Firstly glad you got the drone back. Last time my son and I rode the Bulahdelah Bends back in '15 it was so good we had to do it twice! I was one of those school kids from the '60-'70s whose parents drove us North for the summer hols on the old road before it became "The Old Road' and I still love the ride with the obligatory pit stop at Pie in the Sky or the Road Warriors Cafe Mt White. Thanks for this series, great viewing. I once tried to do the same for the Hume Hwy but too much of it has been obliterated unfortunately.
Great video mate. I worked on the then DMR out of Gosford. We looked after the Old Pacific Highway to the Hawkesbury river. Also through Peats Ridge. Great ride. Thanks.
A great trip, thanks for doing that. Glad to see you got your drone back safe and sound. I travelled up that way in the late eighties two up on a GPZ 1100 for the World Expo 88, then on up to Fraser Island. An amazing trip to do, and looking forward to doing similar again one day. Thanks for more inspiration to get motivated.
Grew up all along that road through newly to Sydney.. saw many a place i painted, that you past haha Ridden all along there many times.. been a very long while though since... great to see it again and reminisce the old days or early 90's to mid 2000s... great trip, cheers for sharingb
You could have got off the old Pacific Highway at Asquith and run down the twisties through the national park, then up the other side, more twisties. Rejoining the highway at Bobbin Head Rd and the Pacific Highway traffic lights. Good tarmac and a good fun ride. But if the gate is attended, $12 for the pleasure.
Loved the series, thanks. I used to live in Grafton and drove the Pacific Hwy (old) many many times during the late 70’s early 80’. Shit of a road at the time but didn’t know any better in those days. BTW no roundabouts all all 👍 I remember being in 1 long line of cars heading into Sydney around Peats Ridge. It was just mayhem. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night you were there it was always busy busy busy.
I'm sorry man but I've gotta do it. You turned off the highway near Coopernook to travel Lansdowne Road not Lonsdale Road. That's Lans as in Lands and downe as in the direction. Further South you passed through Nabiac. That's Nab - i (a soft i like in is) and then ac as in ack. I'm 30 years of age this year and I don't think I've ever heard someone say Naibac or Naibacca, so that's definitely a first. Cool video anyway. Keep up the good work.

That right turn at Newcastle after the single lane bridge is the biggest joke of that entire "freeway"
That Wootten way is an awesome little piece of tarmac.
Absolutely!!
Have been to that motorcycle museum and it's insanely thorough with examples of so many bikes. Definitely stop off there when you can!
Wotton way- best kept secret except for the moss on the side of the road!
Great video mate.

Great ride.
Thanks.
I also worked on that road for the RTA at Wyong depot.
What year was that
The Wyong depot was near the train bridge near the golf club

The bus lane thing, I didn't know.
Bus lanes and transit lanes
I last drove a truck on that damn Wooton section mid 1980s before it was bypassed and it was that rough you can see why the builders were unemployed.
Good to hear the drone survived. Have to keep this route in mind if I go on my Postie bike or Himi.
Done that drive more than i ever wanted to - but haven't done it in ages, soooo....
Nice series...Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 😜😄
Great viewing mate nice cometary. Ride safe.

Gives us a little perspective of how good it is these day!

FYI, you can still see your details when you open the box, you might want to blur that
Thanks mate, I cut that bit out. Thanks for the heads up.
Just finished watching this vid. How good is the section of the Old Pac from Gosford to Cowan?!?!?!?
22.22 It's always been Man's street but also the Pacific Highway.
Ahh, thanks for clarifying 👍😄
Yep.
Used to live in Wyoming for 30 years
Nice trip hows a weather?over there im in uluru going to cairns and down to sydney
Perfect weather at the moment. I think Chains isn't quite as windy as it was not long ago 😜
What did it cost to get it back?
$600. Almost cheaper to buy a new one but worth it for the cool story.
Old pac used to be 100
now the hill at cowan dropped from 80 to 70. soon to be 60
In my day lad there was no maccas just duromine and shakers, or a Benzedrine sandwich.
