Charlie Is My Darling - forever. The backbone of the Stones. Lost another piece of my heart. Thank you, Charlie, for all the entertainment you have given for so long. Will never be another like you.
"Time Waits For No One" with Charlie's drumsticks tick tocking into eternity.😢
@@falcon5467 Nicely put. I still can't believe he is gone. But the many tributes to Charlie all over the internet, social media, blogs, articles all number in the thousands. This shy, quiet drummer is being honored and remembered to an extent one wouldn't dream possible. He was loved and appreciated, and he wasn't even a "rock star" but a guy who had a job to do, and did it well indeed.

The heartbeat of the Rolling Stones Mr Charlie Watts. Its hard to believe that we will no longer see Charlie behind his gretsch kit
@@FenderTele I still can't believe he is gone.
It’s no longer the Stones without Charlie back there unfortunately. I can’t see anyone replacing or filling in for him. R.I.P. Charlie!
Just imagine it's 1965 again, and you saw this for the first time. Wow. The Stones were a revolution.
Sept 29th 1965 first band I ever did see.....and turns out to be the best ever!
The early days of the Rolling Stones were the best!
No , 68-72 were the best , but i guess it’s a matter of taste
Best albums were probably in the 70's but this was my introduction to a lifelong love of black music.
By FAR
Their touring days with Brian Jones, they certainly were exciting! Their tours with Mick Taylor (1969-1974) were also very good.
I saw them live only once-in the eighties. Ronny Wood wasn’t as technically a good guitarist as Mick was, but he fit the Stones persona well. He and Keith were hamming it up. Mick stood still and played great blues-rock, but he didn’t dig the band much and departed after just five years. It would have been lovely to see them in the mid to late 60’s with Brian-who IMO was the most eclectic and artistic of the three.
I love seeing Brian so happy ♥️
Charlie's drumming is Magnificent..R.i.p. Charlie and Brian.
Era e será sempre a art do Rock. Massa!
Early Stones: Jagger-young, hungry, minus the posing, just being a blues singer like Jimmy Rushing. Richards and Jones: thumping out the punchy rhythm with humbucker-equipped guitars and loud Fender Dual Showman amplifiers. Wyman and Watts: holding up the bottom end. Fantastic.
We will never capture this kind of greatness again
What greatness? It’s the bloody Stones, not exactly The Beatles.
@@shanemckenna9416 i love beatles to, but stones equally or better then beatles. 10 years beatles( life), 60 years Stones on music scene , and beatles suck live, but we have beatles, stones, bowie, zeppelin, who , p.floyd etc, and today justin biber, adele and shit like that

