My 75 cdti occasionally refuses to fire up on ignition, I've checked fuel flow and it's fine, I'm stumped. Could it be injectors or hp fuel pump??

Could be several things. Start with over 1/3 tank of diesel. If yes then in tank pump. If it still doesn't start do an under bonnet pump. If those two aren't giving you enough when cranking that will be a lot of the problem. Now that's the very basic to check. After that your into injectors and all sorts. But that's worth a go. And remember you in tank might work, but under bonnet may have failed and vice versa.

The fuel supply to the engine is fine I've had the pipe off and cranked it and it pissed out so I'm thinking it's more the engine side. Fuel pump is working fine.
You'd be best getting toaf and checking the fuel pump pressures at cranking. Also the diesel needs at least 14v when cranking so a worn battery will make it splutter and stall
