I've played this on my phone for so long. It's SO fun, and the cast are really charming and cool. I hope this gets even a short little series. A few parts to show some paths. Extra characters. Thank you for checking this out, Reto. I honestly fangirl flailed. Hehe.
FINALLY someone who actually has commentary is covering/potentially long playing this game. Been playing it on mobile since it was in beta and I've been enjoying it since. I would definitely watch you play this if it's not clear 😉
There are 20 difficulty levels ;). When you finish your run, you can select your difficulty level by pressing red orb at the bottom on the campaign screen.
In my opinion the recylcling of the terms and the looks are actually good things! Making this game easy to learn even though it has a lot of new things from games like Slay the Spire or Monster train, etc.
Honestly I think this look better than Slay the Spire and it feels like it has more build diversity seeing how you can just swap cards very easily. I'm really thinking about buying it.
I played this game on my phone, it was really good, but since it was a free version few heroes were available, maybe I should buy it .. once I finished most of the game I want to
Oh i wonder if this would pop up. For a Mobile games its got a surprising amount of polish. Its abit annoying that theres a content(Paywall DLC) but regardless. Its not bad. Reto, i recommend you look up Dungeon maker. Theres a Roguelite element to that game that makes ur headspin 🤣
I should say that even if this game look like Slay The Spire it is completely different game in the same time. Nowadays people compare any MMO with WoW and any Roguelike Deckbuilder game with Slay The Spire with wrong intention. I mean we cant say THEY COPPY this and this game... But anyway this game is amazing Ty @Retromation for the review :)
Thanks. This could be the next big Slay the Spire -especially since it is on Android! Once you feel swipes on your tablet, mouse - even keyboard - feels so less elegant. I'm scared that this could be great - StS is dangerously addictive. * More coverage please, answering the questions you had along the way (or add Klingon subtitles). Love the honest no BS stream of consciousness as you play. Developer should pay you for user testing :-)
I've played Slay the Spire but I think this is really different enough to be its own thing. Ive actually been waiting for a deck builder game where we can customize our cards like that since Ive seen Inscryption, so Im really interested in this one!
Also yes, the talent tree is randomized every run and every character has their own character story you can play through to unlock different starter talents and cards. This is a separate mode in addition to the standard StS mode.
It's okay to like the design, but I would prefer if the only representation of women in the game were not all oversexualized (especially since all the women have the same body type).
FInally a card game where they don't hide 2/3 of the cards in the bottom of the screen. Most other card games only let you see the cost and 30% of the artwork on the card when not hover on it.
Thx for this this looks like it would be really fun so ill be getting this and the other one teamfight management both I would have missed out on this looks better then slay the spire has so much more playability.
I feel like the title font may need a little rework. My brain interpreted the first letter as a negative space U instead of a positive space I. Wondered what kind of a game "Undies Lies" would be....
I love this game but its not anyway more similar to STS than a lot of Roguelike Deckbuilders. Even though it's a good game Castle Morihisa for example is justlike an Oriental mod of STS. Personally I say more the merrier
Might be worth updating this video... recently mostly just mixed/negative reviews of this game. It's kind of mislearding on the characters, really all the mages, gunmen, and melee champs are the same with the same sets of cards for the most part, but a different power. Just seems a bit misleading.
“Why change a term that’s become really universal…” EXACTLY! I hate these games that feel like they need to invent entirely new terms for their mechanics. Played a few and it’s like “oh, this is literally just exhaust. Oh, this is literally just innate.” I don’t know if they’re worried about getting sued or if they’re worried about being called a clone game. It’s totally fine to take the base Slay the Spire gameplay loop and then make an entirely new series of systems. The map function is entirely different, there’s I guess a team you can build? and just other things that make the gameplay stand out which is good.
Theres pc version of it? I play this in phone but only mage unlockable for free so as soon as i done by heir story i got bored, their story is nice tho
I'm a big fan of iterative design. I mean, the Downfall folks made more content for StS than the original game, and they get nothing. If someone wanted to make an actual StS ripoff, and it was good, I'd want to buy it.
That game is hilarious. Just due to how ridiculous some of those female characters were (take the shopkeepers animation). I certainly hope it was consciously satirical from the study
The game looks great from what you showed. As far as the wording on card, while I am sure that can be tweaked, I remember a lot of people getting confused by the wording on slay the spire the first time they were playing it as well. My only critique, which is enough to probably prevent me from buying, is that they seemed to have accidentally hired a 14 year old character artist.
I've played this on mobile and the whole in-app purchases killed this for me on mobile, but if everything is unlocked from the start, maybe i'll give it another chance.
@@heroprime7599 I think that makes it worse, that is not what women in the real world look like. I think video games and other media only showing one type (one exaggerated type) of women skews the player's perception of who women are, Autonomous full humans who are not around for your pleasure. I'm a bi guy so I can see myself burrowing in to the beard of the blacksmith npc but there is a range of appearances that the male characters have, while the women all have pretty much the same features with slightly different costumes, it is weird.
@@ZamWeazle Sure it is not our world, but when most of the fantasy worlds presented to us in games (or other media) presents women's bodies and specifically their assumed sexual appeal toward straight men as one of the most important aspects of their design, I think the industry is reinforcing misogynistic views. There is totally room for women to be portrayed as sexy and for men to be as well, but it is so often the case that women don't get the choice. And from a business perspective, why only appeal to the male fantasy if you have a solid game, stuff like this pushes the idea that games are not made for women and so it is harder to for women to get into it.
@@bloopez I don't disagree with your post. If this was a proper graphical rpg or anime style game I would agree. Ultimately as I said before it's just a card game and after about 20 mins one usually tends to completely forget the aesthetics or artstyle of a deckbuilder as the gameplay mechanics are all that really matters. Well at least to me and many others that I've spoken with. 👍

How many cards a character can use?
Deck building or card game has more than 300 per character

Yes it's a lot more diverse from StS.
I'd be happy to see more of this.
I got real into this on mobile for a bit and thought about suggesting it, glad to see you covering it!
I'd definitely be down to watch some more, it looks to have a good amount of variety so far.
21:58 "Whyyy? Why?" Lol
The battles remind me of Griftlands, and that's a good thing, that's a fantastic game aswell

My favorite slay the spire type clone. I always feel super powerful though. I play it on my mobile phone for free and there is an option of DLC.
Would love a series of this!!!
So another video please this is good content lol and keep up the good work

If there was no paywall there would probably be a ton of ads so I don't mind paying like what? $6 for all the dlc. They need to make money somehow.

I can see you playing this for six months or more.
Thanks!
Seems like a very interesting game with different takes on some aspects.
Please make this a series :D
At about 16:00 when you got that buff - It wasn't combo, it was your Blade talent

This game is out now and has an expansion/dlc out too. Playing it now, pretty good Dreamquest variant.
That rune word bit got me good.

This game deserves at least one more run or at least one run of each hero
Series would be awesome
Erannorth Chronicles - the end all deckbuilder
i've just got this game yesterday, even chose the same guy for the first run
This is how slay the spire should have looked like
I know it was made by a small studio but god it looks so subpar
I’m happy to see more
What to they mean with finish this "area" at 5 Taint ? I dont get what i am supposed to do in this quest

i have this on my tablet. if it were only fully offline it would be perfect. but its great for what it is.
It is offline unless when it needs to be online 😉
i tried the free version on mobile and i was really hooked
