I prefer to believe he is Amish. When he is done with his bass playing he changes clothes and drives a horse and buggy back to the farm. This is his super hero disguise - like Clark Kent he hides in plain sight.
That is probably the best class D amp I've ever heard. Great video Gregor and Renee. You capture the tones so purely. Btw, I watched that visit to DG factory when it came out... Peace and basses
We love rene. I play in a metalcore band and this seems like a really good investment. This amp with my Warwick german Corvette would be a monster sound! Greetings from California 🤘😁
This amp freed me up from so much unneeded gear, and blew a hole through my bass tracking workflow; I am so very stoked on it. Did I read somewhere that the S.I. Footswitch can be used to toggle the cab modeling on the AO900, or is it just the individual buttons as opposed to the single button switch? Thank you Infinite love & gratitude from Colorado!
Yup, my DG B3K pedal gives me all i want. With 14 basses, 6 bass heads, 2 combos, 9 bass cabs and shitload of pedals..I'm pretty much done....for now. ;>)
1. Looks awesome. Newbie here learning about all this stuff and I love the look and sound of this. 2. As of today, your link to buy this in the States is sending us to a speaker on the Sweetwater site. :)
Is the beanie comes with the amp in the box ? Obviously wearing a bass beanie or a having a fret wrap on the nut is top notch these days no matter how good you are... The must have is of course the bass beanie AND the fret wrap in the same time, this make you the king of bass. Over the years, bass is coming just a fashion thing... I don't really explain why, maybe I'm too old for that sh**, why am I regretting the good ol' days ? Yeah, I have an answer maybe, I am now totally "has been" or just "has beanie" listening to James Jamerson, Peter Cetera, Phil Lynott, Roger Waters, Paul Simonon, Mel Schacher, John Entwistle, Pino Palladino (the great Pino I should say), Scott LaFaro, Jack Casady, Cris Squire, Aston Barret, Tony Levin, Louis Johnson and many, many many others... Bass wasn't a fashion thing for me, but just a very simple way of life, for the love of music !
You showed a quick shot of the foot switch, but didn't demonstrate being able to switch from clean to distorted sounds with the switch. I assume you can take the A/O distortion in and out with the switch? I am looking at various class D amps, leaning toward the Bergantino B/Amp or Forte since I have a Bergie cab, but I also want an A/O pedal. This box would have most of the features of the Bergie amp plus the A/O distortion for same price as the Bergie amp by itself... so this is on the list, IF you can switch the distortion on and off with the foot switch. Can you?
I have the mt500, which is a great amp in its own right, and has the option for the intelligent footswitch, and if it’s like mine, it will switch the distortion engine on and off, and if held down for three second it mutes the amp.
His English is far better than my German, believe me. But I have to laugh. His accent is so thick that I honestly thought he was speaking Ze Chemann....
Can your tell me if there is a dedicated line out volume control for the di ? And does it send out instrument level thru the di or line level ? Thank you
@@Methar39 I agree DG makes some very good stuff but starting from the pedals they price their stuff too high, because of the hype and promotion from bass yt channels - I really got tired of all bass videos featuring the same DG metalcore 'karnivool' sound.

Can't afford most of the stuff you guys review, especially Darkglass gear, but I come back regularly to hear Rene and Lars do their bass magic
I just watch these videos because of this guy's witty and original presentation. Don't need the equipment, but can always use the entertainment!
Rene is such a filthy amazing player definitely one of my favorite players ever! WE NEED TO GET HIM in Scott bass lessons and clinic in america.
