Hello Chris, I rarely comment on any videos, but after I found your site I have to confess I have been binge watching your videos. I not only like what I see and hear but your attitude and commitment to excellence on your projects resonates with me . I see a life time of experience in not only the handling of equipment but also all your experiences in processing your projects start to finish being brought together on the project you are on in the video you post. This post may get long but may be the only one from me, so here is what I see in action on some of your projects, 1) if you haven’t got time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it over? 2) machines are as good as the maintenance programs that support them. Reference to greasing pins bushings, oil level checks and changes.3) problems are opportunities in disguise and you sir are a master at finding those opportunities. 4) I see an attitude of “ it is what it is, so work with it.” 4) I like the fact you take time to help family and friends, it speaks well of you sir. It is said what you do speaks louder than what you say. To conclude, I used to work on those machines, mostly portable line boring and weld repair, pin manufacturing, and custom bushing machining and hardening. AME appears to be a good company to work with and their use of hardox plate is a long wearing and good choice of materials for the long haul. I wish you the best young man and stay the course, looking forward to more videos and commentaries..

I like watching your videos because you are a great operator and you put out some great content. I've seen others try and it's tough to watch! lol Keep up the good work! ( I don't even watch tv anymore)

If I lived close to chris, he is one guy I think I would truly enjoy working with, all his equipment is nice, he seems super fair to his employees, an I could learn alot from him!!! I've learned so much just by watching an listening to his videos. I've been doing construction since I was 18, an I learn something every day, and watching his videos I learn even more!!!
i like the way that you take great pains not to leave yourself any more work than you hae to do.the sign of a real craftsman.as a retired toolmaker of 40+years i always told the youngsters ,work smarter not harder you wont be young forever.
Rolling rocks looks like the egg rolling at the White house on Easter! In at daybrake and completed back at office before sundown. Satisfaction at its finest! Thank you for taking us to work with you! I enjoy spending part of the day with you!
Chris you now have the right grade for the ditch. The whole shape of the ditch is much improved. Skiing down the hillside. Even the tree looks better. Engineers 🥸
Just dropping by wanted to thank you for putting me on to your method of removing saturated soils and making sure the grade is right before putting anything down on top it’s definitely put me in a comfortable place at work. You see it all the time especially with driveways where the potholes always come back. They shouldn’t come back if you did it right. 🤙🏼. Edit: LMFAO at that tree glad you saved it
When the on site video started, I thought "if I notice the grade on the video, it must have been pretty darn steep," then watched you climb that mini-ex down and wow. Then I thought there was no easy way to get rip-rap down that hill and into that ditch. Looks like I was right twice in a row, that's a record for me. (Just ask my wife.)

Wow! Just watching, you can see that it was an aggravating, time consuming, pain in the backside process. I agree 100%. That tree should have been pulled out of there. But, once again, you were able to turn a mess into a monument.
That does look 100% better! Rough raking those rocks downhill.. Was thinking,maybe a couple sheets of plywood at the top might help,but those are some big rocks!
Just a little suggestion....the next time you have to do a job like this, try laying plywood down the hill and let the dump truck dump the rocks on the plywood. It might get down to you better that way you don't have to keep going up the hill to drag the rocks down...

As kids, it took us awhile, but all the neighborhood boys were in on it, we cleared out a storm drain one rock at a time throwing them all into the pond. 😂😂 Every now and then you take the exact next scoop that I would’ve. But obviously it would take me ten times longer.
Buying and maintenance of heavy Equipment is very expensive. That why working alot is needed. Take lots money to operate. Chris is just a very hard worker, dedicated to succeed.
Just a thought for "the next time",,, three sheets of plywood under where John dumps rocks out should keep momentum for them to roll down further. You must have gotten this job from the city as others may have put in a bid of 3 working days and you can do it in One. Stay warm and dry tonight and Friday up there.

Looked like Bill was a little out of his comfort zone a the top pushing rocks down, maybe because he didn't want to be rolling down too? Even on camera I could see it was a wee bit steep and you used the bucket as a ski going down, I was thinking how is he planning on getting back up the hill? lol 😂
You need to get a Swiss or German yodeler guy in Liederhosen and one of those long horns they blow in the Alps to create a small avalanche to get all them rocks down the hill.
Watching you try to keep the dirt out of the stone got me to wondering. Could an old worn out bucket that you didn't want to use for digging anymore be modified for picking up the stone? If the bottom of the bucket was cut out and replaced with a rebar mesh, I would think the dirt would fall through when the bucket was shaken. Just a thought for you to ponder.
Looks great except some of the rip rap was a bit muddy 😁 definitely tedious getting the rock down there but that was the best way to do it from what I saw 👍🏻
I love tress hell my property is 80% forest but i have no problem removing trees that inhibit projects or don't grow well. that one is in both categories you can always plant more trees that are more appropriate ive got a grove of thorny crab apple trees that i'm in the process of getting rid of to replace with useful fruit trees
You need to find an old dump box from a 50's or 60's dump truck. Set it up on some type of slide rails to move it around. Would make moving that rock easier
Trying to catch the rocks one by one as they come down the hill reminds me of playing Croquet when we're growing up, all that's missing is the wire hoops, the bucket would be the club.

Wow all the Rocks for the ditch. Looks nice now that the water Can flow nicely into the pond without a hassel. I like the netting that covering the graded area and the straw on Top of it. Dont know about the tree Tho 🤣. Doesent make sence. Good job chris 😍💪
It would be much less efficient, but I think I would have amused myself by trying to bowl the rocks down the hill one at a time. Probably not for three truckloads though. And I would probably owe John for a new windshield on the mini.
just a idea ,, someone could have posted ?? over 400 comments . put plywood down temp.. on the ground with post dump rock on the plywood may help rock slide down the hill ,, could also put side boards on the plywood to guide the rock .. like a kids slide .. great video .

I just started operating a skid steer again man dose it feel good to be back in the seat. Nice vid.nice strobe light
Ronnie Williz Skid steers are the machine I least enjoy operating - the ones with wheels, at least. Rock n Roll. Trackers are much better.
