Amen! it took me way too many years to choose my truth. In the process we destroy all those around us as well. I will say that when I finally left my marriage, there was no fear, no thoughts no nothing. It was a feeling of nothingness, it was as if I never even met him. It may sound crazy, but its true. When your done , its a silent knowing.
Debra I am in that situation right now. I am afraid that I might not be able to manage by myself and some legal implications involved. I can believe I am having to put up with infidelity and there was even violence at some point. Luckily we are cordially existing in the same household sorta like roommates. Hopefully, this also will pass.
