I was really sad seeing hidden Xperia clapping like a trained seal watching this trailer. Like bro it's a name change and a tech demo. It's literally nothing.
Halo studios? Imagine having the nerve to call yourself that, when they have literally not made a single good halo game in like 13 years of having the halo franchise. Halo 4, 5 and infinite were all terrible, I am happy. I grew up with the old games and played those first. They should honestly just start over, anything that happened after halo 3 should just not be canon. If they want a clean slate then they should make a fucking story that is interesting and a game that is alot of fun to play, like halo combat evolved, halo 2 and halo 3. Halo should have ended with halo 3 on an actual good game.
Another beloved core franchise that i now despise. I dont think money understands purpose. The halo show was an abomination and they renewed it for a 2nd season. I consider halo studios as microsofts attempt at their season 2. Im am sceptical and doubt they can deliver. Make it open source and let the community cook, provide resources and be collaborative
@@Monsoon-r5n this is what I've been saying. Ideally there'd be room for classic halo with a different playlist, and also the new direction they were going in with 5
"The original halo series was a graphics showcase" Not being concerned with a fun gaming experience and hyper fixating on graphics Rather than the 30 seconds of fun loop halo is known for (Referencing halo vidoc series) Just shows me they still have no direction or clear vision for halo. Halo is more than master chief, just as the Witcher is more than Geralt of rivia. By not letting MC retire you are only further tarnishing any hope of your die hard audience returning. We have several Spartans, odsts, and Johnson himself that games could be made after, but instead we will get another abandonware game that no one will care for.

@@CyberSlayer128 Yep, you're right. They keep hyping everyone up for something that's going to be another failure. I wonder how many of them are genuinely falling for it and how many are just getting paid by Microsoft.
I know this is unlikely given that it's a microsoft decision and not a dev sided decision but they really need to cut out that 18 month contractor bullshit they pulled with most of the staff that made Halo Infinite. I honestly think that is what killed the game. How can you expect a dev to do their best work when they've got the fuckin sword of damocles hanging over their head? The older halos were great because the team cared about what they were making and weren't worried about their contract expiring or an abrupt layoff. They were artists first and employees second. Sounds to me like most of the actual devs at 343 were treated like expendable chattel while the C suite people (the ones who have stuck around it seems) sat on their hands or outright mismanaged their teams.

I really don’t understand how anyone would be excited about this latest announcement. Literally just PR and them showing nice pictures. I mean just look how they handled one of the most beloved and iconic game series of all time! It went from a must play to an ehh don’t really care about. Never thought there’d be a day when I just didn’t care about halo
The cyclical and repetitive blind hype in the halo community is so insanely tiring. The new management is not promising and showcasing the engine and talking exclusively about graphics only backs up the sentiment that they have barely changed
Yeah I mean I’ll always give the new halo a chance but I’m waiting to see how they handle the CE remake in a couple years before I even consider forgiving the studio. They’ve said all good things so far, but we need to see action before you can expect people to listen. So far I’m not liking any of the higher ups I’ve seen, but we’ll see how it all translates into the final product
I think this shake up with the studio is ultimately a good thing, especially from a marketing perspective. But, I'm still extremely skeptical of this "new" studio. I'm also skeptical of the switch to UE. Many people in the Halo community complained quite a lot about how H4. H5 and Infinite (to a lesser extent) didn't "feel" like a Halo game, despite those games using the original BLAM! engine (yes, even the Slipspace Engine was just a modified BLAM! engine). How are they gonna pull off a Halo game that "feels" like Halo using Unreal Engine? Games using UE are notorious for feeling very samey, especially first-person shooters. I don't think they can pull it off.
