Dan should run a Rover specialist garage. His knowledge and commitment shines through. He's a dedicated Rover man. Wonderful cars, especially this one. His other Rover 20 is particularly rare and one to watch.
Great video and content Sheldon , Darren is a very engaging, capable and wise man and can concur with many of his comments regarding modications .This must be one of the finest surviving P6 estates and April Yellow suits it well in my opinion . Very much look forward to seeing progression on his marvellous 20h.p Salmons Tickford coupe .
Thanks Sheldon and Darren for this treat. What a beautiful resto. I love the colour, it really suits it. The 5 speed box is a great mod. Love it. You probably know that the last of the NZ assembled P6Bs were available in a similar colour. Not sure of its name but they looked nice.
Awesome video sheldon! That Rover p6 estate is so cool. Everything from the colour, wheels and the sound of the V8 is simply stunning. I really didn't know much about the Rover p6 estates (apart from how rare they were), so I've learnt a lot from this video. 👍
With you on the river build quality Darren. Undoing 7/16 th fastenings on my series one that hadn’t been undone for many years, and spent their time covered in mud. All came undone and when wire brushed had no pitting at all. Meanwhile other zinc plated 7/16 nuts and bolts were just shearing off after three years.
Love the Rover P6’s and the Estouras. It lives again, it’s beautiful and looks amazing, well done. I just love the lines on a P6 , yeah they rust and rot, but it’s the same with most classic cars and resto and preservation is the norm.
Wat a rare and really tidy estate must of taken alot of work Dan has done a fantastic job just needs to start driving it and enjoy it instead of it sitting in the garage getting dust on it
A "courious bit": "Estoura" in Portuguese, means "blows up"... (I hope it's not the case...) 😅 BTW: beautiful Estate! Congrats to the owner! I know we can't save them all... but this one it's saved!
My father had a HR Owen one of these.. Does that make sense because I was very young.. We went on a family trip to Wales and my sister and I sat in the boot (it was different back then) lol. It was a tea colour with black leather auto. My father put it in storage , never knew what happened to it.
This is amazing! Despite having owned a P6 Rover (2.2TC) and having been keenly interested in cars since childhood I don't think I've ever seen a P6 estate (being honest, I didn't even know they existed 😮)
I had a 2000 SC estate on wire wheels in yellow, one of 9 P6,s the rest were S saloons the last being PBP178M with 53k and rot free. A scum bag stole it and I got it back with the front corner beat in. Still have a P5B coupe since 1985 though
I sold it in px for a 1933 Rover 16 6 light saloon, the decision was made because I didnt want to spend £300 a corner just on hubs and splines rebuilt plus relacing the wheels and new rims a total of ball park £2k + tubes, tyres. P6 wires were unique just to the P6. I initially thought they would be OK BL parts bin but not the case. I never saw it again unfortunately.
@@classic_britain Your mic was fine, but not his :) Shame, as it's an interesting video, can't you sort the sound out? Or add subtitles to his remarks.
@@classic_britain Maybe you can redo his parts (clean it up in software) or offer up some subtitles for his parts. We can all hear you fine, but he sounds like he's in a drawer full of socks 👍

I would say it is the best estate in my view

Have you learnt to drive yet? Your antique mate on your first attempt at UA-cam was a class act.

A guy who knows his p6's and knows how to do it! Great information.
He is one of the Gurus for sure!

What a beauty, with a gorgeous burble and truly sorted.
Great video, very slick production quality!
Deep joy! 👍😎
Glad you liked it more on the way!
Dan, that has to be a very rare model, especially with the 3.5 V8. In my opinion it looks classy.
What a truly beautiful car . Estate often look so much better than saloon cars
