It's ironic that a genre of music called depressive suicidal black metal has made me feel more alive than ever.
It's because we feel understood when we feel are not alone in how we feel.
Thats right. I feel the Same ...
Exact the same here. You might also like Coldworld and Mesarthim for the same reason.
In fact, there is so much beauty in depressive black metal, that the purpose of this music is to make realize to the people that depression isn 't a way. All that rest is beauty. Depressive black metal want to create a sens in the life of everyday people.

If this shit ain't medicine then I don't know what is.
Been a favorite since release. Amazing album!
Man....when Black Metal is done right, there's nothing like it.
since i was young boy i often despised many things that people called right, and i grateful inner self for it, cuz so much things that people called right contains so much shit and attract miseries but people continue lead them because stupid social organism can't be wise and keep support label "right" for those
I've never said this before, and I don't say it lightly: this album might have saved my life. When I was at my deepest, darkest place, I listened to this on repeat. It almost hurts to listen to now. This is one of the greatest albums ever written.
Same, brother in music, same
You and I, brother.
I'm just coming back after it kind of clicked for me again. When I last listened to this I was in a similar place. Now I'm 10+ years sober and I'm able to help people make change in their life. This absolutely is an incredible record.
Glad you're still with us, brother! \m/
im proud of you guys
There will never be another album like this. Absolutely unique.
of coure not why would anybody need to exactly the same albums there will only be simillar better ones
@@gazmanlp1299 your point is that not everyone should make another album like this. Thats right, but you're wrong. Theres hundreds, if not, thousands of albums that sound like this one. My point was that this is the best of the best IMO and there will not be another one like this that stands out from the rest.
@@n.a31214 that's how I feel with all Gris and Austere albums. Don't get me wrong this one is amazing but Gris is the top dsbm band in my opinion
Of course. As the Stars is also a flawless album, but it doesn't top Torn Beyond Reason
@@eliasjimenez8866 Yeah, as the Stars is so amazing but it’s a different style, it’s more atmospheric BM and not so much DSBM as Torn Beyond Reason
I could listen to this everyday for the rest of my life - it is so good and Im upset that nobody in my life would agree or understand just how good this is
This feels like that one sunny day in a long cold winter that gives you hope that spring will eventually come some day
Once heard, this will never leave your veins.
here i am 10 years later still listening to this masterpiece
Not only You:)
You're not alone guys🤘😭
indeed, i am as well and will continue to listen to it even 10 years from now !
one of my all-time favorites
🤘🏻🤘🏻!!
2024
This sounds so triumphant and victorious that it's hard to reconcile it being DSBM. It's absolutely gorgeous.
You are so right. It's absolutely brilliant for black metal and I love the album so much I can cry to it. It's so melancholic it hurts in a good way.
That's because it isn't DSBM, it's Black Gaze.
this sound like Telemann imo
@@EbolaAioli 🤦did you even heard any BLACKGAZE like alcest or sylvaine. 🤨 Also BLACKGAZE has no depressive melodies or song topics. And Woods of desolation hasn't any post rock/metal influences.😤
@@bonechrusher9749 I can't speak to WoD's musical influences, but DSBM has dissonant, minor chord progressions. WoD has a mostly uplifting compositional structure in major keys giving the music a bright, optimistic tone. The overall tone of the composition is very dissimilar to the typical dissonant characteristics of DSBM.
Good news, they released a new album later this year!! (2022)
THE best DSBM Album of all time
Indeed!
Seriously, this album is a truly underrated piece of art, it is not possible.
This is seriously one of the most depressingly uplifting albums I've ever heard. Alway come back to it.
My soul gets rest I feel free whenevr i listen this band .. 😢😢you guys are my soulmate
There is so much beauty in depressive black metal, that the purpose of this music is to make realize to the people that depression isn 't a way. All that rest is beauty. Depressive black metal want to create a sens in the life of everyday people.
what you said may sound corny, but I think you're right. A lot of depressive/suicidal black metal actually seems to be a perfect vent for actually harmful feelings, I think it's helpful, as well.
