The good thing about ring of pain that we can se in this video is even though you are being subjective, there are almost no trash itens (not including intentional bad itens like spoon or tiny crown) and enough good itens to make the game blanced and not make you only pick one thing every run.
This couldn't be more true! Since starting some of these tier lists I have noticed that there tend to be an even spread of better and worse items in each rarity. This is an issue I often run into with roguelikes being that they will have an "optimal" way to play that blows away most other styles. Since putting in some more time recently on RoP, it's amazed just how viable a lot of different items are!
Very nice tierlist and video as always! I would put grappling mantle in A or S but I am very much biased cause I love me some ensnare. Also, unrelated to this video but I am glad to see you more active on the discord server :)
That's fair! When it's working it's certainly amazing! Yeah I like spending more time there now as it's generally pretty positive. It's a nice little bubble to interact with people separate from all other social outlets!
I do find it a bit weird that in Ritual Garment, Onion Suit and Extra Onion Suit the passive says "Deal x damage..." as if it's dealing normal mitigateble damage, yet if it works the same as soul damage which is un-mitigateble why not change the passive to say "Deal x soul damage..." instead 🤷🏻♂️.
I agree, if I had to guess, it's probably one of those "old items that kind of just got lost over time" type deals. I suppose I could see it being intentional as to now allow soul damage items to proc off them but it certainly does leave them in a weird limbo. Unrelated but do you remember the damage type that was removed from the game a few years ago? I have a vague memory of a pale yellowish damage, maybe "light damage"? Now I gotta research it XD
I have seen some questionable stat lines that made me wonder XD I haven't used cheat engine on anything since after beating Plants vs Zombies like 10ish years ago to see what kind of crazy stuff you could do in the endless mode. Never been very interested in cheating in games as I enjoy trying to find ways to "break" games with all their available mechanics
Things like this can be a huge help. Especially with how complex this game is.
