I saw Jimi about a half-dozen times before he passed, and when I first heard Machiya do this solo about 4 or 5 years ago I was stunned, because I hadn't heard anything that similar in a long time. Homura is rarely performed alike, from concert to concert, so you can look at this as part of Homura. Maybe an intro to homura if you wont. Here is the bass solo before what we know as homura. You will find at least 6 different versions of homura on YT if you search a bit. Well played 👍
