2:55 to the end is just amazing. It's one of my favorite parts of any DGD song I have ever heard. It makes me so happy each time it plays. I just feeling like dancing along.
I'll be honest, i didn't care for this song at first. But boy oh boy did it grow on me and now i think it's my favorite off the album. Got me gettin all sentimental over here.
Rip to Tim. May he rest in peace. He is on the mothership laying down a sick baseline for our animated friend the robot. This literally brings sadness to my heart
pjNFAMOUS The way I see it is that Thread ties everything together. So Tilians words connects all the instrumental aspects together. Fire I think shows the passion and enthusiasm because Jon certainly does that with his screaming. Pulse however is kinda weird. I guess when you check the pulse of someone it's to see whether they are alive. On the other hand it helps you see how fast the blood in a person's body is moving. So the pulse could be implying that so long as Will is in the band, DGD will always exist? Or maybe his influence determines how a song is made as he does a lot of the writing for it? His is a bit strange
After my best friend died of cancer I had not processed my grief yet. I was listening to this album when it came out and this song came on while I was painting. It made me finally able to cry and start healing. I can't stop listening to this song ever since then.
This was the first DGD song I heard 4 years ago and i kept coming back because of the killer bouncy bass line at the end. RIP Tim , thank you for pulling me into your music
This is possibly the best Tilian-era DGD song I've heard. Really showcases everyone's talent, encaptures the vibe of the band, and most importantly sounds really really good. Love it.
“Come up in my closet imma get you fat Thats a chill initial feeling when I come right back” The man knew this section of the song was so fire it gives everyone chills
I'm usually not drawn to this type of music. But when it's well done like it is here, music is universal. I would never have thought that growls could go so well with pop vibes Very nice discovery
Jose Delira honestly I'm not sure, I just know that the average 22 minute episode of an animated series usually costs around 100-200k USD to make...no clue why tho aha.
The #1 thing I appreciate about DGD is that no matter how big they get, they don't sacrifice their signature sound to appeal to a more mainstream crowd. They do them. The instrumentals would fit in DTBM and Happiness. Love them so much
If I watch this at the same time as the Summertime Gladness video am I gonna find a map to secret treasure on the back of the Declaration of Independence or something?
Jake Singer every time I watch this while trying to understand it, I just remember the Rock Solid lyrics: “Then I took the key to my happiness and ran broke down running down the street thinking where the hell.. where the hell can I hide” As it seemed like guy in the wheelchair was trying to get away from something
in the past month and a half, dance gavin dance's new singles took me a second listen to love it, but this song, I fell in love with it right away, dance gavin dance can do no wrong!! they never fail to impress me with their new stuff
I played a show with these guys and I remember running around the mall in Stockton Ca selling pre sales and people where either like hell yes or who the hell is DGD. This was back when Kurt was singing and it ended up being a hell of a line up. So glad these guys are still going strong 💪
This has been my favourite band of this “genre” since their first ep. all versions of DGD are fucking perfect. It’s like an anthology for the last 10 years, I’m sure people can relate.
The more I listen to this song the more I'm falling in love with it. I'm also loving the feeling of all singles out, they're all so different. I'm excited for this album to be released, that's for sure.
Can we all agree on two things. 1. If you’ve heard the whole album Artificial Selection is legit a mix of Happiness and Mothership 2. This song is fucking amazing, and the ending is what makes this my favorite on the album as of right now.
I wasn't really a fan of dgd when tim passed but recently I really got into the band and there will never be anyone as good as tim, ever. Rest in peace man
Josh Stanton let's see what you think when they release "the rattler" I'm a huge Dgd fan and that one really wasn't to good, but it was kinda cool bc it sounds like secret band
Man they definitely had a different sound always... but never knew they could take it up a notch and make a song this catchy... that CHORUS is infectious... love it
gus my best friend and i were just talking about that. How each artist that’s fronted the band has brought their own influence... Jonny was the belting r&b soul. Kurt was the funk and jazz and tilian is the best of both worlds. After listening to evaporate at the end of the song there’s so subliminal lyrics lol. I hope they’re not done
I remember first hearing this song and seeing the video, I was like "This music video is weird I'll never listen to it again" 5 months later, here I am enjoying this. RIP TIM FEERICK
This band makes me feel a certain way almost like everything im missing is right here in a song and more importantly in a Band. Rip Tim F. The blood! 😫😢
I have a weird reaccuring dream where they end a live set with this track and as each member finishes their part at the end they jump into the crowd and get down. That's a good dream.
It is higher quality. I listened to the whole thing through twice. But I will be purchasing and streaming the shit out of the record so I don't feel too bad. Gonna be epic!
I thought it would be better to listen to the songs when they're officially released. That's why I'm not listening to the leaked ones. I feel like it takes away something special.
The ending of this song and Evaporate are just sooooo good. This would be a fun ending to hear in concert, just a blast to chant/sing with DGD. Can’t wait to see them on the 17th!
I swear, when I get back into work in my first pay month I'll get lyrics from this song written on my arm. Song help me through a really rough time with my anxiety after the worse break up and mental fuck up of my life... It's the least I can imagine doing.
“Oh my god DGD why did you have to do this yet again!!!!”Sense 2006 you guy have done nothing but come up with the most unique music sounds to come in a long time, you guy pioneered the post-hard-core scene the beginning, most groups today come from listening to you guys. Thank you for everything.

