I like how you always address making your choice in activities based on what's sustainable for you to do and taking the slow approach. I struggle with consistency, and situations where I need to do more in a shorter amount of time always throws me off balance and it takes too long to recollect myself. But the more I remind myself that others make things work by taking baby steps, the easier it is to take a deep breath and try again--even rebooting with fewer things than I left off with is better than getting flustered.
I love that you always make time to walk and be in nature, so many self made people and creators work super long and never take a break. It’s not healthy or sustainable!
*7:30* I really appreciate the true influencer or inspirational person you are. Honestly speaking you spoke about the most common personality traits of anyone who is hardworking and has a clear vision and goals set in life. Hope, your work and words inspire a lot more people. Thank you, I really connected with you today.😍😍
I’ve been trying to be more productive in growing my art and animation skills, so this came at a really good time. It was really insightful to see how you balance your time in a healthy way that works for you. Sometimes I get so focused on improving now instead of pacing myself for the long journey.
Love the video! thank you! ^^ And also it’s very nice to have someone to share the work with and help with editing and filming. And just share the everyday :3
I totally know the feeling of being excited about some rather unnecessary side project 😅 But I also always make room for these projects since they keep my creative process alive. Thank you so much for your videos - they are always so insightful and helpful!
I really enjoyed this video, it's so nice to see you more and more in front of the camera! I took your course and it was just what I needed to give myself a sense of direction in starting my business. I hope Wales was nice!
Hi Mimi, I've been a silent watcher for a while now and I love your content and how you are so transparent with everything! Your videos are actually useful and really in depth which makes it so much easier to grasp what it actually takes to build an art business. Everyone is different but still, this is so useful. Thank you for the work you do !
Thank you so much for your videos! They really cast a healthy perspective on how to run an illustration business. I really appreciate how open you are about taking time out of your day to do the things that make you feel better (spending time in nature, exercising) rather than continuing to grind out more work when your energy levels are low. I'm getting better at this, but it really helps to have someone reinforce the validity of listening to your body! ☺
this video was amazing and so affirmative. I am a painter and run a business and I follow so many of the same ideologies you do -- not forcing myself to work on something and follow my whims as its more productive and I know I will get back to the other things with more energy if I force it, as well as taking time off when I need and working when I want even on weekends. I am really inspired by you and your success, thank you so much for sharing this with us
Thank you so much for sharing :) My current illustration job contract will unfortunately end in december but I‘m planning to dip my toes into the illustrator freelance + content creation life and you‘re channel is a very nice inspiration.
Hi Mimi, thank you for this video. I can rely so much on working on projects we enjoy, no procrastination there and it's needed for artists who work a lot 🙂 I also found a way to walk like you, to my kids school every day. We do everything on foot in my town.
That's something you can really be proud of. I found that Video very interesting. Perhaps you'd like to post a video like this again? Thanks for sharing, Mimi! ❤❤
Love your process and video! I got your illustrator starter pack, so I'm excited to work through it! Quick question: how much time would you say it takes Dan to finish each video? I don't want to have unrealistic expectations as I build my own channel as well. Thanks for all that you do :)
Pembrokeshire is gorgeous. Hope you managed to visit Manorbier, its my favourite place. Tenby is so pretty with the georgian houses in different colours ❤
Hi Mimi, thanks for the lovely video. You're real inspiration for me as I would love to have similar life style to yours. May I ask how your work week looked like before you started earning sufficient income? Were you working more to build your community and products and now can have this "slower" time thanks to that? Or was your approach like this from the very beginning? Thanks! I can't wait for another video of yours ❤
I definitely worked a lot more before this year, because I felt like I needed to generate sufficient income as soon as possible. It was still always projects that I was excited about though so it didn't always feel like 'work' but the plan was always to slow down a bit once I was earning enough 😊
Hey Mimi! I’m so happy that you and Dan work together to create these amazing videos! But for someone who works alone and has to draw, film, edit themselves, do you have any advice? Actually I’d love to see your filming and editing process.
Whenever I have to make videos on my own (which isn't often fortunately for me) I make sure to keep things simple! At the end of the day I remind myself that I'm making free videos for UA-cam so they don't have to be polished, as long as I get the value across that I wanted to provide. Simple filming and simple editing still go a very long way 😊

That was fun hanging out with you and Dan and seeing how a month might go for you too. Excellent work very inspiring.
Mimi, your work-life strategy and creative journey are both insightful and impressive.

Really enjoyed this video. Not sure what The Algorithim is up to but you got a new subscriber.
Just curious, he’s been boyfriend for more than 4-5 years I believe. Is he getting paid to film you ? Just watching out for a fellow videographer.
Yes I definitely pay him!
Do you pay your boyfriend for filming ?
Wow, I just love that such beautiful places like this exist in our world. 💙🩵💚 🐎🌊
