- Here I will share 5 luxury watches that surprisingly make watch collectors happy in 2023. Each of the watches featured here surprise collectors in some way to change their mind from perhaps what they thought about it before trying it on. Sometimes watches are experienced differently on the wrist than on the brand's website or data sheet might suggest.
In this video I cover watches from Tissot, such as the PRX Powermatic. I also touch on luxury watches from Vacheron Constantin as well as others. Not surprisingly, Rolex, Patek, and the other blue chip brands are not touched on.
I tried to include different watch price points as well with an affordable watch as well as high end watch.
I have bought an ice blue 40mm PRX and loved it so much and bought the 35 mm one for my wife. She loves it too. PRX is a real game changer watch.
Congrats on the VC. I Like it a lot. As I can’t ever recall seeing an even remotely ugly IWC, I just reckon they ooze class (throughout all their collections). Thanks and God bless.
I've purchased on Amazon: Calvin Klein watch for 135 USD with ETA movement with date complication (worthed 145 USD on that day on-line ETA shop), sapphire glass, exhibition sapphire back side, very good bracelet quality and bored dial. MSRP was 750 USD. My idea was, it will be parts giver to my other watches. Long story ... .
I holding out on the PRX for a movement upgrade. Perhaps the one included in the 1938 COSC model?
I guess I'm in the minority, but just can't warm up to integrated bracelets. Any of them. Love the IWC.
I have the light blue Tissot and was surprised at how good it looks on my wrist.
42mm is speedmaster size, lets not go overboard! 38-42mm are normal size for normal men. now 32 and 45mm that’s midget and giant country. But 42mm is not big for 175-185cm men
PRX 35 is awesome for every single day.
At a different price point the DJ36 punches above its weight.
For me, the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo.. I bought one.. and I was surprisingly impressed how it is.. now its still my Fav among my collection.
Great watch!
Thank you, John.. Keep it up 👍
nowadays I'm getting more curious about other brands such as Parmigiani; Tonda, but strange feeling.. the wieght is different! Which neither good or bad
Thank you for ‘sharing’ that John.
Very kind of you 🙇🏻♂️
I am in a much better place now 😂
Great sales pitch 😂
Hope you manage to sell them soon 🙄
None of these watches are in stock. The Vacheron is my watch. Not sure what you are saying.
A few years before the Tissot PRX was released, my father's and mother's 1970s Tissot Seastar watches were handed down to me. I had enjoyed the styles of these watches, but they were showing some wear and tear. When the PRXs were released, I knew I had to get one. Over time, I purchased a 40 mm size with a leather band, a rubber band, and the 35 mm Ice Blue with the bracelet (all battery operated). These three PRXs will not be the last of my purchases. Currently, I am deciding on a 35 or 40-mm gold one, one of the digital watches, and an automatic version. The one watch in my collection that brings me the highest joy is my 1965 Omega Seamaster Deville, a watch my mother gave to my father when she found out she was pregnant with me. Thanks for all your videos.
The gold powermatic 80 is a showstopper. The brushed gold makes it look like a high end watch
Is the VC non Hacking?
Great video! I currently own two PRXs. Both 40mm automatic models. One with the white dial and gold bezel and the ice blue version. My only gripe is with the ice blue. There is a bit of an iridescent quality to the dial and it tends to wash out the hands in most lighting conditions. Because of that, I find myself leaving it in the watchbox more than white dial
Interesting! Thanks for sharing.
I think the PRX is a little over rated. I've owned 3 now, in the effort of trying to make myself like them but I just can't get along with it.
Try the 35mm. Wears big.
Not a fan of modern Tissot at all. They just look very sterile but a vintage Tissot T12 Visodate or a Tissot Navigator chronograph or a Sea star 40506 would be my choices.
I was disappointed with the PRX handset finishing, but I could say the same about other watches at this price and beyond. Often looks like stamped metal.
Yes, because 10-15 years ago, IWC wasn’t finishing their watches the way they are today. Specifically compare a pilot chrono from 06-07 to the ones you get today. Look at the tang buckle, how sharp its edges were, the poor finish on their hands and the date window. Portugeisers were better for sure but again, not as good as their modern iterations. Compare them to the Breitlings of the time that were finished just so so well in comparison and the bracelets they were offering.
Bell & Ross BR03-92 Heritage black case. Lots of 'wrist presence' and fun to look at.
If you get a big brand like Lum-Tec or Rolex you'll be happy.
That VC ❤