I will purchase the next Halo game, not necessarily for the campaign, but for a better forge and custom game nights! We need the goofy custom content back in future game nights, that brings laughter and endless excitement into party group gaming! 🎊🎉😂😅🎉
Dropping the engine wasn't the answer, the engine was great and it was set in stone with halo infinite and now that they are abandoning it. Maybe stop doing contract hiring and work in studio with the engine they made, hire and train people for the long run. And with it abandoned that means all the forge progress is gone there next game will haft to be done all over again because it can't be ported as the engines are different
You could replace the studio a dozen times over, i think Microsoft being in charge is what's really going to keep things the way they are. As long as they're forced to keep overusing contract labor, forced to chase trends (in other words, chase profitability over quality), and as long as their deadlines are decided by outside forces, it's not gonna get better. Microsoft needs to cut the leash and let them make games with passion over profit. I'm sure most people working there love the franchise, especially the lower down the income scale you go, so they need to let that love guide the franchise
If i were anyone i would be catuiously optimistic like not hyping up or anything, but let's remark that they FINALLY admitted being wrong, just that alone doesn't promise anything but atleast i would give the vote of the doubt but if they don't show nohting we just don't expect anything unil they do something, because so many years being wrong to finally admit it in it off itself is kinda Huge, but idk what do i know.
A big thing I'm worried about is them going too much back to what the original halo was, because Infinite was a huge step forward in the right direction, it was just extremely lacking. Like the art style of Halo infinite was actually perfect, I did hate the visual effects though, they were terrible. Infinite has a lot wrong with it, but the art style is not one of those things.
Changing your name and wearing a mask doesn’t alter who you are beneath it all. 343 industries hasn’t changed and if it is going to take another destruction of a Halo game for these people to understand, then so be it.
I mean it is true that the most critical members of something are the fans, they want it to be good more than anyone else. I'd prefer to be critical over blind approval to consume more product
Does this mean 343 now halo studios can only make halo games? They were only making halo games before but now they’re really restricting themselves to what they can make
Yeah. A lot of people have been saying that 343 would be better off making their own IP instead of restricted to Halo. The reason they never made a Halo game fans enjoy is because they don't want to make a Halo game. They want to make their own and it's been shown by all the changes they make to the story. Microsoft should just let them cook something else.
Skull boy I don't hate the 343 games but they don't come close to the bungie games. Halo Infinite had great gunplay but the campaign was lacking. They need a great level designer and writer. I have no reason to believe in them. Btw a good halo ce remake will not renew my faith that's a bungie game in a different engine.
Okay also, even if these fuckers can only make CE remastered and H3 remastered, that would be great. If they can actually make it look better I'd be okay. Like. Remesh, re animate and re texture everything, and do it well
I liked Halo 4 when I was young but replaying it…. the multiplayer isn’t great. Campaign was alright. Halo 5 I didn’t like either and then Halo Infinite was lacking in everything. It literally has just been going down hill this whole time. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has gotten good but none of my friends will touch Halo. Halo without friends isn’t as fun. Halo infinite also has no party style like playlists.
I'm not a 343i enjoyer by any means. Halo 4 was decent at best with a pretty fun multi-player, halo 5 was a slog to get through with a very pro scene focused multi-player that felt wrong, infinite was actually a really fun game but was plagued by a serious content drought. All that to say I don't like 343i, BUT Halo Studios is basically a brand new team with new leads and developers. So I'd say it's okay to be cautiously optimistic about what they have planned. There's been some rumors that Microsoft is primarily to blame for the change in direction that Halo took and that the corporate people are the ones that should be on people's shit lists. Am I excited to get more Halo content? Yes. Am I concerned for the franchises future at the same time? Also yes. All this is to say that, while I understand the frustration and even hate that people hold for 343i, we should give this relatively new team an honest chance. That's just my opinion, though, and if no one agrees with me, that's fine. I'm just excited to see more of the world and lore that I fell in love with as a child.
