defense of white Vader, that was from an alternate universe comic that was put out by Dark Horse Comics called Star Wars Infinities: Return of the Jedi (There were also Infinities comics based on the other two OT films) which, among other changes, features Vader (now Anakin once again) surviving at the end and switching to a white version of his suit.
Dark Obiwan? Easy, kill Satine before end of their mission, when they were younger. He said it himself: "Had you say a word i would've left Jedi order".

A Battlefront with branching SW Infinities storylines would have been cool. When you "fail" a mission, you can either replay or follow an Infinities path.
Battlefront 4 was an idea to expand the sandbox into the Infinities (the white armoured, redeemed Vader and Jedi Leia are both straight out of "Star Wars Infinities" in fact.), allowing for any hero unit to be played by any faction, this means a light side and dark side version of each character. Mirror matches, really there's no reason not to, Galactic Conquest modes let you play fast and loose with the timeline events anyways, might as well extend that to the characters as well.
Also don't judge Concept art too harshly, a big part of it is to throw ideas at the wall, visual brainstorming and give the director more to work with, as often the final result will be picking and choosing elements from multiple iterations.
The Chunky Vader reminds me of a Gantz hard suit.
These are just cool. It’s like calling alternate universes in comics stupid. I honestly think all these are cool ideas. None of these would even be cannon so I don’t really see the problem with this.
Not actually that dumb. They're just Mirror Universe versions of the established characters. Some of the designs were admittedly failtastic though.
The trouble with light-side Vader just wearing a white version of his suit is that the design and aesthetics of Vader's suit were derived from ancient Sith armour. A Jedi version of Vader wouldn't wear a white version of his canon armour. I know that they'd never do this, because his design is just too iconic, but I've always felt that Jedi Vader would wear something based on the helmets of Jedi temple guards.
The idea of an alt timeline would be awesome, could see some things we weren’t able to see in the OT, like full potential Anakin/Vader

The Revenge of the Sith game as well as both Force Unleashed games had alternate universe missions and costumes. There were even three "Infinite" comics which reimagined the events of the OT, so I'm not sure why you keep saying Lucasfilm wouldn't have approved these.
I think a Jedi/Vigilante version of Greivous who instead collects the lightsabers of fallen sith, so wields red lightsabers rather than blue and green, would be pretty cool

Rey is the grandaughter of Palpatine and the daughter of palpatine something clone, now that sounds like fanfiction, sounds just as ridiculous if not more than the story of x2.
I'm guessing that the redeemed Vader and Dark Side Obi-wan would be from a storyline where Obi-wan went to the Dark Side and Anakin had to try and redeem him. Obi-wan would win on Mustafar, with Yoda giving Anakin cybernetics. Anakin's campaign might have been about trying to redeem Obi-wan, with Obi-wan being redeemed the same way that Anakin was redeemed.
This reminds me of the PS2 Revenge of the Sith game. If both players chose the same character in the versus duel mode, one of them got an alternate version of said hero. Some of those were pretty awesome (like Grievous with grey armor and red sabers, or Jedi Dooku with a purple saber)
X1 was your brother and the main antagonist of Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron on the PSP and DS. You where X2.
You start the game off as a special Clone Trooper during the Clone Wars (due to fact that you where a clone of a Jedi and not Jango Fett.) After Order 66 you defect to the rebellion while X1 stays with the empire. Eventually it plot overtakes the movies and X2 becomes a Jedi trained by Luke while X1 basically becomes Palpatine 2.0 and it ends with a dual on Mustafar.
Never played the DS version but the PSP version is fun as hell and what you would expect from an OG Battlefront 3. While the maps where smaller the game had simultaneous land and space battles with you at any time on any map being able to jump in a starfighter on the ground and fly into space to join the space battle (you could even destroy the enemy capital ship.)

I mean I guess with the dark Obi-Wan you could say that in that timeline he was recruited by the Darkside rather than the light.
Also as a sidenote I think it is a neat concept seeing a redeemed Darth Vader, perhaps an alternate timeline where he survives return of the Jedi. There’s a lot of need designs that were showing off here but I would probably have to go with the white Darth Vader suit personally. That way you keep all the cool design choices of the Vader suit but it’s color is now inverted to show his change back to the light side.
Again maybe this is just because I like the idea of what if‘s and alternate takes on stories but I’ll admit this actually is quite interesting concepts for this game.

Closest thing I've seen to Rainbow Troopers is the Rainbow Marines from very EARLY W40K, who ended up being retconned into the Jaguar Warriors, but in all versions were actually space Aztecs.
You got to admit that some of the concept art looks pretty rad independently of how dumb or nonsensical they might be

Honestly, I’d love a “What if…” style Star Wars game. Is the idea of Luke or Obi-wan turning to the Dark Side kinda ridiculous? Yeah, but that’s why it’s fascinating. You’re not supposed to take it too seriously; you’re just supposed to enjoy the ride. It’s like Injustice Superman or those weird alternate timelines where Spider-man is evil and the Green Goblin is the good guy.
This is honestly super awesome. I would have loved alternate timeline characters and storylines. Any way to play swole Vader.

Darth Vader have a white suit is actually from a what if comic. Yoda takes control of the deathstar and smashes it into Courascant.
White Vader actually makes sense. He's an official comic character. yes, it was only in one comic which showed an alternate universe of empire strikes back... I think. I can't remember exactly, but it was something like that. it was him siding with the Rebellion against the Empire. it's unknown if it was for the same reason Luke joined the Rebellion, but most believe it's so he can slowly corrupt Luke and have him turn to the dark side. Darth Leia happened in the alternate universe comics as well. each comic told alternate outcomes to the events of the OT. the only thing they didn't have was her in a cloaked version of the slave Leia outfit. I kinda like that outfit for various reasons. Yes, it was Leia at her hottest. However, it's also a unique uniform. Besides, if a Twi-Lek(Darth Talon), which is generally an overly sexualized alien species in star wars lore, can be a sith lord in a two-piece bikini 24/7... why can't a human?

Idk why you are constantly trashing all the ideas, I think some of them (most of them actually) are pretty interesting new things that could shake things up. Except swole Vader of course.

Grievous became the Droid General because Dooku blew him up and blamed the Republic
Obi-Wan could have fell to the dark side when Qui-gon died like so many other Sith
Vader only died because of how he killed Palpatine, if he say used the force to crush him he wouldn't have gotten his life support system fried
And so on and so forth
For them to be in the game thought they would need to show it happening, give us a cutscene or a mission where it happens (If applicable)
Like going off the Obi-Wan possibility for example. The level plays out like normal events but in the fight as mentioned Obi goes dark after Qui-Gon dies, so you take control of a now emotionally distraught Obi-wan mowing down droids in anger as the dark side whispers in your ear about how you weren't strong enough. It all goes on and keeps boiling until it bursts and it changes from just killing Droids to killing everything in your way as you make a break for a ship to leave the planet. Maybe have him return at some point a dark jedi with his new plan to search for force artifacts to... I dunno turn back time to save Qui-Gon, his mind to warped to realise that Qui-Gon would be disappointed in him
Ok, NONE of these are dumb. Star Wars has always played around with Dark Side option alternate universe stuff in gaming for decades now. So all of this very much follows that same logic.

It's crazy, but at least it's daring and looks like it could be some fun. I miss the days when developers working on licenced games did weird and wacky stuff like this simply on the basis that it was, and declared that it was strictly, non-canonical.
