Me too. Left after 2 attempts. These 2 yrs were full of depression and anxiety. I can't spend entire yr at the mercy of a single exam. By the way those who are commenting u can't do it. Let me tell u, I had also given MBA entrances as a backup. I scored 99.50+ percentile in nmat, 98.76 in snap and also cracked xat and received offers from all these prestigious institutions. I am now working on interview prep. Avg ctc of these institutions is 25 lpa. I know it's tough to switch, but if u don't, u will feel cursed after wasting yrs. Also after a time pvt sector will close doors for u. So don't hesitate to switch. My plan is to do MBA finance and get into global investment banks and then switch to imf and world bank of the world. Very few ias post retirement may get these roles. Upsc is glorified. There are positions which are very impactful in other sectors. Just come out of blackhole, before it swallows u
If it in the field that you can grow in then take it in a blink of a second I have heard people just making 5000 and then making 1 lahk in span of 3 years and remember doing something is way better than doing nothing
Focus on the field in which you are good at and you like it. Focus in it and become better. Nobody gets paid high salary for being mediocre in 10 fields. But, one gets highly paid for being best in one field. Good luck

Looking back after 2 failed prelims as a full time aspirant my parents vetoed my decision to go for a third. They forced to do a master and now I have job. I'm still thinking of giving it but the job I have gives me a lot of peace compared to the anxiety prone days when I was preparing.

But after spending around a year in the industry I realized that even though I liked this field I am made for something that demands more of me , not just intellectually. From my personal experience, I was preparing for exams between 2019 and 2021, and my bad, I couldn't clear any exams. So, I left preparing for that and became a Software Engineer in a small company around 2022. If you can't clear an exam within 600 to 800 days, you must look for other ways to get a life.

It's your problem guy's... आपकी असफलता आपके निजी कर्म या आपके व्यक्तिगत कर्म से हो सकती है लेकिन इसी छात्र आजकल गुमराह नहीं होते क्योंकि जो अच्छे से Dedicated है उनका सिलेक्शन तो होना ही है If you are not successful in UPSC in the first attempt, then you can probably prepare for the other exam. In my first attempt, I wrote UPSC Mains myself but after that I was not cleared in the final, then after that I wrote UPSC EO/AO 2023-24 and Finally selected. Now I'm job secured so at least I have this much confidence and now I am engaged in UPSC CSE with all my heart. In There is also Waiting an interview for UPSC IFOS 2024 ( expected in may 2025) .Therefore, if you are not able to succeed in UPSC in the first attempt, then you must find a good job in the second attempt with less work and then try after that, you will not regret in life.
I have been preparing for diff govt competitive exams for 7 years. Ek taraf increasing gap years that further reducing options in job market. Dusri taraf wo exams jinko bas crack karlo and you are IN irrespective of gap years or low college grades. Decision making is never that easy. Pluss this is India. Just can't complain.😂
These 8 years are not wasted. She made it because, lately many upsc hustlers who invested big and failed are gaining virality by posting about their failures. And for all the youtubers who think that studying for this exam is a waste, they are low on wisdom and do not know how life works. I got in preparation of govt exams during covid years... I belong to himachal and most of jobs are available in Delhi and chandigarh and I never wanted to leave mountains, fresh air, clean water for polluted and congested traffic conditions of cities. All your points are valid for people already living in cities and populated areas but if one is living in good environment already I don't think private jobs in big cities are good option. I got selected in a govt job recently and now will have opportunity to work in my state away from polluted cities and traffic congestions... But if one is already living in cities there is no harm getting a job and preparing side by side...
My message to this girl: Abhi v kuch options hain. Wo sab knowledge ka use kar k as a teacher teaching start kar do at UPSC coaching. Better option yehi hai ki UPSC Teaching ke sath sath u must do BEd/MEd, so that future mein kisi acchi pvt school mein ek acchi teacher ban jao. Mere hisab se ye aapke liye sahi hoga. my opinion about upsc and other competative exams whether one should prepare or not - you can prepare but some period has too be decided because in upsc 15lakh people apply and 1000 get selected and for prepration itself it takes one year and for exam it takes one more year if you fail in either of the stage whether pre mains interview again you have to start from scratch so according to me you should give only one attempt fully if you dint get success come out of this trap and try for an other options like carrier in private sector or continue your family business or anything or you can prepare along with job and you might question like he or she cleared in first attempt you dont know they might be prepared from college itself