2:25 it's well know that there is TONS of cut content from the OG trilogy and while they are great games 4 sure H1 & H2 both almost weren't done when they shipped so this idea of intended to be made is a really mute point espeicall given that certain bugs like H3 forge having objects floating in place was certainly NOT intended 3:15 also why are you being so Toxic to people being happy about what is certaily a positive change for the company. This is certainly just more than a name change to avoid negative relation with 343i almost anyone that worked at 343i back pre-halo inf. is basically gone espcially the butt hatz that crashed this ship and ruined halo Inf. The new managment includes the god damn saviour of the MCC
343 is still largely the same company just with a new name. Remember they already used a new engine for Infinite and it still has tons of problems. It took six years and still launched unfinished and is still unfinished. Halo 4 was so shit. It was not Halo. The story is nonsensical and contradictory to the lore. Halo 5 didn't understand it was supposed to be Halo and it's story only set up things for the sequel. Then the sequel very awkwardly just went ehhhhh and did the exact same thing. 343 can not tell stories across games to save their life. Geez even Mass Effect 2 looks consistent with the first game by comparison.
Halo infinite definitely wasn't it on lunch due to lack of content. But why are you using sting numbers and saying Halo infinite dead? Because of that, Halo infinite isn't a PC game. It's a Xbox console game. Why do people keep using steam number to verify for console game? It's dead or not
Valid but rather odd video. First, huge amounts of people love remasters/remakes/reboots if they're done right. And how can a remaster/remake/reboot be accused of changing the game if changing the game is the very thing it exists to do? Also avoiding the multiple leadership changes and development team culls? So if you don't account for staff change, then saying that Halo Studios is pretty much the same 343 is like saying that today's BioWare or Bungie is the same studios that they once were. And Microsoft is still there yes, but all of Bungie Halo games were made under constant pressure from Mircrosoft and I'm sure you didn't complain much? Which proves multiple times that it's possible to make a good game under them.
I mean while I enjoy remasters from time to time, I don't really like the idea of them since it's changing a piece of art. Regardless of time constraints or scrapping of certain elements I think art should be looked at with all the flaws included, and something doesn't sit right with me when they try to "fix them". I'm not talking about bugs and stuff. To address the staff change part, I'm working on a follow up video that'll be released tomorrow that goes over a lot of this stuff. But to give you a brief summary, Microsoft destroys and corrupts studios regardless. While Bungie made the Halo games under Microsoft that was because they fought against them to make the games how they wanted and didn't give in. But unfortunately many of Bungies current issues go back to individuals at Microsoft being carried along with Bungie. People like Pete Parsons? He used to be at Microsoft. These people corrupt, and sooner or later the same will happen to Halo Studios
Cringe take considering majority of the people that worked on those games are gone practically a new studio and on top of that the people making the game aren't to blame its microshaft... they kept interfering with story and gave them shitty deadlines you can't rush art in the gaming industry there are very few examples of diamonds being made under pressure because as you've seen most games being rushed come out lame as fuck
While your cynicism is warranted, I do think you need to give Halo Studios a fair chance considering its an entirely new team. I think all of you in the comments need to consider this. That's gotta count for something. You keep saying 343, but this really isn't just a rebrand. This is an entirely different creative vision. What they have shown shouldn't be downplayed. They are heading in the right direction in terms of Art Style, which 343i couldn't get right for multiple games. I realize a lot of Halo fans are hurt, but if you want Halo to succeed, cool it on the cynicism. Lets give this new team a fair chance to succeed. 343 Messed up, but this new team is gonna give it a shot, and like all of us I hope they get it right. We will see.
Okay but here's the thing: this is first good step. Does this absolve the from the damage done in the past? No. Absolutely not. BUT this could be a good first step towards a great new future for halo. Basically I'm saying let's wait for the next game to come out and judge it and Halo Studios then. Wining about it now and saying "don't trust them, it's still 343 with a different name" doesn't actually do anything positive for the future of halo. If anything you're harming this franchise. Just be patient. Halo studios will expose their hand soon enough and then we will know if they are living up to their word, or if they are the same company we all hate, just with a new name.