This is exactly how I feel as well - great thoughts.
One of my absolute favourite album. I keep coming back after all these years.
God this is an INSANE album.
some of the best black metal albums ever. the last track is the best.
My all time fav album 😢🤟🏻 absolute masterpiece ever and ever, love it with my soul
This just may be the best album ever made. I keep coming back to it over and over again. What a beautiful, moving, amazing piece of work!
I've easily listened to this whole album two dozen times over.
Some random on facebook recommended this album to me about 6 years ago. Best music discovery ever for me
If you want great Black Metal, then try Thy light.
Awesome band.
@@metalheadindian9174 I will check it out! Thank you! Mgla is another one for me but I’m sure you’ve heard of them :-)
@@metalheadindian9174 Thy Light is very good! I'm fan now!
@@deadguysuperstar Thy light are awesome. Pure beautiful music with endless emotion.
Also,try Dissection.They are absolutely phenomenal.
If you haven't heard Dissection, listen to these awesome songs-
1)Maha Kali.
2)Where Dead Angels lie.
3)The Somberlain.
4)Dark Mother Divine.
Dissection are the greatest Black Metal band along with Bathory.
What a vibes…
I wish i had friends or anyone in real life, online, who could have the same taste as me in music and other stuff
Same
go to the gym and get a big tiddy goth gf
Ordered the album yesterday.
I appreciate this channel a lot for always linking pages of bands to get their merch.
Cheers from Amsterdam! 👌🏻🤘🏻
You should give Austere a listen too, Ed. This Dreadful Emptiness in particular is a song I believe you're going to really like if you're now into this kind of stuff.
@@Redhairedviking09 Just for a momento too...!
The Music of Woods of Desolation is somehow like a blanket of sound that i can wrap myself in whenever im sad or need to feel consoled. It always calms me down, makes me dream and makes me able to forget everything around me.
Thank u for your amazing work. Your Music means a lot to me.
I wanted to say exactly the same .😭😭
Same here. I am about to graduate high school and I’m starting to get major nostalgia trips. It gets me pretty sad and this music definitely helps me.
Same. This music comes from an other world. It's just too powerful. 😭❤
Agree with you friend, WOD are perfect, they are like a heal for the soul... Eternal hails for they lml
Preach 🙏🏻
Parts of Darker Days still give me goosebumps.
My favorite 7:37 - 8:36
And that scream is so meaningful and deep...
How many times has this album saved me?
Masterpiece
Intense in every second.
Bathe your soul in this and watch the night come alive in all its nocturnal and majestic splendor.
What a stunning release! Those riffs are so uplifting yet sorrowful. Absolutely gorgeous album
Wow this is amazing..
Australia has some of the best black metal bands; just got to know Advent Sorrow recently
Cheers from Syria \m/
18:31 _The Inevitable End..._ ♥
Years later, every notes breathes.
This is fucking amazing
The main riff throughout The Inevitable End is so good, my favourite song on the album for sure
wow, very good album! Just listened for the first! For sure I"ll come to listem more of it
This is literally my all time favorite album.
Woods of desolation and woods of Ypres are all I need in life 🤘
Probably got me into BM more than anything else.
The best Band favorit Woods of Desolation
One of my dearest black metal gems. I hold this album close to Murmuure
Damn this is a masterpiece
Amazing - love the clean singing parts. Reminds me of a heavier Alcest.
YES OMG
One of the best albums I know.
Glorious. Vinterland is one of my all time favourite bands and this started playing after them.......great stuff.
... if listening this album is the all what I did in life, it's enough..
My Band favorit Woods of Desolation
WoD and Veldes are two Bands that never disappoint in the utterly beauty of their riffs and melodies.
