Loki ,the now God of Stories, just became Atlez, the Costodian of the Marvel Multiverse! This is a DEEEEEEP Marvel Comics cosmic character cut. Good job to the writers, Tom and everyone on this in the creation of this INCREDIBLE story. But good point Geek Buddies. He is also acting as the Ysidril of the MCU with that beautiful imagery.
@@angelpipessd yeh it’s awesome! Cause in that comic run atlez was tasked with sitting there as an anchor for all the multiverse. Which is what Loki literally does in the finally. Everyone keeps saying god of stories. But I don’t think that’s it. If Loki was, then he could’ve literally rewritten everything in 5 minutes.
What a glorious finale! Sticking the landing makes 'Loki' the best of the MCU Disney TV shows. It was an episode befitting of its titular character with such amazing writing & performances. For the first time ever (because of these newly appointed directors), I'm optimistic about Disney's Daredevil.🤞
This series shows why when the MCU is at their best their the greatest comic book franchise of all time. You can’t just ignore this franchise after Endgame and say well marvel can’t do better than that. Phase 4 and 5 isn’t perfect but they have great projects that gives you hope for the future 💯💯
Thinking of the personal hell purgatory Loki was in is still sticking with me. When the title card of “centuries later” came up I almost felt sucked into the purgaotory with him. Still in shock best show to date from Marvel
The way marvel fits everything together so that when you see the big picture it's more impressive, I think the change in tone from the infinity saga to the multivers saga is explained by the change from he who remains controlling the multivers in a strict way to the God of mischief allowing the multivers to run wild. No way home was the first movie under lokis multivers
What is interesting is that the Tree is in the background of O.B.’s laboratory when Loki sits down with him after talking about time slipping. You can see in the background.
Lokis sacrifice was magnificent!! He didn’t wanna lose his friends and be alone but in season 1 he was in a loop with Lady Siff and she told him he wa destined to always be alone! That was a fantastic call back!! I also feel when they showed Renslayer in the past they lingered on that pyramid. I believe she will meet 1 of kangs variants… Rama tut! A question as immovable as Sylvie thought she was, would she have felt as strongly if she knew what loki had to do for them?? Because she was definitely NOT wanting loki to go out there.
How the story ends is too beautiful. This Loki is from the end of 1st Avengers movie, he was all about having the throne. Episode 1 of season 1 still continues that thread. Throughout the two seasons, in the end Loki does not want the throne anymore, he just want his friends back and not being alone. The end being he got to sit on the throne (finally) but he is forever separated with his friends. But knowing that his friends gets to live their life with freewill makes Loki content with being alone on his throne, how bittersweet.
I don't know about you guys but to me this is some of the best sci-fi of any medium ever, I'm not even joking. It's crazy to see where Thor is at this point compared to Loki...Thor needs some redemption so badly he's completely regressed. Maybe I was feeling sensitive too but all the Mobius stuff at the end made me kinda teary. God bless that man. If this is Loki's ending then it's completely satisfying. It was so perfect and poetic. Hiddleston deserves an emmy
Great series ending just felt sad he became what he always wanted, to be lonely at the top seeing his face. That was very sad but he has best story arc in mcu.
I thought this episode was just wonderful and, while I've always loved the Loki series, I think this is now up there with my very favourite things in the MCU. Also, as a consequence of not being particularly invested in the overall mess of the MCU in general I don't think I care if they follow up on any of this stuff or not and that will in no way detract from how I felt about this series and the characters in it. And I just want to say again how absolutely wonderful Natalie Holt's music in this series was.
Loki finally becomes a real God/King/Hero by living in service of others Fantastic series. Great finale. A true masterpiece from Marvel; everyone involved should be very proud of their work on this series.
My two bits: ➡️We deserve this wonderful series and its glorious finale. Thank you Team Marvel!! 💚💛💚 ➡️Tom Hiddleston fully deserves to be the new Lead/ Figurehead of the MCU, he has proven professionally and personally that he is the complete package that can be relied upon 💯🏆✨ ➡️As Sylvie said "He's giving us a chance" and that includes Jonathan Majors and the Kang storyline 👍 ➡️Having said that, I think it's really obvious that the Loki series has given Marvel an alternative route in the event that the Majors situation goes south, I thought it's pretty clear where the shifting gears happened in this series and unfortunately that affected the story lines of several characters : Brad, Renslayer, Judge Dox and all the other TVA people and Victor Timely / He Who Reimains himself... in fact to the astute observer, it's pretty clear where the reshoots are, because those are the plot points that shifted the gears to where we have Loki end up where he ended up as with the rest of the gang. Maybe Mobius even ended up quitting the TVA completely, because B-15 walking alone into the meeting has a pensive feel to it, like she just survived a loss-gain situation that is bittersweet. ➡️Anyways this also positions Tom Hiddleston to either retire from Marvel (in a blaze of Green Glory) or take up the reigns and be the new Lead of the MCU, Loki certainly is in a position to be Everything Everywhere All At Once 😉.