We'll have to wait and see. But only once they make something of quality will my trust be returned. They've burned me too many times over the years for some "new management" to actually sway me towards buying their games. It's still run under Microsoft after all
@@Nanokk_ I mean there's no rule for anyone to stick to the same fundamentals, I'm not really against 343 wanting to experiment with it. I'm probably biased tho, since Halo 4 multiplayer was a big part of my childhood
I've been playing Halo for years. They fundamentally changed the way the game played. When you remove what made halo multiplayer... well, Halo multiplayer you tend to piss a few people off, myself included. I think people would be fairly upset if CSGO all the sudden started playing like Titanfall 2. You're changing the core of the game so much that it no longer resembles the original. @@Nanokk_ fair enough. But I imagine it is hard to keep the franchise fresh after its 5th fps game. Not that I'm absolving what 343i did that made its fans lose trust on them
@@juggram_99 I mean super smash brothers has remained fresh by making smaller changes to the game that don't change the foundations of what made the game what it is in the first place. 343 could've kept the Halo formula and added new guns, maps, modes, and other changes that don't change the core of what Halo multiplayer is. An interesting idea for a video later down the line
To top it all off, three of the people in the highest company positions they show in the trailer - judging by work history and Linkedin - are some of the most abhorrent DEI shovellers in the business, with pronouns and rainbow flags, modern audiences, and paragraph long stories about them wanting to change the industry before even mentioning any love for games. It honestly could be even shittier than we expect, because at least Infinite seemed to mostly keep that crap out.

I'll remain skeptical until a new game has released and I see reviews from avg Joe's not content creators saying it's good.
100% most level headed and honest halo fan
Another beloved core franchise that i now despise. I dont think money understands purpose. The halo show was an abomination and they renewed it for a 2nd season. I consider halo studios as microsofts attempt at their season 2. Im am sceptical and doubt they can deliver. Make it open source and let the community cook, provide resources and be collaborative
343 can take away everything but my love for Halo
@@2fangz296 i still annually do a play through of CE around christmas.
H5 multiplayer wasn't terrible it was actually one of the most fun
It was fun, but by call of duty standards
Yes, but it wasn't Halo. If Halo 5 was an original IP. I'd agree with you.
They should keep updating it, it’s their beta product yet
@@Monsoon-r5n this is what I've been saying. Ideally there'd be room for classic halo with a different playlist, and also the new direction they were going in with 5
@@Priception True, like I said to the other comment I wish we could have both options via playlist selection
"The original halo series was a graphics showcase"
Not being concerned with a fun gaming experience and hyper fixating on graphics
Rather than the 30 seconds of fun loop halo is known for (Referencing halo vidoc series)
Just shows me they still have no direction or clear vision for halo.
My thoughts as well
Correct! Bungie never said that Halo was a tech demo and showcase. When he said that Halo was a graphics showcase, it didn't sit right with me.
When this popped up i texted my friend asking her to not let me get hopeful...
My brain apparently screwed me up and I've been thinking the poncho was from a Halo 4 trailer this whole time lmao
But yeh, don't trust them. They don't deserve it with how many times they've burned us.
Seeing all the major halo youtubers overhype this with clickbait titles and thumbnails already gave me the idea to be skeptical.
The worst part about the HaloTubers eating this garbage up is further proof that they're part of the problem. They've fucked themselves by clinging to a dead IP and are willing to say anything if they can milk the fandom for another year.
@@CyberSlayer128 Yep, you're right. They keep hyping everyone up for something that's going to be another failure. I wonder how many of them are genuinely falling for it and how many are just getting paid by Microsoft.
Already on a shitty start by calling themselves halo studios
“How do you do fellow kids” ahh name

Fantastic video man. About to upload one like this myself in a few hours.
Lemme know when it drops.
I decided to revisit the news for the CE remake. After that I reconsidered my decision to sleep on the fence.
I want to believe. But I know better.
