A highly underrated manga/anime series. Wish it gets full adaptation. I loved the flashback arc in the manga where Ban and Ginji were teens, they fight Fudou(guy with time based abilities) and ban takes out an arm of his.

Fudou became considerably behind the other characters on the list. because at the end of the manga, the Top of this List improved skills that surpass all of the Arch of the Unlimited Fortress.

Do yourself a favor a read the manga. Raitei at full power (Lord of creation) is the strongest character in the show. then comes The archive > Voodoo king then Ban Mido then Akabane. A full power Raitei has not equal in this show.
@@zeoz911 This is partially true. Technically speaking Ginji > Akabane > Ban. While Ban was able to 'beat' Akabane by a very small margin, Akabane as shown in the second last chapter allowed Ban to stay alive in the fight instead of have it end in a draw (both die); however, Akabane can't imagine his death and therefore revives each time. Basically, if Akabane wanted to kill Ban, he could fight to a draw where both die...except Akabane would come back to life and Ban would not. Therefore Akabane > Ban, Akabane simply delayed Ban's death in their fight which was a draw so that Ginji had time to wish for him back warping reality and healing him essentially.
@@GrantLulu 100% agree. Most of these guys underrate how powerful Akabane is. For me personally he is the strongest in the series in terms of feats, almost all of the fights he had in the manga was him just testing his limits and mostly having fun. Ginji and Ban are only strong because of the mc or protagonist plot they have. Akabane is transcendent for a reason because he transcends the laws of the world of Getbackers.

We don't get many people who can power scale Getbackers, which is a shame. On the other hand, it would be best because if Death Battle does it they'll screw up somehow.

i like this anime,,especially ban action, but , true story(manga) told that all happens in virtual world.( similar to 'the matrix' movie). Even, on real world ,there is no Ginji (already dead) am i right? if right , i m very dispointed,,,

Need to add this gin when he's fight his not using his own power so don't say he's strong just yet since he rely too much on raitei, after raitei is gone never seen gin fight using his own power yet he never tried to hit ban on ogre battle even if it's be was illusion, btw gin and raitei like two different person split personality I guess, anyway the manga just end like that feels like too many unanswered question were left behind it's also open end I think.

Okay the moment gin fight without using raitei was when he fight against yukihiko their strength match up so yukihiko really is strong but not strong enough against raitei and ban, ban vs his dad, ban win.

There's this question often asked who's the protagonist/MC in GB, well gin is MC while ban is ML more's like it, I read somewhere that ban supposed to be protagonist in another Aoki Yuuya work before that gin is alone and gin supposed to have ban personality I can't imagined that gin chan it's so funny his way too gentle and polite😆
Also there's this GB not only stand for get backers, bangin named and gamma, beta, betline goblin, it's also stand for boys and girls you see maybe that's why ban opponent often a boy and gin opponent often a girl. Ban also manly and gin androgynous sometimes but not too kazuki extend, kazuki feminine and androgynous because his is a girl in actual world I guess.