I am sorry but i differ with your perspective. The people who are preparing for competetive exams and give years to it, it is their choice and time and nobody has a right to comment that upsc is a time waste just because few get selected in the end. What about NEET prep? JEE prep ? Leave that even people have spent years in startups but failed a lot if times and finally could'nt succeed , even youtubers took mote than 6-7 years to.succed. Watch Ankur Aggarwals wines josh talks. So i feel this struggle is their in every career choice you make but people only give gyaan to upsc aspirants as they have never even tasted their journeys. Dusron ka failure batane mein sabko maza aata hai. 😊 It always takes courage to choose a difficult career path where only few succeed.
Of course - I agree that every career path has it's own struggles. And I agree that it takes courage to pursue a path whether it is business/UA-cam/UPSC. My point however, is that it's not worth it if you dedicate 5-8 years only preparing for a exam which has extremely low probability, without having a backup option and quitting strategy in place.
I prepared for upsc and other government exams like bank, railways, ssc etc. I was lucky to quit them after first attempt when my optional geography teacher showed me reality
Same I m go through from last 7 years just becoz of my father's pressure he makes me fill all the forms of govt vacancies right to lowest to highest post , I totally devastated mentally, emotionally and physically 🥺

Earlier everything was fine till 10th, then in March 2021 I went to 11th, then I don't know what happened, I did not feel like studying, I completed 12th in 2023 and sir I am from a lower middle class family. After 12th sir I started studying, I also started doing it but sir now I am stuck in a government job only. I’m also stuck. 5yrs, no prelims cleared. I lost my well to study, but my family is not letting me go out and do work. They are constantly expecting me to clear exam, so they can marry me to an officer because we don’t have so much money to pay for dowry. Life is hard when you don’t get enough opportunities. I just watch UA-cam and waste my time and often feels suicidal. Then I read some spiritual test to come myself down. I thought maybe I get freedom after marriage, but I’ve been rejected by 10 guys because I’m jobless and ugly. I don’t know what to do out of my life is morning. I get up to get scolded and end after getting haunted. To be honest, I have no way to live also.
Don't worry, everything will be alright. Time has one tendency, that it never stops ,whether it's good or bad. Just remember you are the most important person for yourself in this entire world,so you need to take care of yourself first.

I had given two attempts of NEET 2020 and 21 in second attempt i understood that i am not able to prepare for this exam.then i am graduated with B. Sc. in 2024 and i am preparing for CFTRI exam to do M. Sc. in food tech.
From 2022 to 2023 i was preparing for Medical national exam i gave 2 attempts in first attempt not selected but in 2nd i prepared with full energy and got good scores admitted into medical college but that was bds that i never want, at that time i have 2 plan 1st was MBBS and 2nd was any pharmaceutical and biotechnology research related fields. As i mentioned i got admitted into medical college but i left that seat because that was not my interest and I am in one of top pharmaceutical university in china with scholarship doing pharmaceutical science which is interest area. I have so many opportunities in future and now well equipped lab and Asia 1st pharmaceutical lab, Asia rank 1st university in pharmaceutical science.

If you are not successful in UPSC in the first attempt, then you can probably prepare for the other exam. In my first attempt, I wrote UPSC Mains myself but after that I was not cleared in the final, then after that I wrote UPSC EO/AO 2023-24 and Finally selected. Now I'm job secured so at least I have this much confidence and now I am engaged in UPSC CSE with all my heart. In There is also Waiting an interview for UPSC IFOS 2024 ( expected in may 2025) .Therefore, if you are not able to succeed in UPSC in the first attempt, then you must find a good job in the second attempt with less work and then try after that, you will not regret in life.

I got in preparation of govt exams during covid years...
I belong to himachal and most of jobs are available in Delhi and chandigarh and I never wanted to leave mountains, fresh air, clean water for polluted and congested traffic conditions of cities.
All your points are valid for people already living in cities and populated areas but if one is living in good environment already I don't think private jobs in big cities are good option.
I got selected in a govt job recently and now will have opportunity to work in my state away from polluted cities and traffic congestions...
But if one is already living in cities there is no harm getting a job and preparing side by side...

