My very first job straight out of high school was at a sewing factory. They made fancy dresses. I actually loved that job. I miss sewing. One day this very small house of ours will be completely remodeled, all our kid's will have their own bedrooms up in the attic and I will get our youngest daughter out of my bedroom and then I'll set up my very own sewing station. I really want to get back to sewing dresses for me and my daughter. ❤
I recently found your channel through your sisters sites and am so happy to follow you also! You have such a calm presence and a beautiful family. So excited to continue following your journey ❤
The top turned out beautifully! I love to thrift fabric for sewing. At our thrift store, I realized, it’s much cheaper to buy a tablecloth than actual sewing fabric. I made my daughter a gold Christmas dress out of a gold tablecloth. I have a project lined up. Just waiting for time…. ❤
Hi Andrea! Discovered you through Lisa's Q&A! I love everything you have said about seasons and embracing it. You are very fortunate to have so many sisters that have shared their wisdom with you and you take their wisdom on board ❤ I'm trying to get back into sewing and I think you have helped revive that spark! Thank you! Newly subscribed and looking forward to watching some of your older videos! ❤
Such a beautiful top! You did a lovely job. And I totally agree with you about leaving old seasons behind and embracing the new ones. Such a wonderful lesson!
I just started watching your channel, UA-cam suggested it, and now I know why….you are Lisa’s sister! I’ve followed her for years and as I have been watching a couple of your videos this morning I thought, “Gosh she sounds a lot like Lisa Bass. I wonder if they are related?” 😄 So glad I found you! You are inspiring me to get back into sewing. 😊
I know I've commented before but I had to say this I'm 66 but I don't regret staying home w my daughter the first 4yrs as a single mom. They grow up so fast. Love from Virginia.
I loved your new top. Such a smart use of recycled fabric particularly highlighting the embroidery! Yes, I understand finding meaning in the seasons of life. I too travelled widely at a younger age and now I’m itching to travel once more. I also went back to study in my late thirties after being widowed and spent the next twenty years studying and working in education. I’ve also been heavily involved in community work all my life starting as a teenager which brought both personal growth and joy through meeting, learning and contributing to others, both at home and overseas. So celebrate your seasons in life in gratitude at what they always bring to you and yours. Each change in season brought adventure, learning and participation in the circle of life and opportunity. And yes, I’ve had struggles but overall joy in seeking new experiences.
I adore this shirt and your clever use of that sweet tablecloth! Imagine the dresses you will make for your daughter! It is pronounced woostersheer! Happy Easter to your family Andrea!
So cool that I guessed right that you were related to those two UA-cam ladies….i had no idea when I first found your channel, but the way you talk and such, led me to that thought.
May I ask, please, from where did you purchase your weights that you use instead of pins when laying out patterns? I enjoy your channel so much. Thanks!
My mom sewed allot. She would make dresses and little outfits for me when i was little. I remember going with her to buy patterns and shed flip thru books to pick out the look she wanted and they were in like file drawers, numbered. And going to the fabric stores. She'd make things for my Barbie's too😊And I'd get the scraps and make things, not good, but i thought it was cool😄b You did a great job on the top, its so cute! And looks cute on you too😊 Never had a roast cooked in beer but we've done beer battered sea food and use a bottle in the low country boil, which is also sea food. But the roast looked yummy😋 Enjoyed.. thanks for sharing!
I recently thrifted a 100% long cotton curtain panel and made a new kitchen curtain and 4 extra large kitchen towels for $2.00. I love purposing linens.
I love learning everything I can from you! All you girls have very soothing voices! Each of you do different, but the same things to learn about! I really enjoy your videos Andrea! So glad you're on here with your sisters! 💐🦋
Love how the top turned out!!! So very cute!! I’ve seen similar ones online and are quite expensive. I always love seeing your home and your delicious food.
I found your channel through your sisters’ channels. I love how you are all so alike but also so different from each other. I get cooking inspiration from Lisa’s channel, cooking but more so cleaning inspiration from Laura’s channel and now sewing inspiration from yours ( I’m a newish sewist myself & interested in garment making.). Your top came out very cute!
I also sewed most of my daughters clothes when they were little. I especially loved making pillowcase dresses with thrifted pillowcases. Then when my granddaughters came along, I made them pillowcase dresses.
Can you share some of your favorite patterns or places to buy patterns? I can never figure out how to look for patterns that I'd wear on a regular basis. Love the tablecloth repurpose idea. It turned out so lovely!
Loved this video! You totally inspired me to sew in your last video so I’m half way through making a linen dress for my daughter! That dinner also looked delicious! You should try making birria. It’s very similar to what you made with beef chuck roast, beer, onions, lime, Mexican seasonings. In the crock pot for 4-6 hours. It’s perfect for tacos and burritos! 😊
You sew just like my mom. It is a vocation and she could make anything. I have all of her sewing machines and sewing notions that I will probably never figure out. I am sure that when I get to Heaven (am working on it) she will tell me how funny she finds my confusion
Question where did you get your fabric bookcase to hold your fabric? I just move and couldn’t take me bookcases with me. They were old and probably would have fallen apart on its journey. Love watching you sew❤
The top is so cute and that fabric is perfect for it.💕 Can you tell me the model number of your sewing machine? I have a Singer that gives me nothing but fits.