Gracias Brian, por armar este conjunto.....
I was 87 days old when this show took place. I am 56 now and still a stones fan. The 60’s era Jones stones are my favorite era of the band.
Did you enjoy it?
@Gratefulman1965 I was born 25 days after this show took place after the the hey days of 72 S TP. Higher octane taking rock shows to the next level, 65 Brian is still just as favorable
Mick Taylor era Stones was by far the best musically. The best Brian Jones album was obviously Beggar's Banquet, unless you are considering the early blues covers which are decent.
Never saw it before. Excellent quality for it's day. Rolling Stones at their early best IMO.
Mick Jagger owns the stage and crowd as good as anyone ever did even at this age. His seemingly nonchoreographed spontaneity is what he’s got.
Yes, Mick spontaneity and improvisation on stage are unique.
Nice to see Brian and the boys when they were young.
Around and Around ---- fantastic----- that´s ROCK n ROLL !!
Wonder full time! Missing you! Brian, Charly. ❤️🎸🎶😂🎸 Nice
The best documentation of Stones live performance in their early years that I've ever seen, definitely!
Þhére gŕeåþh.
have you seen the TAMI show?
The fans stage invasion were stupids cause they ended the show but Stones were so exciting.
Then they turned over cars and broke shop windows it was terrific...
YES! The Best!
I love how Charlie and Bill just keep playing even after chaos ensues! Fun times! Rest In Peace Charlie.
Kinda makes ya wonder - managers were know for setting up scenes in which the gals passed out, screaming their brains out And so on. The guys who are attacking the stage, well, kinda seems lame, no ? Charlie and Bill ae not at all concerned and this is what makes me wonder if its because they knew no one was really attacking them.
What was their intent anyhow ? Were they anti rock and rollers, anti long hairs whatever ? It just looks staged to me. The headlines in the morning papers is GOLD.
Whats the old saying ? 'Theres no such thing as bad publicity', right ? My apologies to Oldham and the boys if I'm wrong. Rest in peace Charlie Watts - I bought my first snare drum because of you !
Omg, poor Charlie! You can see the anxiety building on his face. He knows something is about to hit the fan. They all know, but watching their different reactions to the crazy mob is so interesting. Imagine being the cause of that frenzy! Exciting , but scary!
@@richardtater7945 It was totally staged IMHO
A time and Brian Jones era of the band which will never be forgotten. The very ending of this live performance was insane. Thanks for sharing this cool historical footage of The Rolling Stones. Cheers.
I saw the Stones in February 1965 at the Palais in St Kilda Melbourne, Australia. At the time they were my favorite band. Time moves on, and with the end of the Brian Jones era, I relegated them to #3. For me the Beatles are #1, Kinks #2. Mick Taylor was a great guitarist, but Brian founded the Stones and was a musical genius...sadly never the same after 19681
@@jameswitham2141 True, but I saw the Stones for the first time at MSG in 1969. So, my perspective is more from the "Let It Bleed" era. Whichever Stones era is your favorite there's no denying what a great Rock'n'Roll band they are and amazingly they're still selling out shows.
The Mick Taylor years were pretty hot also.
Mick Taylor was a guitar virtuoso. Better on guitar than Jones. Jones could play any instrument after just an hour or so. My favorite from the Taylor years was 'time waits for no one. Jones was great on: I wanna be your man, little red rooster, and just about any song from Aftermath.
Mick was another of the great guitar players who graduated from the John Mayall School of Guitar. Peter Green and Eric Clapton to name a couple other great players!!! Brian and Mick were better players than Keith, in my opinion. Keith is the great rhythm guitar player.
Brian Jones looking young and healthy and adding a lot of drive with his rhythm guitar. Charlie looking animated. Great post.
I know. Back when he was encouraged to move around on stage. You could tell he was really happen to perform. Charlie also seemed he was having fun. Look what passes as the equivalent today. I'd go back in the blink of an eye.
i preferred them with brian jone,s i recommend the rolling stones rock & roll circus if anyone hasnt seen it ive got it on video.but you can see how much the crowd enjoyed it & how talented the band were.their first gig was in a pub near me called the red lion in sutton & i guess they have come a long way since then & mick lived in cheam for a while lol,but rip charlie & brian both played a big part in making the stones as successful as they were me as a kid i always preferred the stones to the beatles but as i grew up i got into the black blues & 60,s garage which is raw as music gets.so if anyone is interested in hearing the 60s, underground & i mean you wont have heard any of this great music before.check me out ive got thousands & thousands of rare gems most made on small independent labels & unknown to the masses just click on my name then created playlists peace...

I saw The Stones December 3, 1965, I was 10, I was one lucky kid….mom loved rocknroll she took me to all the concerts in the mid-60s, I’ll never forget The Stones performance back then……and they are still performing 55+ years later, wow, I feel old…..
Lucky Frances F. !!!
Your Mom, what a gift
The screaming, must have been horrendous
But Mick and Keith don’t.
@@Joe-hf3cn that’s pretty much all I heard, back in those days the sound wasn’t as powerful as it is today
Wish I could have seen them when Brian was in the band, but sadly it was before my concert going days. Seen them many times since, but the early Stones had an excitement, raw energy & musicianship that was truly extraordinary!
I pretty much love anything the Stones did in the 60s and 70s. This period is especially good.
My father was 13 years old somewhere in that crowd then some years later his last gig was the stone live in Ireland with me ❤️⭐️😔👌😎
RIP Charlie Watts the coolest and the greatest drummer God Bless.
To be young and growing up in such a time with such a soundtrack. That's what life is all about. ☺️
I'd go back in a minute.
It was the best
I wouldnt trade my life with anybody, for ANYTHING !!! I've lived thru the best periods in the history of this world ! I'd do it again in a minute, absolutely !
Ireland was very grey and conservative back then, the rolling stones were like something from another planet, the bemused priest at the front of the audience when all the mayhem started happening was priceless
The pure raw Stones at their best.
If it wasn't for The Rolling Stones performing covers so well by such great black musician's, I would never have heard of Bobby Womack, Ellas McDaniel, Chuck Berry, Irma Thomas, Muddy Waters, Howling wolf and the list goes on. The drummer man's a cat they call Kickin' McCoy I know you remember that rubber-legged boy? Charlie Was No Average Time Keeper And Made All Of The Rolling Stones Songs Great ! For Me the best Rock Band the Was ever on Earth. Not like the bored Elvis. Live and Music is the best!I hope this
But the Stones have Elvis to thank for the mass female hysteria.
@@ponyboy98 Elvis has nothing to do with that performance of The Stones. I like Elvis as well, and I like his performances, but he also " borrowed" a lot from other musicians.
The camera work, sound recording, the editing, preservation, and most of all, the setting and performance... all togetner.. nothing short of a miracle! Thank you for posting this.

