Thank you for sharing your family pictures and memories. I remember your dad as a young man who spent many hours with his dad wondering the old campus of LeTourneau College. As a student, first time away from home, your family made all of us feel as if we were part of your family. I first set foot on LeTourneau campus 1961. My how times have changed the old campus to the new modern University. As a working freshman, I helped build "Mom and Pop's" new home on the old campus. Many times we were invited to the old home place to join in with special celebrations and just good conversation. I have wonderful memories of my adventures in Longview and maintain friendship with many of my college friends. We will be celebrating our 50th. Class Reunion this year and I hope to be able to return for the first time. I will always cherish the memory of your Dad and your wonderful family. May God continue to bless you and your family. Thanks for the memories. Bobby L. Ferrell Sr. Class of 1965
I'm truly sorry to hear about your dad. I graduated from LeTourneau in 1990. I was almost 30, but it was a world class education. Your family really means a lot to me even now. Amazing how one solitary man could impact to many. And how his children continued a life of ministry. "He is no fool to give what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose." You come from a special group of people.
Sorry to learn of your loss. My father worked with your paternal grandfather in Peoria and I recognize Plant 1 along Grant Street at 2:40 in your slideshow. My father and his brothers spoke so very highly of your grandfather, as a very inspiring employer and a darned good man. The tone of deep respect and admiration was palpable in their tone. I am probably the proudest alumnus from LeTourneau University.
Thanks for sharing the family archives. Sorry for the departure of your Pops. The life of your grand father RG is impacting my life and I am at a loss of words for the admiration I have for him and Evelyn. They proved God to be true, and God really did work with them. R.G IS MY HERO!
