Hi. I own the i5 version of this laptop, but want to upgrade the CPU. Can I throw an i7 in?
Yes. Dell offers this model preconfigured with the following i7 CPU's: 2620M, 2720QM, 2820QM, 2920XM.
@@dellpartspeople So, will I have to change any other parts in it to do that?
@@joeyhillers9460 No. You should be able to simply swap the CPU with no other upgrades.
@@dellpartspeople Ok. And can i put a mxm based 980 in it? Or would that have to require a custom bios?
@@joeyhillers9460 This upgrade is not technically supported by Dell so I can't advise either way.
Hi would this be similar to the m6800 version?
Although they look alike, there are significant differences between the 2 models such as screw configurations and location of components.
