My first time ever crowdsurfing over people was during Dimmu Borgir live set at Sziget festival 2012. I have great memories of that day.
Definitely one the best black metal albums of All time
This album reminds me of when i was a teen.garbbing my bike and listening to it on my cd player full blast.going around the neighborhood headbangin riding my bike.
That doesn't sound very safe.
@@azathoth9206 sure was fukin fun
Same here, dude... Good old times..
@@azathoth9206 hail!
@@azathoth9206 LOL.
First metal album I ever heard back in the day. Timeless album.
just got into black metal, but for some reason i fucking love it. This is the first album i heard. Such a sick band.
Miss that old school Black metal vibes and riffs , DimmuBorgir Rules 🤘🤘🤘🤘
the only reason against this version is the lack of old black vibes, remaster/rerecord killed it :(
@@zoltanlaszloturoczy6935 indeed bro
Annnmnd they included a track list in description!!! There is hope left in the world.
And when all hope is eventually lost, there will still probably be Google 😁😆
But, honestly, thank you for pointing that out. I never knew you could press the down arrow and get more information. 🖤
One of the best black metal album. Old or new decide by yourself. Thanks dimmu for stormblast
both for me
a master piece OF ANY GENDER, simply a master piece of music
and the original, not this remastered
Unimaginably beautiful, along with Sear Bliss.. when I die soon, I want to pass away while I listen to intensely beautiful art work like this, Sear Bliss's Forsaken Symphony and early Dimmu Borgir... I want to gaze up at the night sky and paint the stars with my warm blood as I hold on tight to my White Jackson RR24 preparing for the birth of eternity.. far beyond sorrow, far beyond beauty.. and words have lost all meaning... Mettle till the bitter end... With love and bloody kisses, Sen
I love them from their first to their last record. Such an amazing band and still my fav. Hail Dimmu!!!
hell yea!
Broderskapets Ring in this version is probably my favorite Dimmu song of all time!
Blue Winter
I totally agree with You , the 2005 version Rules !!!
I also love and prefer the 2005 version of
*Vinder Fra En Ensom Grav*
The Entire 2005 version of the album Superior in sound and atmosphere
Is one of my favorite Black Metal Albums of All time!!!
STORMBLAST!!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🤘🎸🎸 one my favs
One of the best band ever.... Love their music 🤘🤘🤘
Broder skapets Ring always hit different 😌 got me through some cold lonely days
That song also has some really cold, heartwrenching lines like the one at around 6:36 "Minner om kjærlighet" which translates to "Memories of love".
As a Norwegian speaking person I personally even have a hard time telling what was being said but that one sticks out like a sore thumb with its meaning and delivery.
What the sickest thing on it is they recorded it so coldblood and unmaked up as well while they were young.and done now again as more energic and showable for people find it more beauty.they acted like old people while they were young and now acting like younger while they are older.Amazing
travelling through time backward
I don't care if it's not as trv and kvlt as the original one, this album sounds bloody great!
Sounds better
Hellhammer In drums.
Tjodalv was legend! 🤘🤘
Hellhammer on drums + it doesn't sound like it was recorded through a tube + that guitar tone is monstrous.
When people bitch about overproduction, this version is more distorted than the original!
Quarantine and Stormblast anyone?
Fuck yeah.
@@lightfgd why is every Portuguese called Silva?
Quarantine is for sheep that listen to the gov? Self isolation is good when you do it on your own though. Gov shouldn't be telling you what to do, especially when they fabricate lies. They create a problem and offer a solution to 'help,' us but it just ends up enslaving us more. Watch out for all the propaganda coming out and follow the money, who's making money out of this? Big Pharma maybe? yeah...

Hell of an album!
brings back all the old memories with it, blast from the past, hellhammer is god
Best album I ever heard, I was a teenager back then and bought this on cassette lol. I feel old now
one of the best albums
Exactly what I needed to hear midsummer under the burning sun
what a masterpiece, old dimmu compositions with better and cleaner sound quality and atmosphere, my favorite album from the band.
I'm glad I'm not the only one saying this.
I disagree, this is a mockery of the original, and pointless 👎
@@hadesdescent6664 Why?