My favorite bass line from the band! RIP Tim Feerick.
I'll be honest, i didn't care for this song at first. But boy oh boy did it grow on me and now i think it's my favorite off the album.
Got me gettin all sentimental over here.
Don't get all sentimental about it
same with me.. absolutely.. I find myself singing it out of nowhere so many times.. and even the instrumentel version they released is perfect!
robert smith same. Didn’t care for it at first. Now it’s fire 🔥 which means it was 🔥 then too
Its strange how this happened with so many including myself.
@@georgevega9597 The sun comes up the rain goes down.
RIP TO THE ABSOLUTE LEGEND TIM FEERICK. 🖤
WE WILL MOSE THOSE TASTY BASELINES.
DGD NEVER BE THE SAME. 💔
I love the Summertime Gladness vibe the video gives off. Loving this album so far
Tyler Rapillo Right!!
SAME
Same director.
Makes sense!
Tyler Rapillo it makes me think of vampires and scary shit
Rip to Tim. May he rest in peace. He is on the mothership laying down a sick baseline for our animated friend the robot. This literally brings sadness to my heart
Who doesn’t believe in magic?
Cause this song is magical
Sirus Blenke I believe. I'm so ready for Friday. I need this entire album
Futaba is mine
* BADUM TSSS *
n0rthlane you are gonna love the rattler
Imagine how good the actual record will sound
Ya know, of all the DGD music videos I've seen.. I think this one takes the cake in the "What the Hell was that?" category.
10/10 would listen again
This Hits different now 😢 RIP Tim! Thank you!
Tim absolutely leaves his mark in every song, long live Tim
Will Swan: PULSE
Tim Feerick: BLOOD
Jon Mess: FIRE
Tillian Pearson: THREAD
Matt Mingus: LIFE
What do these mean?
Daniel it means DGD is the lifeblood of everything we know and cherish. No wonder they're so good.
Captyn Okay so that's LIFE and BLOOD but what about PULSE, FIRE, and THREAD?
pjNFAMOUS The way I see it is that Thread ties everything together. So Tilians words connects all the instrumental aspects together. So the pulse could be implying that so long as Will is in the band, DGD will always exist? Or maybe his influence determines how a song is made as he does a lot of the writing for it? His is a bit strange
Heart could also symbolize the beat or the rhythm of DGD
After my best friend died of cancer I had not processed my grief yet. I was listening to this album when it came out and this song came on while I was painting. It made me finally able to cry and start healing. I can't stop listening to this song ever since then.
God thats horrible. What a great song

Came back to hear Tim’s bass line in the end. Fucking devastated. Rest In Piece Tim Feerick.

Wow rip
Bro the fact it’s already been 2 years blows me away
Dance Gavin Dance is so magical!
Yup so i do believe in magic!
The way Jon screams “wristed” at 3:12 makes my blood curdle. it’s amazing.
This was the first DGD song I heard 4 years ago and i kept coming back because of the killer bouncy bass line at the end. RIP Tim , thank you for pulling me into your music
My best friend who passed 4 years ago put me on to DGD his name was Tim as well. RIP Tim
3:23 rip Tim. Listening to the end of this song will never be the same
Can't lie I cried the first time I heard this. Got all sentimental about it.

**3 seconds in** WHY IS EVERYTHING THEY DO SO GOOD
Arlin M that's this band described in one sentence.
literally three notes and tilian saying "so you"
Saaame. I said the same before the chorus hit, and the chorus is why i love this so damn much.
Raw som he is trying to mimic scream the sound of a Rattle anditsawesome 😂
DGD 4 LIFE
i can listen to that ending for the rest of my life
RIP Tim Feerick. This song is incredible and you hit every song so good. You are the original Count Bassy ❤️

STILL WAITING ON THAT ANIMATED VIDEO. I miss my boy the robot.......
Blaaah for real
Right? Animation is costly tho, I'm assuming that's the reason they haven't done more.
Ro7ard: they boutta be rich when the whole album drops
costly time wise i assume
Jose Delira honestly I'm not sure, I just know that the average 22 minute episode of an animated series usually costs around 100-200k USD to make...no clue why tho aha.
I swear I was having an anxiety crisis before I listened to the song. When I pressed play, this anxiety, this nervousness, went away!
I absolutely love it when Jon & Tilian’s parts combine! Tilian singing while Jon screams those same lyrics gets me every time!!!! ❤️my boys!!!
GODDD the guitar breakdown at like 2:53 ish still gets to me every time I listen to this song. It’s. Absolute. PERFECTION!
I didn't expect a new Filthy Frank lore video this year

How is every single song pure gold. What sorcery is this