Wow, Charlie Watts, never saw him so excited and drumming so wild. Makes me happy. Praise God for the R S
10:29, Well, It's so good to see Brits and Irish enjoying each other's company!
この頃は見たくても見れなかったストーンズのライブ、50年経ってやっと見る事が出来ました、貴重な映像を有難う
Love this early stuff. Charlie really rocked it and so did everyone.
The stage invasion at the end was just fantastic all that wild energy let loose by a bunch of blokes playing Blues covers and a few originals with no effects no fold back, no light show and a whole lot of Mojo.
You can see clearly when Jagger feel that the stage invasion was coming.
And no monitors !
Audiences often mobbed them like that. Keith reported once being almost strangled when two female fans contested the possession of a string of beads around his neck. These were the days before "Money For Nothing" was composed. The lads risked their well being at every show.
Incredible footage: so glad this still exists! Mama mama mia!
Great noise this lot made! Love the way Wyman plays across the melody. The Last Time is really good and heavy
Seeing Charlie so animated here as a young man is a revelation, but yet it also makes sense. He had a passion just like the rest of them or else he wouldn’t have been so damn good or able to hang with them. Over time he just mellowed doing the same thing year after year for decades.
Best Stones decade!
They were simply the best and at their summit in those years. MJ was so extremely talented as a singer and performer.
Best R&B band Britain ever produced.
Mr. Charlie Watts...RIP Sir, and to his family and the Rolling Stones I send my sincere condolences from Chicago USA
This is just great. Brian looking so relaxed. The whole band enjoying it and looking to impress. Good choice of songs. Great energy on and off the stage
Yeah.. What a difference a year made!
Just fantastic, the greatest rock 'n' roll band ever in the beginning. The riot at the end is the icing on the cake. Please more!
Those were the days! My teenage years
The Beatles, The Who, and The Animals were pretty good too...
Still the best.
Amazing, Best quality film of that performance I've seen. It all got a bit out of control at the end. I'm not surprised. You could feel the emotion getting higher and higher throughout.
"Satisfaction" was a monster hit. Every garage band had to play that and "Gloria" to get the party going.
But the Stones weren't particularly fond of that song. But the fans sure loved it!
this performance indeed was garagesque! proto-protopunk, before protopunk was a thing
Gloria?? What is that song?
@@augustopasquier7895 "Gloria" from Them (Van Morrison's band)... it's a garage rock staple

Rough and raw, just what the Stones are remembered for. It's surprising how reasonably good this recording is for the time. Just amps and drums and vocals live. Charlie whacking the snare about as hard as he could, no mic on the kick drum. No monitors. Just raw rough energy. Wow.
I was absolutely blown away to find this wonderful post. I saw the Stones play the Trocadero cinema in Leicester that same year when the set was , as far as I can remember, pretty much the same as this. The experience has remained a glorious, half remembered memory in the back of my mind since then. Seeing this rekindles the moment. My sixteen year old self was a big music fan then, as now. It was a very raw, unsophisticated sound, and this video brings it back so well. Many thanks!!
@@Methilde Joelle, I do feel very privileged to have lived through those amazing times, but please be sure to treasure your youth!

What a wonderful video. I saw the Stones in Bradford in 1964 and this is just how it was. So much excitement.
Me too, was that the Gaumont gig? I was 13 at the time.

The greatest👍🎸
I just love this. No amps or drums miced up, no fold back, just plug in crank your amps and play. A tight band, great raw sound. Sounds great. Real talent and great musicianship. Will never see anything like this today. That version of Satisfaction. Lot heavier than the record. Loved it
Thank you for the groove and heartbeat Charlie and thank you for the band and sound Brian
I saw this band for the first time in Singapore in 1965 or 1966. At the time the local paper said that ''this is probably the last time the fans will see them as they are due to split up soon.''
Percussion like a train. Bass beyond all expectation--precision and novelty. Jones was the musician and met the fate of orpheus.
Electrifying energy! It’s Allright! Awesome thanks for sharing
The priest looking and laughing, that is till Mick starts I can't get no satisfaction:) Awesome show
just imagine those kids seeing this band live for the first time. whoa. musta blown their stacks! just hearing and seeing charlie going nuts on his kit and driving the rhythm section (bill, keith and mick). amazing!

