I agree with others on your advance adjustments . Interestingly enough , most go for the carburetor as the problem . However most often the igition system is where you need to look . Example is a weak ign coil and or weak spark , and your timing advance . Most definitely carb stumbles can be an advance problem . Always go to the ignition system before tearing into a carb for drivability problems . Nice video
I had the stumble in my car and fought and fought it. Messed with the carb a bunch and finally checked the vacuum advance. It needed replacing but it was not leaking. That was the problem no advance. You may have already checked it but thought I would suggest it anyway. Good luck.

Hi Lee , Shannon and Lux . Wow ... a new carb and a successful test drive . Thanks for the B C road adventure . Great video. I'm starting in to a flat head project soon and knowing these Chinesium carbs aren't total garbage worth a Sub from a fellow Canadian UA-camr. Thanks for the info.
Vacuum break in distributor set to tight, not letting wights fully advance, a distributor machine would solve problems, Motors manual tells how to adjust in car by accelerating from idle in third gear and adjusting till just a hint of spark knock the backing off adjustment till knock just dissappears.
The timing isn’t really adjustable on these early flatheads. You have to remove the distributor completely and set it up a special machine to adjust them.
@@LGKustoms Special distributor machine? Yep, got one. They were a garage/ workshop item & every respectable repairer had one, so they should be around. Keep your eye open at swaps & on the "Bay"

Regarding the stumble, could it be a vacuum advance sticking, seems like advance at idle makes for a good strong idle and possibly a smoother transition from idle to midrange rpm
Maybe? It didn’t do it with the old carburetor though. Once it gets a bit of heat in it, it’s fine. By the second stop sign the stumble is completely gone.
Sure enjoyed the ride up north with you folks..good to hear the new carb worked out...Ihave some chinese sidedraft weber clones that work very well@@LGKustoms
Lee interesting video thankyou. I run the same plugs in my 48 and always will. Is yours a US spec or Canadian Ford? Looking at your hood ornament and heads it looks US spec. We got the Canadian stuff here in NZ (which I like) ....C59A engine with the factory alloy intake on mine and a hood ornament like the 46 without the enameled 8 badge on it.
The vacuum port in the carb would be for ported vacuum, which would be used on a distributor with a vacuum diaphragm, such as used on 8BA engines. While I'm at it, 17.58 Liters divided by 4.54609 gives you 3.867 Imperial gallons or 18.1 Miles Per proper Gallon. It looks like you used that silly short measure US Gallon which is only a paltry 3.78 Liters. So there you go, a 20% improvement over your own erroneous calculation. Win win.
Most of the cars in Canada were manufactured in southern Ontario. Some are US imports, my 47 for example was imported into Canada 7 years ago from Idaho. But the majority of the cars that come through my doors were all built in Canada.

Few people have suggested that! I’ll look in to it
For your stumble, try advancing the timing a few degrees.

Really enjoy your videos . . . always well done, entertaining and good information for those who are learning. Nice work!
Thanks for the review. Like you I have @20 or more sitting on intakes. Those are cheaper them rebuilding the old ones. 👍
I put one in my wife 1958 International and it worked great out of the box
Nice video. Great improvement in the miles per gallon 👍 Always good to see you, Shannon and Lux out there enjoying old cars.
Great guy, he directed me to some finer details in this video for my 1935 pickup
..hi Lee....that was a fun episode.......glad that Chinesium worked out for you......looks like the family is doing well........thanks....

Glad you liked the article. It’s gotten a ton of positive feedback.
Big thumbs up, enjoyed the ride along and happy for you guys.
Thanks 👍
I ran the NGK in my old coupe. Worked great for me too.
I have great results turning the idle mixture with a vacuum gage. Just tune for the highest vacuum, real old school.
That’s what I usually use too. These ones I just set by ear though
Fun video Lee, well done
always fun good music
Great video. I'm starting in to a flat head project soon and knowing these Chinesium carbs aren't total garbage worth a Sub from a fellow Canadian UA-camr. Thanks for the info.
It’s still on the car, and I’ve still never touched it!
I still prefer to rebuild an original carburetor. Had good results. Have the same car you guys have.
I rebuilt this carburetor a couple years ago, and it ran terrible. Maybe I’m not a good carburetor rebuilder? I dunno? It’s running good now though.
I was wondering how those carbs were, spent some good money rebuilding a pair of 94s this winter, will have to try those next time.
Just love a slap bass
Thinking road trip im in Bakersfield might head your wsy do like your 47
Just bought a 47 ford deluxe. Need a good carb.
I'm still happy with this one

U also need to check your points and timing not just changing plugs

I run that excat oil in my 50.
Happen to have any videos on the 52’ ford F1 by chance ?

Hi Lee, how the carb doing after almost 1 year on the 47 ? Grtz, Filip Belgium
So far so good! No issues
Whats the link to the carb?
Carburetor for Holley 94 Hot Rod... www.amazon.ca/dp/B09YYDYMPL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I always wondered if sherryberg carb can do the job. You just proved it ! But what about the jets ? Do they have the same set up than the old carb ?
I’m assuming they are the same?
Fun video.
Hey, where did you get the air cleaner?
The chrome base was on the car when I bought it. The element is from Amazon.
I think your car stumbles from altitude. Canada is higher on the map than the United States.😅
Yea, that’s probably it 🙄😆
Check the floats
I think its a gambling with the repop stuff, never know what you'll get. Looks like you won this hand
Jet sizes , same as old?
Good question. I never opened it up. Just bolted it on and went for it.
It’s still on the car today and working great.
Looks like the next repair is a steering box adjustment 😂😂 great tips as usual Lee 👍
Steers fine to me? Maybe I’m just used to it.
My first car was a 1947 F0rd
You need dual exhast
I definitely do!
Hi Lee, yes your original 94 had the truck style top that was for the oil bath air cleaner.
No , just no. If your not good at rebuilding carbs then send it to someone who is. They can use the work too.
moore videos please😄
Ck the vacuum advance to cure your stumble
You’re the second person to suggest that.
Hi New baby❤
Nice ride, but needs a paint job.
Does it? Will a paint job make it run better? More reliable?
It would be more pleasing to the eyes.@@LGKustoms

This is an American car. Came from Idaho

Appreciate that! Thank you
You have a lot of cool cars come in your shop built in the U S A by RED BLOODSD AMERICANS (FRED C.)

Dude!!! Buying parts to keep running down the road!!! So what every you can afford!!! Kids will bring that out of you!!!✌️
How can you support America when they don't make anything here anymore
They make a lot of drama in America haha
