It’s such a smart idea to put your mic on your Apple Pencil!
Also, that shoulder and back stuff can be from drawing on the iPad. I had to see a chiropractor for it… muscle underuse and drawing flat like that is terrible and will mess up your neck.
Basically the table you’re drawing on should be up higher or your iPad should be higher (eye level) or you get tablet/military neck. The overuse of your shoulder and the strain on your neck is causing your body all of that pain. You need to be careful or you’ll wake up and won’t be able to move like I did.
OMG!!! ugh. not being able to move! that sounds awful 😭 the desk I have now is a little bit higher, but I definitely need to get a stand for my iPad!!

Hi heather, since you got monetised I have a suggestion for you.
Honestly your longer videos are just right for me, I like how I can relax and stick around watching in real time, and I catch up on your videos once in awhile but you always manage to upload before I can fully catch up. So firstly just wanted to say your pace is just right for me and possibly your other regular viewers.
So my suggestion if you want more first time viewers to stick around and subscribe is editing your videos to be a bit shorter. I understand if longer videos uploaded less frequently is your natural method, but we all know especially young folk these days have shorter and shorter attention spans and 30 mins might be a bit tough to stick around for. I suggest trying a shorter edit, 10 to 15 mins long seems common for UA-cam videos and easier to maintain attention to digest.
I am no expert in videography but I have some suggestions for you: make the music sequences shorter and maybe add a few more cuts to shorten the sequence but still show the general happenings. Also I think your longer drawing footage could be sped up by 2x possibly even 3x speed, and if you want the final few strokes can be normal speed. I probably wouldn’t speed up your other footage(walking dogs/outdoors) because it makes it feel artificial, but for drawing I think it works because it gives the impression more is happening on screen in less time.
Also what might be the most effective if struggling time wise, is separating your work/drawing and general activity videos. Even if they happen on the same timeline, separate videos will help condense the footage while still allowing you to keep that relaxed pace and general vibe. Don’t worry if the same timeline happens in two videos, I find I and most viewers can connect the dots (oh this is when Z happened because she mentioned X in the last video).
Maybe as a test, when you have the time you can make two Final cuts from the same footage. One 15 mins long and the other your usual 25 to 30 mins. And before uploading watch them both and upload the one you like more.

@@ummmheathershowjust finished watching your TABLE WITH ME! vlog and had to say something. it looked it so much was happening during filming for that blog, that I have to say it was moving at a good pace I was hooked and enjoying it a lot. I guess what I am trying to say is: long videos have their place! and not every video has to be 10 to 15 mins long.
At least in Table with me! I can’t imagine missing out on any of those moments you put into the video. It was a great video and also loved the outtakes you put in the end. 😊