My message to this girl: Abhi v kuch options hain. Wo sab knowledge ka use kar k as a teacher teaching start kar do at UPSC coaching. Better option yehi hai ki UPSC Teaching ke sath sath u must do BEd/MEd, so that future mein kisi acchi pvt school mein ek acchi teacher ban jao. Mere hisab se ye aapke liye sahi hoga. Depression mein bilkul nahi jana, humesha positive rehena, future mein kuch na kuch accha hi hoga. 8 years ka knowledge ko waste mat hone dena.😊

my opinion about upsc and other competative exams
whether one should prepare or not - you can prepare but some period has too be decided because in upsc 15lakh people apply and 1000 get selected and for prepration itself it takes one year and for exam it takes one more year if you fail in either of the stage whether pre mains interview again you have to start from scratch so according to me you should give only one attempt fully if you dint get success come out of this trap and try for an other options like carrier in private sector or continue your family business or anything or you can prepare along with job and you might question like he or she cleared in first attempt you dont know they might be prepared from college itself

I am sorry but i differ with your perspective. The people who are preparing for competetive exams and give years to it, it is their choice and time and nobody has a right to comment that upsc is a time waste just because few get selected in the end. What about NEET prep? JEE prep ? Leave that even people have spent years in startups but failed a lot if times and finally could'nt succeed , even youtubers took mote than 6-7 years to.succed. Watch Ankur Aggarwals wines josh talks. So i feel this struggle is their in every career choice you make but people only give gyaan to upsc aspirants as they have never even tasted their journeys. Dusron ka failure batane mein sabko maza aata hai. 😊 It always takes courage to choose a difficult career path where only few succeed.
Of course - I agree that every career path has it's own struggles. And I agree that it takes courage to pursue a path whether it is business/UA-cam/UPSC. My point however, is that it's not worth it if you dedicate 5-8 years only preparing for a exam which has extremely low probability, without having a backup option and quitting strategy in place.

Sir I feel very bad, I regret a lot, sometimes I remember my past for hours and curse myself. Earlier everything was fine till 10th, then in March 2021 I went to 11th, then I don't know what happened, I did not feel like studying, I completed 12th in 2023 and sir I am from a lower middle class family. After 12th sir I started studying, I also started doing it but sir now I am stuck in a government job only. I am in my graduation 1st year (2nd sem) in my 1st sem i thought of doing upsc cse or many other govt exams like state pcs etc but in now i am realising its not my thing but on other hand i am thinking i am quiting it as i am facing difficult i just dont know i think i should again prep for neet which i failed by margin last year as 1st dropper may be cracking it next year but it will atleast give a direction but one other hand again i am thinking i am thinking right or its just i am jumping from one thing to other
I’m also stuck. 5yrs, no prelims cleared. I lost my well to study, but my family is not letting me go out and do work. They are constantly expecting me to clear exam, so they can marry me to an officer because we don’t have so much money to pay for dowry. Life is hard when you don’t get enough opportunities. I just watch UA-cam and waste my time and often feels suicidal. Then I read some spiritual test to come myself down. I thought maybe I get freedom after marriage, but I’ve been rejected by 10 guys because I’m jobless and ugly. I don’t know what to do out of my life is morning. I get up to get scolded and end after getting haunted. To be honest, I have no way to live also.
Don't worry, everything will be alright. Time has one tendency, that it never stops ,whether it's good or bad. Just remember you are the most important person for yourself in this entire world,so you need to take care of yourself first.

I had given two attempts of NEET 2020 and 21 in second attempt i understood that i am not able to prepare for this exam.then i am graduated with B. Sc. in 2024 and i am preparing for CFTRI exam to do M. Sc. in food tech.
It's all about prestige in society. Nobody wants change, it's all about selfish wealth.
From 2022 to 2023 i was preparing for Medical national exam i gave 2 attempts in first attempt not selected but in 2nd i prepared with full energy and got good scores admitted into medical college but that was bds that i never want, at that time i have 2 plan 1st was MBBS and 2nd was any pharmaceutical and biotechnology research related fields. As i mentioned i got admitted into medical college but i left that seat because that was not my interest and I am in one of top pharmaceutical university in china with scholarship doing pharmaceutical science which is interest area. I have so many opportunities in future and now well equipped lab and Asia 1st pharmaceutical lab, Asia rank 1st university in pharmaceutical science.