@@hadesdescent6664 Tbh it's not that bad, Under The Sign Of Hell 2011 is even worse than this imho
@@ciornyjvoron971 I know, you are correct. I don't blame Stian for what he did, it fits perfectly in the original! Also I listen Dimmu from 1996 not from 2005/06! I just recently give it a try for Stormblast MMV, never before listening it and never (probably) will again; only Original one 🤘
One of their best
Love this album , definitely an influence for my band's songs
I just sent this to the rockband 4 song request page. There is about a 60% chance they will see it and a 40% chance it will be for sale as a dlc in the game
Thanks for finally having this up and in full quality! /m/ I'm so happy!
This is the only re recorded album, that's worth a shit. This a masterpiece.
I miss the keyboard intro, but that scream being too early in the begining fucks me up more than anything.
keyboard intro was the music from Magnum, Sacred Hour, plagiarism...This is ONE of the problems that made this album be fully re-recorded. .(
@@FlavioRenatoEghonwhat’s this about the album being re-recorded? I’ve not heard this before. I did always wonder why this sounds so much more modern despite being their 2nd album.
@@Gumbo72203 Yes. First version was released in 1996 and the was completely re-recorded with the new line-up in 2005. Search for Stormblåst MMV
I had the original Stormblåst album on CD (had to order it from Century Media back in the day) but I almost like this version more. Hellhammer adds volumes (no pun intended) to it, and there's still plenty of atmosphere. When I listen to this album I alternate between versions.
I forgot how much I like this album. It never got the attention it deserved. And Hellhammer was a great addition for it, I know everyone loves Nick Barker but HH did good here.
What a powerful sound!
Hearing this album for the first time. This is serious material!
TB very honest i didnt enjoyed this álbum when it was released, i thought the clean production ruined all that atmosphere of the original stormblåst but now my opinion is quite different cuz with the more clean production i can hear those amazing riffs by Silenoz, but i still think the original is better!
and which riffs you did not especially hear in the original version, what songs for example?
I love the guitar tone on this album
It's that classic Abyss Studio guitar sound.
Peter Tagtgren behind the production desk.
Avmaktslave is a total masterpiece
Used to play Elder Scrolls Oblivion with this cd on
Awesome
Darkthrone under a funeral moon for me!
I remember i could play my mp3 on the 360 i used to listen a lot of death metal while playing fps games
oblivion is my favourite of the elderscrolls. thumbs up.
I remember Dimmu caught a lot of flak for re-recording this. With the passage of time that debate seems quite trivial. As a guy now in his 40s I am way more sympathetic to their financial considerations. All this notwithstanding, the album is actually pretty cool. It has an epic quality which is notably absent in the original. I dig the iciness of that mid-2000s production.
easily their best release.
Love this album
I must say this is pretty awesome and I got to start somewhere I guess.

One of my Favorite album
Heil Dimmu Borgir 😈🔥🤘
Great album, good thing they remake it
Best black metal by far...
Broderskapets Ring always my favourite.. For All Tid and Stormblast are the best ever came out from DB..
I was 17 when first time listened to this album
Good old Norwegian metal. Great for cold snowy Minnesota backroad drives.
Same here in Nebraska!
This is awesome!
very well produced work, with an excellent drummer giving a more complete touch than the first version, it is obvious because hellhammer is a more complete drummer than tjodalv, not taking away the merit and brilliance of this last one as an original member. but this album doesn't give me the same vibe as the original version, just highlighting what I mentioned about hellhammer's work.
im amazed so good.
Hellhammer on drums & Peter "Penis" Tägtgren engineering n mixing
Fucking nice
I am and old fan and I prefer this one over the original. The great drum work is the thing I recall first about this recording.
Cuando Dimmu Borgir era Dimmu Borgir. :') que tiempos .
Que ironía que yo pienso eso cuando escucho solamente los 4 primeros álbum xD
Atmosfera negra e cortante, nuvens, niilismo, frieza, dor, morte e desespero!! Grande clássico!!
🖤
@cod sniper hhheh
I whould like more rerecording like this...
Everyone crapped on this re release when it came out. LOOK WHOS COME CRAWLING BACK
Haillllllll Atmospheric ,Sinister ...Devilllll hail Dimmu Borgir 😈
I was about 11yo as i got this cd, which was the first BM album i purchased. I still remember the rejection on my mother's face. Which was always a sign for good music. :D This was one hell of a vacation on the farmyard! I like both versions. But I personally associate more with this one.\m/
Great album!
