@@sunflower-oo2vk lolzzz i forgot that oprheus sings that i thought you meant like he's covering his ear and saying lalalalalalalal lolz thats funnier though
"I was lonely without you so I opened a business" Say what you want about Hades, but he's certainly good at channelling his energy into productive endeavors
So basically it's a fine line you have to walk to keep from being a jobless bum and a workaholic in order to have a good relationship. Orpheus needs to get at least a part time and help with the chores, and Hades needs a more benign hobby or activity that he can include Persephone in, or maybe they could at least take a trip somewhere nicer. @@cadencurtis6784 Just think about the fact that any child born, from both Zeus and Hera, were the pure chaotic evil (ex.: Ares, Eris...). They simply aren't a good match, since Zeus It's infidel and selfish and Hera is vindictive, profoundly jealous and snob. Other deities have at least some hope, and Hades and Persephones have maybe the best marriage between them all.
In the Broadway, it's more of a mix of Hades' workaholic attitude and possessiveness. Persephone leaves the underworld to go up above for supposedly 6 months but Hades keep on bringing her back to the underworld before those 6 months end. So Persephone spends less and less time above and more and more time below (which added to her growing resentment to Hades). Hades built the factory because, in part, he thought this would keep Persephone down there with him.
This version shows Eurydice's frustrations a lot better than the broadway one... and kinda shows how Eurydice got convinced quickly during Hey, Little Songbird
I’m slowly and deeply falling in love with this amazing musical! It’s just so good! Something tells me I’ll be binge listening the cast recording for the next few months 😅🤩🤩
That's because I'm this version she's more focused on surviving the winter than being with orpheus , but Eva show that there's actual turmoil and she does want to stay with orpheus
Eva’s version wasn’t mad she was upset and focused more on surviving winter, Eva’s version also tried to believe the songs would shelter and harbour them unlike this version
you guys need to understand, persephone went away for long times to the mortal realm, hades just wanted her to stay, so he tried recreating artificial sunlight, heat, and more so it would be more like what she was used to, he just wanted her to stay with him
This is true, but it's also true that Persephone fairly clearly laid out what was wrong with this attempt to give her what she craves artificially, and his response is to woo a hungry and vulnerable younger woman to make (himself feel better / his wife jealous).
The movement and expressions are perfectly-timed. I loved that Orpheus hugged Eurydice when she was worrying. I loved how creepy Hades was in his second verse with Persephone (especially the light in his eyes while Persephone glared down at the...glare). Even just the character designs themselves and the backgrounds and imagery in general were so pretty and perfectly-suited. Also, please do other songs on the soundtrack. I almost don't care which ones; just do more Hadestown please. You're so good.
This is my favorite song from this musical at the moment. It perfectly sums up the central conflicts. THIS WAS SO GOOD, especially considering it's your first attempt! The ending was chilling with the eyes, but you especially did well with Persephone and Eurydice's facial expressions :) Nice work! EDIT: I almost forgot those AMAZING transitions and I am ashamed at that. They were GORGEOUS and SO WELL THOUGHT OUT!
I love how you've made it very expressive with a lot of hand movements!! and those transitions between Upperworld and Underworld through winds and other objects are very good! and your Eurydice is so pretty omg I love her thanks for the animatic!
Gosh this is really good! I adore the transitions and the movements!! The movements especially with the hands are great. I feel like you really captured the conflicts both relationships are going through
I’m trying to learn the trombone part, the thing is dad says it’s either 6/4 or 6/8, and I’m haven’t learned that and neither has my dad. I tried writing sheet music for that part.
eurydice: we need food and shelter
orpheus: wanna hear a song
Orpheus: LAAAALAAALAA
whey didn't he just sing that at like a tomato vine....like.....one plant can be grown......just like spend a couple hours, they would have food.
Eurydice was the one who told him he needed to finish the song lmfao

Sounds legit
Its a nice idea, but at this point I highly doubt that therapy could do anything for Hera and Zeus.

Blank-eyed people at the beginning remind of zombies. Kind of perfect for the land of the dead... even if it isn't exactly that in this adaptation
Is Hadestown based in New Orleans?
Because I'm kind of getting that vibe from the clothes and music.
Diana Hague yeah, the creative team derived a lot of the set and costume inspiration from new orleans theme and it looks so cool!
Well they're both rings of hell so....

Id give it more of a Southern industrial city some time around the 1930s great depression era of the U.S
The tranSITIONS
Exactly!
Sleeves might help with the wind, sweetheart.
I gave it thought. I was say why she didn’t but I like this joke to much XD
Haha omg ur profile picture
In the live show Euridice is wearing a jacket, it was stolen from her
Sleeves?! In this economy?!
She can't afford new clothes
2:46 I don't really think of Hades as angry in this song. More like part exasperated, part Smug Snake
Jonee Lillard obsessed
a crisis: *exists*
orpheus: hey, wanna hear a song?
I love how when Hades sings the songs gets more industrial with more Machine sounds

GREAT animatic, Eurydice looks great and so does everyone else, you have a really good vision for the show, and I encourage you to keep going :)
I'm in love with this omg. The details in the faces and the actions of all the characters,, it's beautiful
I feel so blessed to have been able to find the story of Orpheus and Eurydice threw this musical, an absolutely gorgeous tail it is. 🌹
This is one of my absolute favourite Hadestown animatics WOW I literally have been watching it on REPEAT
This song is literally the best way to spend 5 minutes of my life
God, Persephone’s expressions are so well done. I love your art
this is very well done! there's so much emotion in your drawingssss
Love the imagery and the transitions!!!
Eurydice: “I’m cold and hungry.” Girl no shit you cold, you’re wearing a crop top and a skirt
I love the transition from above to below and back with the guitar and how it blends into the stacks of wood! Awesome job!
Hades-Slytherin
Persephone-hufflepuff
I'm proud to have Persephone in my Hogwarts house.
I find Persephone to fit in the gryffindor house more but hufflepuff fits too
accurate
Someone's who's name means bringer of death and chaos would obviously belong to either slytherin or gryffindor.
This is a very different eurydice, and in many ways less tragic because its aware of 21st century ethics
Gosh this is really good! I adore the transitions and the movements!! The movements especially with the hands are great. I feel like you really captured the conflicts both relationships are going through
HADES BUILD A FOUNDRY FOR ME

Well, some people in my family get mad at songs like this so....

Your religion shouldn’t stop you from learning about other religions and culture, if you enjoy it ya might as well do it😊❤️
