      So little Japan vlog channels ? Good sir i think you are mistaken, there are in fact, allot of Japan vlog channels, allot of crap ones aswel if i may share my opinion. If Ryotaro has a hidden agenda and wants to rid us of Japan vlog channels he might want to pick up the pace.....preferably leaving this channel as last.

    I should have foreseen the inevitable. Folks are pointing out there are places far colder than Japan with lots of snow, which is all well and good, but remember, very cold doesn't equal lots of snow. Cold + moisture = snow. Japan gets hit by freezing Siberian winds that come across the Sea of Japan carrying silly amounts of moisture.
    - GOOGLE it for more explanations and cracking good snow photos.

      Hi Chris, I lived in a Northern Ontario city called Timmins, Ontario Canada for 20 years. In Timmins I've seen temperatures as cold as -60 degrees Celsius. Timmins also would get a shit load of snow during the winter which would go from late October to early May sometimes. I feel the same way about snow and cold temperatures as you Chris. Winter fucking sucks balls!!!!

    You: What does the fox say?
    Chris: Weird noises?
    Foxes in japan: *weird cuteish yelping noises*
    Grown European fox: hold my rodent... *loud screaming as if from a woman being assaulted in the forest*
    And always at night time. It's extremely creepy first time you hear it, especially if you don't know beforehand what a fox sounds like...

    • @despairia
      @despairia 4 роки тому +15

      Never fear, European foxes also make the weird yelping sounds (called gekkering). I was only familiar with the "woman screaming in the night" fox call, so when I heard a mess of what I believed to be magpies in desperate straits in my yard one night, I was very confused and had to sleuth around online to figure out what the noise was. If I recall correctly, foxes gekker to resolve disputes without physical fighting.

      That's because it always snows in Sweden. I remember reading somewhere that countries have to prepare for bad weather, and since in England you never know if "bad weather" is going to be snow, or a flood, or a drought in the summer, the politicians don't know what to spend the money on and that's why we have absolutely no defences against anything.

    • @monhi64
      @monhi64 Рік тому +2

      Yeah it’s an island country, so even knowing little about Japan especially it’s climate I can tell you the wind likely blows over the Sea of Japan picks up a ton of moisture then hits the mountains which sends the air up forces all the precipitation out which DUMPS snow. I’m not positive it blows from the west in Japan but it does that mostly everywhere across the planet. So the difference is that NY or DC, they just have dry ass land to the west of them and it’s already given up most of its moisture.

    No matter how bad of a week I'm having your videos never fail to cheer me up. I owe you one Chris, after years of saying "some day I will visit Japan" and then putting it off, I've actually booked my flights and accommodation to finally explore a bit of Japan. Your videos gave me the final push to actually get it booked after a long period of being a blithering idiot, cheers!

    This is funny to watch as a Canadian. I feel very adapted to this type of life. We go out in snow storms for fun and build a shelter to have campfires. On January 1st 2019 I had spent the night sleeping in a Tipi up in the mountains and hiking around in the snow. LOVED IT! So maybe visit us only in the summer months in Canada. Love the videos!! Long time viewer. Keep up the amazing work.

      Lefa I had to look it up, but I live in #9 on the list (Rochester, New York) and the two cities I'm between are also on the list (#5 Syracuse and #10 Buffalo). I believe we're the only US cities on the list and it's ONLY because we get massive amounts of lake effect snow from Lake Erie (for Buffalo) and Lake Ontario (for Rochester and Syracuse). It sucks lol.

    • @Finlandpro1

      Yeah, I knew Syracuse got a lot of snow (like...a LOT of snow...usually the snowiest place in the US) however, I didn't quite comprehend how snowy Western New York was due to the Lake Effect snowfalls we get. We are only on the list because of it.

    • @lauren6429
      @lauren6429 7 років тому

      And just to restate, Syracuse New York was #5 on the list behind four Japanese cities and Rochester/Buffalo New York are #9 and #10. My mind was blown today. I knew we got a lot of snow, but I didn't quite realize how much lol

    • @seneca983
      @seneca983 3 роки тому +2

      I think the proximity to the sea just means a lot of snowfall (or rainfall) and the mountains make it all rain in one place. Also, Alaska's coldness might mean less moisture in the air and therefore less precipitation and less snow. (But this is just my speculation, not certain knowledge.)