WoD, Veldes and Skyforest never dissapoint
Came here for Darker Days, discovered everything...
I don't know if they were trying to make the best black metal album but that's what this possibly might be.
it feels like every song is better than the next
apparently the last one is the best,im soo excited to get there
THAT WAS EPIC
@@comeoveragain i been in the night raisin up the deaddd
do not fuck with me get some reverence
Amazing find; the title track and The Inevitable End is godly. Thanks a bunch, mate!
Aussie's Metal always seems to impress me no matter what. I'm not very keen on modern metal production (esp, extreme metal), but it's so satisfying to listen to something of this magnitude after having struggled to find music that aligns with my taste.
Life changer album.
Awesome Masterpiece !!! 🤘
Somehow..
Greetings from the Czech Republic. Satan am I only hearing this album today, but it's excellent, beautiful.
This album reminds me of Austere which is also Australian. Absolutely brilliant work. Thank you black metal promotions 🤘
so it is, a man from Austere worked on the album, and it sounds like an Austere album
@@user-zj1zb5oy8j what is the name of that man?
@@mynameislove1704 sorrow and desolate played in both groups
@@mynameislove1704 Tim and Mitchel seem to be
@@user-zj1zb5oy8j I really love this album bro, maybe one of my favorite black metal albums of all time
Eins der besten Black Metal Alben überhaupt! Grüße aus Europa aus Deutschland. 🤘🤘🤘
By far my favourite album.
First song makes me cry
Yes. It's making me tear up at work.
I think people really underestimate how beautiful black metal can be.
Dude, seriously... it's really fucking sad, I know.
🤗
Every song makes me cry
Masterpiece
I remember some years ago checking the comment sections of DSBM albums and seeing people who lost hope and who were really depressed. I'm so glad to see that the majority are now well and live a beautiful life. Many of us also are keen on memes so that makes sense :))
Beautiful life, there's no such thing.
i hope that one day we get to witness a new release ! not that you can get annoyed with their old stuff .
Zajìmací BM.
Nádherně promìchaný klávesy, emoce a brutální vokály. Má to zvláštní atmosféru. Perfektní poslechovka!
🤘❗👿👍🍺
😁
I managed to snag an unopened copy of the original 99 copy clear pressing a few months ago. I cherish it. This is definitely my favorite ABM album.
I really like the post-rock part. Works well with the whole album. Very nice surprise.
Спустя столько лет? Всегда.
Też non stop wracam fenomenalna muzyka ❤️
Knock, knock! It's high time a new WoD album should come out! :)
wow, the vocals in the ending of "somehow..." are shattering, decent work!
This album is one of the best album so far
Бальзам на душу. Шедевр на все времена!!!!
Cold and powerful, that's all we like. Thank you for posting this masterpiece.
Buenisimo , sin palabras , perfecta calidad , perfecta atmósfera
Every song a masterpiece on it's own
Un album profond, noir, mélodique, une excellente écoute.
Thanks, it's a masterpiece.
Obra maestra, ojalá los pudiéramos ver en vivo , saludos desde México a toda la banda que sigue a estos carnales !!!!
Um dos melhores albuns de black metal de todos os tempos!
One of the best albums
Sematary Graveman sent me here. Love it!
Beautiful album
Fucking Hell, this like my 16th listen through since being told about this band. It's now in like a permanent rotation with Carcass - Heartwork, Khemmis - The Hunted, Geoncide Pact -Order of Torment and Gojira Way of All Flesh and Pantera -Far Beyond Driven and just as many punk albums. I like the other two albums but this one has that like everything clicked for them feel. The riffs are beautiful the drum sound really grew on me and its a masterpeice.
Never heard this before. Fkkin awesome
Hearing this evokes the spirits that call to me in the realm of depression. Ended feeling positive.
Absolute fucking masterpiece of a record.
love at first listening!! 🤘🖤🤘
Sematary is legend for sampling this album