Absolute gold! I think you can hear Ian Stewart hammering the piano in Satisfaction!
Yeah, I heard him too!
Yes but Stu is not there. The audio for Satisfaction is taken from the live Export album ‘Have You Seen Your Mother Live!’ recorded in Oct. ‘66. I have the album.
It has been dubbed onto the band playing Satisfaction in Sept. ‘65.
The band never played Satisfaction in this fast rockier way in ‘65.
Stu is not there but you can hear him because the audio for Satisfaction is from Oct. ‘66 and the Export album ‘Have You Seen Your Mother Live!’. It has been dubbed onto the film from Sept. ‘65.
I heard about ‘em on the radio in ‘66 but I dig their music until a year or two later and hit the jackpot in ‘89 when I saw them live
One of the few live concerts filmed of the early Rolling Stones. They were spot on. Brian looked great here. Mick and Brian got mauled by the fans.
Brian thought it was funny!
Anyone who came on board with the Stones late, just needs to carefully watch these early live performances to get a feel for why they became Sooo Big, and have lasted for Sooo Many years.
Instead of the typical British groups with their matching uniforms/suits and identical haircuts, the Stones did it naturally, with Elan and BLEW THE KIDS AWAY.
They Distinguished themselves from all other Brit groups.
So true. I'm so glad I lived through those times. Now it's all auto tuned, which is actually fake. It can make anyone sound good. The Stones exuded sex with their music without being like the disgusting acts we have today. These were the great times.
Right on. They were the first real ROCK BAND, the sound AND the fury - with all that it entails! Marvelous Rolling Stones changed the world just that much.🥳

Thank you for sharing, we get a glimpse of the beginning of the greatest Rock Band in the World. They will always be #☝🏻👉🏻🌎💋
It took literally 20 years of Rock and Roll for cameramen to figure out who was playing the solos. God they were thick!
Gotta remember that rock combos were new, and directors were used to an earlier performance model - usually a featured star singer who got the bulk of the camera time.
Except for a few great players (like Scotty Moore with Elvis,) instrumentalists were relegated to a backing role, so as not to detract from the star.
Not until a couple of years later into the mid-late 1960s, did production crews grasp the concept of a true rock band of more or less equals, each deserving of camera time.
Agreed!
And for fans to know. Keith is playing lead on some of these songs!
Beaucoup de morceau enregistré sur l'album "Got live if you want it" . Je suis heureux de voir cette vidéo qui me rend vivante cette performance du vinyle de 66
"The Last Time" was performed brilliantly. Lazer intense blusey rock'n roll!

And of course the Stones!!!!!!
Wooow, that's brilliant. Always wanted to see "Yeah, reelin' and a rockin'" live. Audience just exploded)
It's called Around and Around (Chuck Berry)
Same crowd hysteria as Beatles concerts!
Around and Around was a Chuck Berry cover on the Stones EP recorded at Chess studios in Chicago. Unlike most EP's it sold enough to make the singles chart so the audience knew it.
@@davidrowe7967 Actually not quite as fervoured as at Beatles concerts but close. I saw both and at the Beatles show the St John's ambulance women were laying girls out on blankets on the floor and trying to bring them out of their hysterical comas. For some reason the Stones concerts attracted audiences that could turn riotous which did not happen with the Beatles possibly because the Beatles audiences were more girls and Stones more boys.
Did the Rolling Stones have better amplification than The Beatles, as their concerts were well audible?@@christopherpatefield6150
This is brilliant. Yeah, there are some unavoidable glitches with syncing (e.g. Keith singing/not singing), but this is an utterly thrilling concert film. It's up there with Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones. May it not get blocked!
I should add that L&G has syncing problems too. Just watch Happy. And that's an official release. The Stones should pay you handsomely for the rights to this.
What an amazing document...Thank you forever Mr Watts...Amazing energy, amazing long lasting band...
Holy Shit !!! I'd never seen anything like this before ! Everybody rushed the stage, mostly guys (same thing happened to the Beatles in Paris, just guys rushing them). It was cute how the girl went over and watched Charlie play the drums. Pandemonium ! They wrecked the show early, with the Stones having to run for their lives !!! Haa, ha !!!
I love this songs of the first years... they were really beautytul!!!