So good!
fantastic re-recording of the original
Thank
You

Anyone else actually sing along to some of these songs? XD
I'd love to get my own band together if I could.
Hell yea, that’s why they laugh at me when I go thru the Wendy’s drive thru
Konkretnie 🔥🔥🤘🔥🔥👍
That was my Top Album when i was 16
I still don't understand why the label cant upload the original Stormblast on the channel
This version is alot more polished, more vibrant and ambient than the original.. basically far better production. Its like having a nice motorbike caped is sh1t and mud to a nice motorbike clean and shiny.. what would you rather have?. Good reason why the band remastered it
Some parts remind me of Bathory, which Shagrath said was one of his first influences.
Man, I had this on CD and I also had their enthrone darkness triumphant
best album in history
I think it might be one of their best 3 or 4 albums... but either way.... I'm especially intrigued you still could be correct
@@rustygribble5309 My favourite from them is "For All Tid". That album is just beautiful. And lots of variety within its track list. I also love the bass tone they used.
Brutal 🤘🤘🤘
The songs of Dimmu Borgir are the music of my tenebrous and twisted black soul.
I got "In Sorte Diaboli" tattooed on my arm for this reason.
cringe comment...
u need to grow
Money sucks, Borgir is GOOD!
UNEXPECTED COMMENT. First, the lyrics are in norwegian which adds to the feeling (cause is such a "harsh" language) and also the rest of us that dont speak norwegian we cant understand the lyrics so we AVOID the stupidity about satanism, antireligion etc MERCH thing that black metal bands sell to the masses (whoever STILL thinks that all these dudes in these bands worship satan, he must return back to early 90s when it was a hype thing). Second, this record is way underated in the genre of majestic b.m. Almost all the songs are awesome, cause none of them is same, a variety in notes and atmospheres. Great work.
J'aime la première version plus que celle-ci !!!!
Når sjelen hentes til helvete. 🤘🤘🍺🍺💀💀
muy buen album... la evolucion del black
One of the really black albums of DB
Buenísimo álbum lo mejor junto el for all tid y el enthroned quando aún eran una banda de true norwayn black metal
Silenoz sang on original Stormblåst, Shagrath did backing vox, right? On this album they switched parts or is Silenoz doing any vocals?
Sort the comments by date and read one that I left about a year ago, there are several songs that I think silenoz sang in this version.
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
otimo album. muito bem trabalhado
Es una de mejores bandas nórdicas por excelencia
🖤
Bought this around 5th grade in 2005 or 2006 at a local drugstore (yeah, they sold music for some reason). Still occasionally revisit it because it's so good.
!!!!!!🖤!!!!!!
Just as fuckin brilliant as the original.
Although I think Hellhammer is an amazing drummer, they should've let Tjodalv play the drums on this re-release to get some of the old vibe!
Tjodalv refused to rejoin the band after Barker left.
The first track is screwed with new sound.
I love both versions I don't give a fuck. I just wish the original intro was in this one. But I understand copyright issues
This is their best album IMO. This version specifically
Was just thinking the exact same thing the last night, after 100s of listens to each album. You have that raw mixture of ancient songs from their Genesis, coupled with their production expertise in the studio
This band had two cool drummers. Nicholas Barker and Hellhammer. And this album is my favorite from Borgir, which is not a hit track! The reissue came out cool
I quite enjoyed the re-release when it came out in '05. The songs are still good, but I can't say I'm a fan of their super-sterile production style anymore. It definitely has a kind of mid-2000s flavour to it, though.
The new MMV version is just better on production quality, but the essence is there on the old 1996 one.
.
Fun(ny) facts about the original (source: Metal Archives):
+ "Sorgens kammer" was a stolen melody, from a song from an Amiga game called Agony. Stian Aarstad stole it without telling fellow band members, who always thought it was theirs, until the original composer contacted them, so it wasn't used on this version: "Stormblåst MMV".
+ The piano intro of "Alt lys er svunnet hen" was stolen from the Magnum song "Sacred Hour," [Chase the Dragonalbum, 1982].
+ The intro to "Guds fortapelse - åpenbaring av dommedag" is from Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 ("From the New World").
Naughty Dimmu...
I like it