I worked in a sewing factory also and I loved it; I like piece work. My mother was a sample maker. I’m older now and I sew pretty much every day.

Can you share some of your favorite patterns or places to buy patterns? I can never figure out how to look for patterns that I'd wear on a regular basis. Love the tablecloth repurpose idea. It turned out so lovely!
I love Etsy, Seamwork, and any indie pattern maker - Friday, true bias, closet core to name a few :)

@@Oursweetsunnydays You are welcome. I enjoy your vlog every Wednesday.
The top turned out really cute! I bet the roast had a similar flavour to the steak and Guinness pie.
Turned out so cute! I just ordered a AO pattern printed from tape free patterns and you can select which size(s) to print.
Ooo gonna check that out!
❤ the top turned out beautiful and you look great in it
Thank you so much!!
Love that cute top and even if you made a dress out of that pattern would be cute also.

Beautiful blouse and you put it together so well. I noticed you didn't use the serger which surprised me but well done. Love your videos.

You sew just like my mom. It is a vocation and she could make anything. I have all of her sewing machines and sewing notions that I will probably never figure out. I am sure that when I get to Heaven (am working on it) she will tell me how funny she finds my confusion
Haha aww that's sweet! 🤍
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Did you make the skirt in the first project planning OR your yellow dress while sewing? They are beautiful!
Is your tabletop a cutting mat? I noticed you used your rotary cutter but could not see a mat underneath. Top turned out super sweet.
Where did you get your weights you use for your patterns? Thanks for sharing.
Question where did you get your fabric bookcase to hold your fabric? I just move and couldn’t take me bookcases with me. They were old and probably would have fallen apart on its journey. Love watching you sew❤
I miss the 9 volts 😂😂😂😜
The end of an era 😆😆
Great video
Thanks!
The top is so cute and that fabric is perfect for it.💕 Can you tell me the model number of your sewing machine? I have a Singer that gives me nothing but fits.
its the brother pacesetter! i believe it is a model that has to be purchased from a dealer!
❤❤❤
Did you sew the dress you’re wearing at 2:43? Love it!
No, though I would love to find a similar pattern! That dress is madewell. :)
Where did you purchase the little pot you heated milk in?
It's a thrifted nespresso aerochino!
Why type of table top is that? It's a nice size cutting/working area
I bought it secondhand!
I know of Farmhouse on Boone, but don't know of your other sister. Would you please provide her information so that I can check her out, too?
Her channel is Our Oily House :)
Thank you! I'm enjoying your videos as I am crocheting an afghan for my husband!
You cut the pattern out perfectly! Just need a bit more self confidence 😘