My first thought when the episode ended was that I needed to go back and watch Thor. It has been such a ride with Loki and I love Tom Hiddleston, so I might just take that journey Michael mentioned when I have the time.
Legit, Tom Hiddleston's Loki has arguably the BEST character arc of any MCU villain or hero in the entire 2 decades of Feige's MCU! With the end of Loki Season 2, I'm for sure betting we'll see more of Hiddles as Loki in the multiverse saga! I like that this version Loki essentially had to actually come to terms with his "purpose" without the burden of the same guilt from Dark World or Ragnorok, and also the death in IFW. well done all around Also this gives Disney a DEF way to recast JM. Now that the TVA is hunting Kang variants, namely looking like Timely, what's to stop Kang from finding a way to "alter" his appearance to someone different than Timely?
Great show about a great show, Guys. Really, really love each episode. Agree with you, John. Loki has ascended way past Thor. Becoming 'He who maintains' rather that 'Remains'. Really hope we see more of him in the coming MCU where he hopefully brings the Avengers together to fight Kang. Agree with you about Sophie, Michael. She really is the immovable object. Loki's choice to break the cycle was him taking the decision to steer away from the cycle he knew would keep going forever. Can't wait to see where the rest of the MCU goes from here. And, by the way, me and my friends really enjoyed The Marvels. Miss Matvel and her family were a real standout. Lots of love and respect from London.
I do wonder if the timing of this finale - being released on the exact same date that The Marvels opened - is very much deliberate. Everyone is talking about how great Loki 2 is and it’s drowning out what would otherwise have been overwhelming negativity re The Marvels. Can you imagine what the mood and discussion would be like if The Marvels had been released on its own.
Loved it, and glad y'all enjoyed it...and also glad I know to skip y'all's Marvels review cuz I loved that, too! I had a VERY different Thursday night viewing experience to Vogel! 😍
I don't think Mike is correct in his listing of the Loki filmography. At least this Loki variant. Tom Hiddleson has played two Loki variants. The sacred timeline variant that died at the start of Avengers: Infinity War. And the God of Stories variant that went: Thor, Avengers - but not fully - he never left for Asgard, Avengers: Infinity War - but only the alternate timeline part where that Loki uses an Infinity stone to jump out of that timeline, ... to eventually get captured by the TVA at the start of Loki season 1. Loki season 2. Both variants have journeys that have ended with Loki making some form of sacrifice.
I must disagree with Vogel. I think a pivot to Doom would energize the fan base. He's insanely popular & it's also well known that he's the villain in both versions of Secret Wars. As long as they do it well, 🙏, pivoting to Doom would totally work.
This was a great finale to a great series. Though at the end they should have had a statue of loki in the TVA. It would have been poetic. Especially since he was left out of the norse statues in the worlds fair episode. If anyone would revere loki as a god, it would be the tva.
This has been the best from mcu for me, I think the kid mobius was supposed to prune but couldn't was kid loki at the end of time. Also lokis tears in that last scene were real, they had all been saying their goodbyes on set right before filming this scene, i also feel the gold appearing in his throne was almost like odin was giving him his approval
He Who Remains might not of had a counter or seen what Loki did at the end because he couldn’t see the selfless act they Loki did as He Who Remains would never do or choose that
I do disagree with Michael in the sense that this is a universe. And every movie shouldn't connect to another, we are in a world where things happen and affect other things but not everything connects to one final point, and that's how it should be
Hmm just had a thought about Sylvie, being a Loki Variant, shouldn't she have her own glorious purpose.. what if she's wasting her powers. I mean I know she was hunted down her whole life and only wants a simple free existence, but...
Im very satisfied with all of the MCU. some stumbles along the way doesn't make me doubt it in the slightest. over 40 projects and maybe 2 could be considered bad MOM & ScrtINV. that's a good damn batting average. By Wandavision logic, Mobius has to leave his family undisturbed. He is a variant of the person he is watching.
Thanks!
Thank you, Sharon!
I rewartched both seasons after the finale. It all works on the screen. Impressive storytelling. Why does t the MCU stay on this frequency???
The time infinity stone is also green in color 🤷♂
Was Loki caught in Kang's loop, or is Kang caught in the God of Stories loop?
Good question!
Maybe Marvel should learn from Loki and replace the loom vs trying to patch and fix their MCU machine.
So Mobius has the choice to jump into his old life with his kids if he wants? Him watching himself left me a bit confused.
