Hi, I’m from Hong Kong 🇭🇰, and I just stumbled upon this video. Even I didn’t know about the past history of rail in Hong Kong. Great information and it’s entertaining, please make more videos of these kinds in different cities.
@hiddenhongkong but the monorail was stopped in its tracks in favour of a *smelly bus service to cut costs I Hope the northern line is built in a form of that monorail colored in the livery of Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park to remind the new generation of that park *carbon monoxide emissions is the main grievance of motor vehicles

Thank you!
Update: tuen ma line just opened (west rail line extension) and it has total 27 stations
(From Hong Kong)
Most MTR History videos don't explain it well in English, glad I stumbled upon this video.
Ah the blissful days when Chinese law was only restricted to a single station
I'm suprised Kai Tak never had a line
Are you referring to West Kowloon and Hung Hom station?
Kai Tak is getting a monorail: ua-cam.com/video/0F8JVrsCfUY/v-deo.html
@@hiddenhongkong No i mean im surprised they didn't build a line to the old airport.
Yeah, I don't know why they never got to it, even though it was proposed many times
I have may very own metro and i made my own maps as well, I'm only 8 years old

Where does the information about She Kung Temple Station come from?
When was Whampoa Docks station removed?
In November 1937, the Whampoa docks at Hung Hom were connected to the KCR. The line was abandoned following the transfer of the depot to Ho Tung Lau in 1968.

Hello Hong Kong
When I go to Disneyland resort station for 2019, I am excited about this line
10:02 it was already renamed to the KCR east rail.
What was in the Peak in 1888 when there was no peak tower yet?
Mostly residences of wealthy people like British colonial officers who wanted to escape Hong Kong summer heat by going up into the mountains
Excuse me how do you make these videos I just wanna know.
underrated
Xd
Interesting. I only wish the map indicated the harbor so it's clear which stations are on Hong Kong Island and which are on the mainland.
Forgot renaming Mong kok staition to mong kok east
4:21 it is the MIS
Do you mean KWAI HING?
0:50 you didn’t even put Kowloon on the map
There was no Kowloon in 1910!
The east rail line runs next to intercity railways and it will be called sha central line in the future
You swapped Kwai Fong and Kwai Hing on the map
I am mtr fans
I made my own metro, even made some of my own maps as well, im only 8 years old

Where on earth did you get this info from and why do you think there would ever be a line to Tung Ping Chau
@@hiddenhongkong in google future mtr map

Interesting, but so many factual mistakes at every level.
Really? How many did you find?
Third error you didn’t mention: When the WRL appeared, tai wai became an interchange station with no line so it is confusing