3:16 I facepalm so hard when I see those kinds of videos.
More than a decade and they haven't learned to not hype 343 (or Halo studios now).
the 2 tech demos are different, the infinite one was just the maximum capabilities of slip space. the one we just got is feasible in game
Halo should have stopped with Reach
Yes, but that would require giving employees these things called "benefits" and big, greedy corporations can't have that.
03:16 calling LNG and Mint Blitz losers is filling my heart with joy. God I hate these kind of "franchise youtubers".
LNG is lamer than hell; I've seen him comment some stuff on other Halo videos too that made me roll my eyes… I like Mint though 😢
@@_Mutt_ You are free to like him of course. Imo he is the "toxic positivity" that annoys me quite a bit.
And the train of doom continues because people cant learn to research...
Have to disagree.
Halo 4 is fucking dogshit.
It’s not about the graphics…. Sure the graphics are nice but it’s about the gameplay, the physics, the story….
Great video please more😍
They should use the idtech engine not unreal
Only halo fans hate halo more than anyone else
I mean it is true that the most critical members of something are the fans, they want it to be good more than anyone else. I'd prefer to be critical over blind approval to consume more product
Lets not forget about Microsoft's rotten roots in the studio as well.
Dont know why they're patting themselves on the back for the graphics, thats all the ue5's doing not theirs
Ok, to be fair… they have not done anything good nor bad so it’s a little early to judge how halo studios will differ from 343
It’s literally the same people and company moron
Skull boy
I don't hate the 343 games but they don't come close to the bungie games.
I don’t see how people are defending these guys against doubt
All because of a tech demo that’s copy and paste in UE
Halo is dead next game will be a DEI project that why they moved to unreal engine

Colored hair detected
Are you retarded?
Hot take but H5 has had the best multiplayer overall. Its really the only Halo where ive actually felt like a walking tank.
Imma play halo 3
This video was a bummer
Halo studios will expose their hand soon enough and then we will know if they are living up to their word, or if they are the same company we all hate, just with a new name.
i get your concerns, but it's new management. much of the problems you were talking about are from the old guard, that are now fired
We'll have to wait and see. But only once they make something of quality will my trust be returned. They've burned me too many times over the years for some "new management" to actually sway me towards buying their games. It's still run under Microsoft after all
Nah, H5 MP was great, it was just too extreme of a departure from the rest of the games.
Bungietard de 30 añitos 😢😢
Bungie con destinzzzzz 2 💀💀💀
Halo 5 Multiplayer was and is good I don’t know what you’re talking about!
This video is dumb. 343i has new management and new direction, new everything. The exact same talking points that have been repeated over and over…
I disagree. Rebranding as a new sense of identity is exactly what 343 needed. The only way to go is up.
lmao halo is dead, please just give it to Activision so it will at least be fun and relatively popular again
i dunno i disagree at the halo 4 multiplayer take, pretty fun actually
Idk I play Halo multiplayer for it to feel like a Halo multiplayer. Not s sci-fi COD ripoff. If I wanted to play COD I'd play COD
That's what I have an issue with when it comes to Halo 4 and Halo 5s (even to a certain extent Halo Infinites) multiplayer
Now you tripping hard talking about Halo. 5. Multiplayer was terrible. He don't find multiplayer was great. That was the best thing about Halo 5
Woke slop!
what is?
Bro what?
Sir, we are talking about Halo, not the new Call of Duty games.
i didn't ask
To top it all off, three of the people in the highest company positions they show in the trailer - judging by work history and Linkedin - are some of the most abhorrent DEI shovellers in the business, with pronouns and rainbow flags, modern audiences, and paragraph long stories about them wanting to change the industry before even mentioning any love for games.
It honestly could be even shittier than we expect, because at least Infinite seemed to mostly keep that crap out.
Brilliant work doing your research into the people in the vid. That's going to help others have an idea of what to expect from the "new studio".
