Well, Battletech has agrimechs and WH40K has Knights (smaller Titans) helping clean up the farmlands on periphery worlds (because there's no other heavy machinery). So it's kinda compatible with both settings!

This is like that Love, Death, and Robots episode "Suits"! So excited for this one!

I like that the building cleared the grass from directly under it, and nowhere else. So many games either just leave the grass poking up through whatever you've built, or splash down a giant bare spot. I know it's just aesthetics, but it looks good.

On the rain not getting rid of the toxic goo. I see it as the rain doesn't have enough water pressure to disperse said goo.

"I kinda prefer it" he says as he looks at the mech with the starter parts still on it. lol

When you hear a jingly noise you've got to go investigate it, that's a gamer law.

Something about looking out of a cockpit makes first person so immersive

"Seed AC". What a great combination of words I never thought I would hear.

    Battletech: Periphery Farming Simulator 3020

Keith Laumer touched on this theme way back in the '70s. It was a Bolo story where an old Bolo (don't recall what model, but before the Mk25) was repurposed as farm machinery on a remote colony world. Of course, it's still a Bolo even if it has an agricultural mission profile. Then the aliens show up--as they do--and pests must be eliminated, no matter what they are or where they come from.

Power glove and chainsword from the get-go, I like these new 40K games.

Oh good lord I can feel the hours I'm gonna lose in the this title, wishlist immediately

There was this gamebook (an ancient, lost concept) in the 90s, with this incredibly schlocky name: "Robot Commando." It was set on the planet where people use mechs to farm, and ranch dinosaurs. It was beyond cool and I have been missing something like that ever since.

After looking at the mech from the front, I immediately got "Tractor Tom" flashbacks, 15 years ago knew it almost by heart, cos my kid loved it :)

  • @misterphoenyxx5159

LMAO! I couldn't stop laughing when you attached the engine and I realized the mech was a tractor with legs and arms. Lololol!

  • @Carpatheon.

Reminds me of Waarhammer 40k Knight worlds. They were essentially industrial mechs, used for settling new worlds. When things got bad, the converted them into war machines.

It's amusing how little attention Splattercat pays to what is going on.

Maybe the vaccum tool would be on the palm of the left hand so you always have it up, it would greatly diminish the tool swapping

Battletech has an era known as the Republic Era, where after a massive war everyone decided that they were either too weak and exhausted from war that they decided they needed to economically redevelop and so a lot of Mechs were either scrapped or turned into farm, forestry, mining, or construction equipment until 50 years later chaos ensued when the HPG network went down.
